Does anyone patch a hole this big? It is doom to fail?
My problem is I cannot get another inner tube from where I am. I will patch this anyway because I have no choice but just want to have an idea if this can last for long or only tens of km or doesn't work at all. Thank you all very much

Too big and a new tube is too cheap to not just replace it.
Good enough to get you home but will need replacing soon. I only patch tires during a ride but never keep riding them. The chance of them losing air again isn’t worth the € 5 that they cost.
Noted. But I am still a few hundreds km from city. I know I should bring more spare. But unfortunately it is the situation right now. Thank you
You’d need one of the bigger rectangular patches for that one. Round patches are for pinholes.

You could try to cut up an old tube (if you have one) in order to make a much larger patch. Both surfaces (patch and tube) will have to be sanded and coated with glue. I’ve seen a patch like this work once, temporarily. The tube will need to be replaced if you want it to be reliable. Tubes are available online if you can get delivery.
Tie a knot around the hole. Or use two patches overlapping
