Crash Palon. Loads of riders are down. Ma is down as well on the left hand side. We had a plan. Normally should be there but he crashed. Well have a broken rib then a lot of bruises and a lot of skin missing. And then Johnny came through. Bravo Johnny. Bravo Johnny. Good job. close to he need lead out. Yeah, it was perfect for me. Yeah. How are you? Yeah, I’m still here. My finger is really painful. I’ll see how it goes during the day with uh holding the handlebar and everything. Tim, back to business today. Uh looks lucky. Yeah, normally it’s a finish line who who fits me well. Today already we have a goal again with Kayen. I think it’s a sprint that suits him pretty well. Yeah, exactly. Unfortunately, we missed Yasper now. So, uh we still have some opportunities in the sprint. Today is a bit more of an uphill sprint. I think it’s a bit more about the legs and less about speed. Will be tough, but I like this kind of finish. That’s all about power also. Something I like. Yeah, this is the day we can uh go for a stage victory. 171 km to leave Britany and head for the Mayan. And for the third time in history, a stage finish in Laval. Four years ago, Pogachar won the time trial. A bunch sprint anticipated this time. A quiet day in the saddle. Just what the doctor ordered for many in the Pelaton. [Music] Where are we this morning? I’ve got no idea. In France. Good question. I don’t know. Santal grandma. [Music] Okay, nice. I have no idea. [Applause] It’s the biggest region actually in France, full of cows. Let’s see what else we can see on the road. And there was a museum actually of Lucia B. So, all good. into Mar get ready. Binium Gamay is on the wheel to get set to try and beat Milan. There’s a little bit of bumping and barging as Quinn Simmons moves up on the right hand side but it is Jonathan Milan. Tim Mera is there going for the sprint. Milia moves on the right hand side. Turgis is there but Milan makes it look very easy ahead of Tim Mera. Turgis and Binium Gay. Total Energies unveiled their plan to honor the spirit of the tour at least challenge perceived wisdom of a sprint finale. Matthew Burgadu and Matio have stood on the tour to France podium before. How long were the odds of doing so together? Pretty long with the advantage kept under a minute. Germay’s intermar train had him well positioned, but Milan had Quinn Simmons rolling on the front with 70k to go. [Music] Burgau took the solitary king of the mountain point up the only category climb of the day. But the French duo’s attack was coming to an end, it seemed as they could look over their shoulders. Burgo dropped Verse though to try and resist what seemed inevitable. And it wasn’t a smooth finish for some of the stage favorites. Mechanical for now. mechanical formal. [Music] Reminder, the key key point is that roundabout at 3k to go. We get control there. Do the roundabout fast and give Sam a chance. Okay. Yes, guys. Try to find each other in front. Try to move up. Yonas is now on the front left. Aan is on his wheel. Just behind his bow house. Just behind them is uh one of the lotto riders. Moving up on the left hand side comes Wanard and it’s hard there for Conson. He’s done a big job. Leaves Asperstein in the front very early there from to go but they have to commit to it. A lot of the teams are coming up as you see Trenton leading out now. Dese on the wheel. Wild Bernard is going to go for the sprint as well. He is 1,000 m of racing to go on this eighth stage of the tour to France. Big move by Pavle Bitner. attack on the left hand side. Is that uh is that Penuette or is that Gregoire? I’ll tell you who it is. It is going to be Lewis Asi. Lewis Asi is up there for the team of Group Armor being led out. So ASI is trying to get involved in the mix. 570 m to go, but the arrival now of Matthew Vanderpool with a big rush right hand side. It’s Pascal Akerman. Jonathan Milan moves across onto the wheel of Kaden Groves. Wanat is still there. Here goes Jonathan Milan. Oh, he went to go and then decided it was too early in this wind. He’s decided. Here goes the sprint now. Jonathan Milan firing to try and win his first ever stage of the tour to France. Well, Van’s going to challenge Jonathan Milan, but it is going to be no doubt the Italian sits up confident wins stage number eight. The first stage win in the tour for Jonathan Milan. Do you have your tour to France stage victory? Yeah, you know, I I think I didn’t uh still understood what uh what we did and winning also with this uh jersey on the shoulders means a lot for me, means a lot for I think also all my country. Uh yeah. No wonder it means so much Milan not just earning his first tour stage win but Italy’s first since 2019. Vote Vanard nor Kaden Groves could deny him. Ted Pagachar in yellow without any stress. The GC contenders with some timely recovery time. Milan’s victory means he can now wear the green jersey outright. 36 points now clear of Pagacha. Burgo got himself on the board, but with just one king of the mountain point, Tim Valins remains in possession of the polka dots. No change at the GC, no movement for the best young rider, Remco Evanapool remains in the white jersey. [Music] Congrats, boys. Congrats, boys. Yes. Yes. Really good, boys. Congrats.

