  1. If I’m not mistaken, the Zertz inserts on Roubaix/Ruby frames was added mainly because riders were uncomfortable with having a big hole on the stays of their frame, not because it was actually needed structurally. I wouldn’t be surprised of the CG-R seatpost was the same.

    Yeah per above, I wouldn’t be worried about it failing. It may be less damped/more springy without the elastomer.

  3. Yes. From the ones I warranted in the past. They do and will break. Not a place id wand to have my ass when it decides to let er go. The engineers at specialized arent guessing at these things the adjusting their designs on a whim because some “expert” says it needs something in this dead space. The glue failed likely after what they calculated the life expectancy of the product. Remember the lifetime warranty isnt for your lifetime but rather what has been figured for the product. Take it to a specialized dealer and see what they can do for you. If you’re the original owner it should be easy.
