Hey Riders…..
The Tour never seems to stop, it just keeps moving forward. Stage 6 saw the breakaway escape and Ben Healy of Ireland solo away to victory. The other teams will be getting the same idea, coalitions will be formed to get the break away during Stage 7. We travel 197km with 2450m of climbing from St Malo to the finish at the Mur de Bretagne. The last time we were here Van der Poel won the stage it one of the greatest finishers ever. Attacking and getting away, being caught by the group and still managing to attack and escape to victory.

riders. Welcome back. Colin here insideĀ
Cycling World, guys. It’s early. Um kind of having a longer neutralized start today. UhĀ
stage started at 10 after 4 local time. We’ll call it that. That’s 10 after 4 in the morningĀ
for me. 4 a.m. folks. Uh I did get up, I think,Ā Ā  at 3:15. This is going to be a long day for me.Ā
Uh but let’s get it, folks. Let’s get it. Uh yeah, let’s check the settings here. Everything’sĀ
looking good, guys. Trying to keep the lightningsĀ Ā  down a little bit. Uh, you know, my lightingĀ
expert, uh, Joey Jojo, uh, is all on top of me about my lighting. Uh, let’s get this streamĀ
open here. Looks like it’s going to open now, so I will have chat available. I’m trying toĀ
sit back a little bit from it. Here we go. Now, we’re still about 4 km to the start, guys. I’mĀ
going to show you some pics from yesterday. Um, I got some pics from one certain Sage Gastan whoĀ
was in our live chat. Um, okay guys. Yeah, I’m I’ve got you in the wrong spot as usual. Let’s getĀ
back over here. Stage 7, St. Malow, guys. What’s the route today? Let’s have a look at it. Uh, 197Ā
km. Uh, we’ve still got a good chunk of climbing, too. So, it’s St. Mallow to the famous, infamousĀ
Mur De Britannia. Uh the last time we were here, we saw one certain uh Dutchman. Dutch. Yeah,Ā
he’s Dutch. Uh Matthew Vanderpole win at the Tour to France last time. Basically the sameĀ
finish as last time as well. One of the bestĀ Ā  finishes you’re ever going to see uh at a tourĀ
to France. He basically went on a breakaway, got over the top, got caught on the firstĀ
ascent. They do two ascents of the MurderĀ Ā  Bratana. Now guys, this isn’t the world’s biggestĀ
hill. Uh, but it’s there. He was able to escape again from the group that caught him, attack,Ā
and win. So, let’s just take a quick look at the map. You’ll see where we are here. We’llĀ
do the map first. Let’s get that map going. Folks are just going to slowly start piling in,Ā
guys. Friday, I’m kind of like So, you can see weĀ Ā  start on the coastline here kind of in a a part ofĀ
France. You know, when I see this part of France, I’m always like, “Yeah, what what’s over here?” IĀ
I’m really familiar with Normandy and the areas upĀ Ā  here, Paris, and then the Provence, the Pyrenees,Ā
down to the south. This little area here is kind of like way out on the west side. Uh we’re stillĀ
3.4 km to the start. So, we start in St. Mallow on the coast here. It’s a walled city. Uh the totalĀ
maritime city heading out. This is where we do this double loop. Now, it’s kind of almost threeĀ
climbs of the Bratannia because there’s a climb in town here that’s also the murder of BratanniaĀ
because that’s the name of the town here,Ā Ā  but it’s the v the village, the village. Uh thenĀ
we head north where you can see the category 3 here. We go up the actual murder Bratana. ThisĀ
is like a hard man’s climb. This could be a Machu Vanderpole or a Pogy all the way. I think withĀ
the success yesterday of Ben Healey, stage six, uh, winner, solo winner. What an awesome stage.Ā
There were there was some crazy timing going onĀ Ā  at the end and also I think a little bit of,Ā
uh, I’m trying to see where my chat is here. Do we have the live chat on? Talk chat’sĀ
on. We don’t want talk chat. Why would IĀ Ā  want talk chat? Top chats on. Got 29 people onĀ
right now, folks. Again, calling here inside Cycling World. Another glorious day in theĀ
10×10 cube of sweat and glorious dreams. Now, what is the 10 x10 cube? The 10 x10 cube is myĀ
studio slashike training room slashspare bedroom slash where I hang out with you guys room. Uh it’sĀ
roughly well it is 10x 10 by roughly 10 uh a cube of where I do all my stuff. That’s why we callĀ
it that the 10 x 10. Thomas Bridge in the mix. first guy in the chat today. Thomas, uh, you areĀ
