Looking for advice from those who use alt bars with Rohloff

I'm having a hard time figuring out a handlebar setup that works for me. I have really enjoyed both versions of Velo Orange Crazy bars but my favorite position is on the corner where the horns come out. Since the bars aren't that wide, the grip shifter eats into the area I like to rest most. Anybody find a combo that allows for them to have space for the grip shifter but still have other places to hold? I pretty much cruise in the corners, use the horns to stretch out, and use the widest grip when descending or tough climbs. Any advice would be awesome!
