The voice of set PK, the voice of radio tour. We’re not getting him in English at the moment on these days. We got two riders immediately onto the attack. One of them being Matthew Vanderpool. 176 riders at the race start. He’s in full mode, isn’t he? Look at the way he’s riding already at the beginning of this stage. He’s full out trying to get as big a gap as possible. crash at the back of the pelaton Uno X rider down. We were on an uphill section. One of the best climbers in the world. And some would have said before this race started, one of the top three fastest climbers in the world. And the UAE team cars had to leave him. Yes. Get back. Oh, another crash. The German champion is down. Left hand side of the road. Nice. uh as well is dropped and he will stop uh so he will retire from the race back through the cars. Look at Wow Vanard one of the classiest bike riders in the world with so much power and look at Vanart here as he sprints flat out desperately trying to get onto the string. Vanart on his limit and cannot close the gap on his own. Surely there’s a point now where he will be safe and he’ll just be able to ride in. I mean even that wa watch out motorbike. That was close. That was very very close. 64 km an hour. This race is firing. 34 seconds is the gap now to Machu Vanderpool. [Applause] 160 kilometers in the lead now for these two riders. What an incredible day out. And still Vanderpool looks and focuses and grimaces a little bit. Look at Alperson Kernik trying to completely disrupt what’s going on. They come up to the front. Two of their riders right at the front trying to slow this down. And what a job being done by Dillier and Emil Stringer. Come on. Come on. Come on. Here we are heading into Shaturu Caendish City. He won his first ever stage here. And now Matthew Vanderpool goes Jonas Rykart. What a day. He deserves to be on the podium this afternoon. This ride 168 kilometers with Matthew Vanderpool. Now Vanderpool says, “Right, now’s time to win the stage.” Vanderpool goes clear. 6K to go. 3.2 km to go. 14 seconds. 52 km an hour. They take the right hand up. Whoa, whoa, whoa. And all take the left and everybody gets safely through just about as Kofidis lead out of that turn. And the Pelaton are just behind the rider who’s lit up stage nine of the tour to France. He’s been in the lead now for 172 km. Vanderpole grimaces a little bit more. Can he find some more speed and try and win this stage? Yes, he’s But the Groupama United are looking very good at the front of this pelaton. Wa! With 1 km to go, Matthew Vanderpool is going to be caught. 173 km in the lead for Matthew Vanderpool. Big move there from Israel Primitech on the right hand side. And here we are in the final kilometer now. Moving up Danny Van Ppple. Big acceleration by Topard almost hits the wheel and manages to write it. Big attack now on the right hand side as Israel Premier Tech go for this. They lead out Pascal Akaman. Danny Vanderop Danny Van Pppel goes for the line. Jonathan Milan now opens up the sprint. Tim Malia the European champion. It’s a drag race. Is Jonathan Milan going to take it? Tim Malia wins. An incredible stage. Here’s the sprint. Nico, what a messy sprint. Danny Papa going very early, but look at Tim. There was a moment he wanted to go right. He sees your opportunity to go left. Full into the wind. Gets around really close to what a day. Matthew Vanderpool. how to light up the tour to France. 173 km. But Sudar Quickstep said before the stage, this is a perfect finish for Tim Mia. The drag to the line and Milan just looks across. Can’t believe it. He had no lead out train, did he? They were all gone. They had to work all day.

  1. It was a matter of a fraction of an inch – or less – for a massive crash in the scrum for sprint positioning……that it didn't occur was incredible racing luck.

  2. Surprising footage at about 1:30. First, a rider and a follow car don't know how to pass a water bottle between the car and the rider. Then another car almost ran a motorcycle off of the road. Are there a bunch of newbies this year?

Who the heck was the rider in pink, blue and white on the right side of the screen in the overhead shot at about 3:40? He slowed down and started moving side-to-side, almost causing a couple of crashes. That was strange.

Milan and that head-bobbing style when he sprints is always fun to watch.