first today. Thank you so much for being here. Uh, it’s always nice to get things kicked offĀ
here. Sometimes when I do this, I’m like,Ā Ā  is anyone going to even watch this today? So guys,Ā
if you’re looking at the map right now on screen, I got to make sure. Yeah, you’re looking at it.Ā
We’re going to go through the village first,Ā Ā  which is only a cat 4 climb. Points available.Ā
We head northerly up the actual Murder Bratannia category 3. We will pass through the finish line,Ā
but it’s a circuit at that point. We continue on and do a loop around and come back through the midĀ
murder of Bratana for the second time. So Britney babies, Britney, that’s where we’re at. Let’sĀ
take a look at the route itself, the profile. I think what I’ll do today, too, is once thingsĀ
kind of calm down out there, I’ll uh Now, we don’t want the map anymore, do we? No. Stage profile.Ā
That’s number four. So, here we are. St. Malo, you can see here today too, the sprinters don’tĀ
have it that easy today. They’ve got to grindĀ Ā  themselves through almost 140 kilometers before weĀ
even get to the sprint point. Uh, and today too, guys, there’s 2500 m of climbing today. ThreeĀ
climbs at the back. So, this is probably more similar to stage four before the time trial whereĀ
all where we had those five climbs at the back end uh that were hotly contested. The sprinters lost aĀ
ton of time. There was a lot of riders who lost a lot of time, but it’s very lumpy and bumpy alongĀ
the way, too. Um, with the success of Ben Healey yesterday. I’m thinking other teams are goingĀ
to be taking their chances as well. And what an epic finish it was, too. There was a guy whoĀ
made a really good comment in the chat. He says,Ā Ā  “Do you think Ben Healey can win?” And I was kindĀ
of like, and I and I did correct myself at the time. I’m like, “There’s no way Ben can win, canĀ
take the yellow.” But the time gap was big enoughĀ Ā  that Ben actually had probably the best chance ofĀ
taking the yellow. Uh because at the end there, what happened, just to recap, it was so hectic atĀ
the end there trying to keep up with the chat. UhĀ Ā  which I love guys that Machu was slowing down andĀ
Vizma was just driving the Pelaton working trying to put Tatty under a little bit of pressure.Ā
Uh it’s like Tatty was uh afterwards Tatty was saying, “Yeah, Vismo was trying to push meĀ
hard at the end.” Uh Ben Healey finished up the road. Matthew Vanderpole finished four minutesĀ
behind and the Pelaton with Tatty, Yonas, Remco, they finished just about a minute and 30 somethingĀ
seconds behind him. And that was the gap that uh Matu Vanderpole had that day going into the stage.Ā
So that huge gap that we were seeing at first um I’m not even sure if it was real to be honestĀ
because there were times yesterday where I brought up oh I’m seeing St. Michelle on the background.Ā
This is where we’re at folks. M St. Michelle is that monastery uh looks like a big cathedral onĀ
top out in the water only accessible at low tide. Such a cool thing. Love France. Can’t wait to goĀ
there next year folks. We’re going uh Doug’s back in the mix. back in the saddle. Uh Doug St.Ā
Colin, great platform of interaction. Thanks, Doug. Really appreciate it, guys. You know,Ā
yesterday, uh I told Joey there’s going to be days that aren’t as good, days that we don’t getĀ
as many people here. I expect that. Uh yesterday was the day. Uh and that’s okay. You know, sheĀ
tracks things for me. She’s the analytics. She goes, “What what happened yesterday? What did youĀ
Colin? What did you do wrong?” I’m like, I It’sĀ Ā  the same every day. It’s the same every day, guys.Ā
Uh guys, we’re still neutralized start right now. They’re just showing some stuff. I’m just goingĀ
to have a quick listen in here. Yeah, we’re still neutralized start here. They’re just rollingĀ
along easy. Neil’s pallet on screen. We’re about 600 meters to the start, guys. Whilst we’re here,Ā
let’s get you in here right now. Okay, I got you in the right spot. Trying to keep the light off.Ā
the lighting boss upstairs. Uh she’s decided she’s uh the queen of Hollywood or something. Uh we’veĀ
got videos. Oh, where did I lose the pictures? Oh, yeah. What I did want to show too isĀ
let’s take a look at the route again here.Ā Ā  Let’s look at the uh the sporting stakes. IĀ
like this section here too. This is going to show you the sprint points available at theĀ
