Hey guys, I’m super new to the BMX world and I bought a second hand Sunday Forecaster on the weekend. The previous owner had removed the brakes and no longer had them.

I was thinking of taking it to a bike store to order/fit the brakes? Or is it fairly straight forward to fit brakes to the bike and I should do it myself?

I’d be looking to order the brakes outlined in the specs of the bike.

Thanks everyone 🤙🏻

  1. Brakes are straigforward to put on but tricky to dial in perfectly.

If you’re planning on running brakes, learning how to maintain them is essential so I would honestly just learn it if I was you.

Did you pick the brakes yet? Did you get the brake mounts from the previous owner of your bike or you need to buy those too?

  2. I would recommemd Odyseey Springfield brakes. They are simpler a setup than traditional brake and work excellent.