Look, this kind of stages should be brought to an absolute minimum right? Make them 20 km long, let them go all out from the get go, then everybody can rest.
Today I switched to Tour of Austria-exciting stuff, young Torito crushes them
Goat editor!!! Please share music title, the one that starts at 2:12 PLSssssss
What happened to girmay ?
that was oustanding from Milan, how he moved up and switched it up and detonate it at the end. very cool.
These are some of the most well produced summaries I've seen from any sport ever. But what is missing in all the high-tech wizardry of high production values is soul. I'd much rather watch a 30 minute summary of Phil Liggett than watch these over produced multi-lingual brief summaries. It's crazy when a group does something far better technically but completely misses out on the soul of a topic. And these official Tour de France (in English) efforts that try to push the French language as equivalent to English miss the mark. When something worked so well for 30 years, why destroy it simply out of insecurity. What was know when Phil Liggett and (the late) Paul Sherwen was they respected French culture but they presented the race in a far more interesting way to the English speaking audience which is the majority of Tour de France viewership. Soul beats production value every day of the weak. And showing daily 8 minute clips that are called "extended highlights) that spend 30% on a review of the previous day is comically bad. Until this year, extended highlights meant a 25-30 minute summary and review of what actually happened, not a 3 minutes of review, 4 minutes of action, and 1 minute of summary. That is NOT extended.
These videos by Tour de France organization are very high quality. But they are missing the base ingredients – soul, duration, and reality. If you think gimping your YouTube clips will force people to watch a 6 hour broadcast then you have no clue about new media.

The guy with all the banages. Prepared to ride again. If that was a foorball player, he would off sick for a month.
MUITA FORÇA JOÃO ALMEIDA 💪☀️🚀
Sagan-esque domination 👊
Thick wool knitted jackets 0:54
Bicicletta francese si trasmette non c'è nemmeno un italiano ma vedere Wimbledon dove c'è il grande CAMPIONE di tennis Jannik SINNER la rai non la fa vedere che VERGOGNA
Because of the highlights I'm always now fans of tdf…. Super excellent
We didnt see cows
best Highlight yet
Only one guy can beat Milan at sprint and that's the guy who left the tour
Congratulations, Milan! That was a solid win.
Sprinting to the finish is much safer without Jasper Phileppsen. Wishing Jasper a Full and speedy recovery.🙏
Sprint stages just aren't that interesting. Why don't they just ride 3 km and have the sprint?!!
I got to keep saying it, whoever is putting together these highlights needs a raise

POGI can actually go for that sprint but decided not to because the world is now questioning his power if it is still natural. Don’t wanna be caught 😁
primoz el mejor 🙂
Another Silver for my idol.
This TEAM RADIO is unnecessary and annoying.
Milan is a bit of a dirty sprinter, he’s always intentionally bumping people out of the way, he did it twice in this sprint…
Great coverage and love the radio calls. Bravo to all riders.
Yet again, SUPERB coverage! Thank you, Tour de France. 🥰👍
M 🦘🏏😎
Classy way to take the stage. Respect.
Tadej has already won
Pogacar is dope, wake up aso!
Great work TdF – an excellent highlight and summary reel. Merci