one intermediate sprint today. 20 points forĀ Ā  first working its way down. Uh we have oneĀ
point for going through the coat develia. Just one point available. Then we get twoĀ Ā  points when we go through theĀ
actual B mirror de Britannia. Uh we’ll get points again for the second passageĀ
through it. 50 points at the finish lines for the green jersey. So it’s really motivating uh theĀ
sprinters to get involved. This could really help Matthew Vanderpull out today. Uh, while we’reĀ
at that here, what are the green points jerseysĀ Ā  like right now? This is uh general ranking greenĀ
jersey. Jonathan Milan, uh, 50 points available for first. Anyone could jump into the front here.Ā
It’s probably more of a Matthew Vanderpole type finish. Tatty Pagachar type finish. One of theseĀ
two will probably be back in the green jersey tape. Jonathan Milan will probably get the earlyĀ
points. Only 20 available. That takes him to 132. Starting at 112, guys. Boom. There. It’s insanityĀ
at the front already. The stage has started. Let’s get right into this, guys. Let me get settledĀ
in here. We’re going to take a look at theĀ Ā  route here. We’re going live now. It’s alreadyĀ
off. 10-second gaps. We just started. We just started. Uh we are 500 m into the race right now,Ā
and we’ve got a 10-second gap. Well, sorry. Here, uh we’re 2.2 2 km into the stage and we’ve gotĀ
a 10-second gap. Just all the jerseys up front now. I see all different colors of jerseys drivingĀ
hard. Guys, some of these teams, this is the only opportunity they’re going to get uh at a tour toĀ
France to win a stage. And every day that clicks by, the pressure builds. Guys, we’ve won nothing.Ā
Guys, we’ve won nothing. They all go in with high ambitions. uh they’re motivated, they get there,Ā
and things don’t go their way. Again, they’re not robots. Things happen out there. Uh I’m going toĀ
go through the chat here quick. We got a dude here just saying, “What’s up?” Hey, dude. Uh his name,Ā
uh oh, love your name, dude. Is your name 10 x 10? It looks something like that. Might be 10 by zero.Ā
That’s what I’m seeing there. Uh, let me know what your name is, dude. Uh, then we’ve got Carl HinesĀ
from Portugal. Uh, is this really the actual live of stage 7? Yeah, dude. I’m watching the stageĀ
live. Uh, so I’m watching the stage and doingĀ Ā  audio commentary for it, providing my insightsĀ
from what I’m seeing here in the stage right now. Looks like Van Art might be in the breakawayĀ
today, folks. Let me just have a quick lookĀ Ā  here. I’m trying to figure this out. Now, this isĀ
back at the Pelaton. Let me get some feed here. Oh yeah, they’re strung out completely. The actualĀ
breakaway is completely strung out. The Pelaton is just completely strung out. We’re already like 51Ā
53 km an hour at the very start of the tour. The first hour is going to be just a slaughterfestĀ
here. Anyone with tired legs is really going to struggle today. I would say the front breakawayĀ
group is probably Oh, it’s at least 25 to 30 riders. So, it’s a big group up the ra road. It’sĀ
a dangerous break. Uh the leaders are going to have to be careful here, folks, while we’ve gotĀ
this going on here. So, yeah. Uh Carlo Carl Hines uh from Portugal, we are watching Stage 7 live.Ā
It’s kind of a listenalong party. Uh I’ll do my best to tell you what’s going on at the stageĀ
right now. Okay, let me move this one over, guys. Uh, let’s see. Doug saying since uh FlowikeĀ
took over, the tour control coverage is now horrendous. So, Doug’s not like him. Doug,Ā
you don’t like the flow bikes at all? Can anyone suggest a free to air broad to allĀ
broadcast? I can use my VPN to travel. Yes, Brett. I love that. And he says, “PS, I stillĀ
use the commentary.” Brett, you’re number oneĀ Ā  in the chat right now, bro. Good job, dude.Ā
Uh, we’ve got just under 50 people watching, guys. Early everyone in the world. I like I gotĀ
teen Joey that she goes, “Why don’t a bunch ofĀ Ā  people watch right at the very beginning?Ā
Why do you get numbers bigger?” I’m like, “Because it’s 4:30 in the morning for me. ForĀ
a lot of you, uh, dudes, it’s middle of the day somewhere in the world.” I actually thought thisĀ
morning, I’m like, imagine the guys on the PacificĀ Ā  Coast. It’s like 3:30 in the morning for them.Ā
They’re not they’re not getting up for a couple more hours. It’s a Friday. Uh maybe that’s a greatĀ
day. Maybe that’s a bad day. I think the good days are Saturday and Sunday. Uh right now I’m seeingĀ
two riders. One being Vout Vanart. Let’s have a look here, guys. We’ve got a few groups formingĀ
right now. Front group right now. W is up frontĀ Ā  again. He’s trying to do something today. He didĀ
this yesterday, too. He had he looked like he was having a start to a great day and then kind of allĀ
fell apart on him. In the end, I think he finished uh more than 15 minutes behind yesterday.Ā
So, we got Wout Vanart, Vizma, Lisa Bike, and Mororrow Schmidt for team JCO Alula in theĀ
front. Uh only 12 seconds back to the Pelaton there. Everyone’s there, guys. 176 riders. We’veĀ
lost five riders in total this year. I checked that out this morning. Uh off the back we alreadyĀ
have a couple of riders. I believe one rider Brian Kard. I’m going to say with a 35se second gap heĀ
had an early mechanical. Yeah, just looking up the road. These guys are in the wide open open fieldsĀ
here. Uh two riders up front. We’re going to need some terrain to make this uh uh breakaway succeedĀ
today. Let’s get back here. Uh guys, why don’t I just play you this for a little bit as I getĀ
settled in. So, here’s where we’re going today. Make sure that’s muted. Uh just in caseĀ
you guys don’t know, if you’re trying toĀ Ā  find free sites to watch in that, they getĀ
copyright struck so quick. I got copyright struck two days ago for a little six, seven,Ā
eight, six to eight second long jingle. Uh, it just happened to play in the background andĀ
YouTube catches it and I’m like that like to me it’s like that’s something you hear all the timeĀ
when you watch the tour to France, but they didn’t like it. So then I had to scramble and try toĀ
fix things. You can see from the map here theĀ Ā  train is very lumpy here through BritanniaĀ
Britany. There you go. There’s that circuit loop up through the Mirid Britannia uh twice. IĀ
think the town there is a Geradan they call it. uh last one by Matthew Vanderpole. So he knowsĀ
the stage well. He did go on an epic eightman breakaway yesterday. So guys, yesterday’s stageĀ
was absolutely fantastic. Eightman break. It took a long time to form that break yesterday. EightĀ
guys got away. At the end it was uh Ben Healey who put in a pretty devastating attack. We’ll takeĀ
a look at the uh Wow. Why does it keep doing this to me? I did have the pictures earlier, too.Ā
Okay, we’ll come back here. We’ll take a look at the live track and you can see where theyĀ
are on stage right now. Uh winds look prettyĀ Ā  calm today. I’m not seeing anything that should feĀ
make us worry for uh crosswinds here. Catching up with Brian Kard now. Just seeing a replay of himĀ
in the uh actually he went to the doctor’s car. probably just having his finger rewrapped.Ā
Just getting a free little sticky ride on the car there, if you know what I mean. Uh, inĀ
the chat. Okay. So, yeah, Brett, there there are some places and I know it was Steven Cycles. Oh,Ā
yeah. Shout out to Steven Cycles, dude. Steven helps me a lot with my channel. Uh, when I go toĀ
Europe, I’m definitely going to meet up with him. He rides with a lot of really cool people. Uh heĀ
always sends me cool pictures. This is a jersey he sent me. This is a fantastic Licole jersey.Ā
Uh he sent me a while back. It’s fantastic. I love Licole products. Uh so Stephen sent thatĀ
over to me. I think I think it was way back in November. We had a huge postal strike hereĀ
in Canada. So it took forever to get to me. Um just reading here, guys. Let me catch up. Do youĀ
think uh so Vidy Vidy Benny here saying do you think Bing Germay or Merlier have a chance toĀ
win the sprint today? Um I don’t think Bingan does today. Those flat stages are coming guys.Ā
We got a couple of like all out sprint stages are coming. I think one might be tomorrow. I hadĀ
these stages mixed up in my mind. Uh I thoughtĀ Ā  the mir mirror was tomorrow. What I’ll do hereĀ
is let’s take a look at the stages. It’s the the Lavalis spass one. This is going to beĀ
the one for the sprinters. You can see it’s still they call it flat. Still, 1700 meters ofĀ
climbing. Two riders still off the front here, guys. Just want a quick bounce back there toĀ
the race. They’ve still got a 15-second gap, but it’s just two of them. One of theĀ
strongest guys in the race, but he’s not on the form we’ve seen from the past. Did itĀ
all come back overnight? We’ll soon find out. This is tomorrow’s stage we’re going to lookĀ
at now. Uh yeah, look at this one. This is a stage that Bingham will be involved in. There’sĀ
a small climb at 900 meter climb. Uh but it’s 16 km from the finish. No one will be able to getĀ
away during that point unless they let them. Uh sprint point just under halfway. This stage willĀ
be hotly contested by the sprinters. Stage nine. This guy will get another sprint stage. ThisĀ
one’s probably even more interesting. Sprint point early on. So, it’s going to be anĀ
absolute uh freight trains on the front pulling hard for their sprinters. Uh the sprintĀ
point coming at about 23 24.2 km in that day. So the first 20, 30 minutes are going to beĀ
insanity on that stage. Then it’s probably going to mellow out. Probably going to see someĀ
breakaways try to go and then the insanity will build at the end again. We’ll take a look atĀ
stage 10, though. This is a stage I’m really looking for. This is what I call a juicy stageĀ
right here. 165 km, 4,400 m of climbing. And this is what I’m thinking. This is starting toĀ
become the tour to France to me here. We stillĀ Ā  have a sprint point in there. At that point, theĀ
sprinters will just vanish. They will just vanish. You will not see them again for the whole day. UhĀ
probably losing half an hour to the main group on that day. Let’s get back to it, guys. We’re backĀ
in here. Gap at the front now. 9 seconds. Uh we’ve got some It did just so show someone tryingĀ
to bridge up to them. Pelaton just reabsorbed them. There’s probably I bet you that how theyĀ
track it, okay, if it’s less than 4 seconds, it they’re part of this group or they’re partĀ
of that group. That’s probably what’s happeningĀ Ā  there. Uh if I look at the leading group again,Ā
looks like two riders still. And it sure is two riders. We have Mororrow Schmidt here fromĀ
team Jolula. Ah, this guy’s a strong rider, too. Strong rider. When I see him in that SwissĀ
jersey, I got to think maybe he’s some national time trialist. Uh let’s see what we can find outĀ
about him. First at the Cadell Evans Great Ocean Race. Second on the seventh stage of Perry. ThisĀ
is all this year guys. Uh Flesh Lewon 10th place. Bass Country 13th on the first. So does have a aĀ
good good standings here this year. Okay. Right here. 13th on the first stage of the Bass Country.Ā
That one’s actually this Idulia Bass Country. I believe that’s on flow bikes. Uh I’m going toĀ
catch that time next. That was an individualĀ Ā  time trial. Oh no, right here. The Grand PrioĀ
McGill endurine. I think that’s just a time trial. So kind of a time trialist. ProbablyĀ
a good guy for WOW to be hanging out with. Get back to live. I’ve got a lot of windowsĀ
open. Let me shut some of these down. I feelĀ Ā  like Joey Jojo on her iPhone. Uh when I catchĀ
her doing this for about three minutes straight, uh closing down all the windows and askingĀ
me, “Collin, my phone doesn’t work anymore.Ā Ā  Why doesn’t my phone 27° at the moment, guys?”Ā
Uh Brian Kakard still trying to get back on. Uh probably a replay, though. Uh let me get theĀ
chat going here, guys. Uh Doug saying that flow bike is exponentially expensive in CzechĀ
Republic. It’s 12 12:30 in South Africa now. I should be working. Hey Brett, let’s start theĀ
weekend early. You can hang out with us. Just,Ā Ā  you know, you don’t have to watch video.Ā
Let’s just get some audio going. Just minimize me. Just minimize it. So, I’m seeingĀ
a little bit of delayed coverage here. Uh, you can see the Pelaton bringing back the remnantsĀ
of the breakaway, but we do still have two riders up front. 14 seconds at the moment. Let’s checkĀ
the commentary. Let’s see what they’re saying. The lead duo maintain a gap of 10 secondsĀ
after 13.5 km. And as I was just saying here, they’re they’re commenting uh from the tour toĀ
France feed. Riders try to set off, but they’reĀ Ā  rapidly reeled in. I’m just watching that goingĀ
on here. Vanart and Schmidt are going hard. I’ll tell you who’s at the front of the the bunch onceĀ
the Pelaton once the cameras get on them. Uh theĀ Ā  cameras are just focused on Vout and Morrow here.Ā
Uh Pelatron is just a big blob behind them right now. Trying to see the wing there. There is someĀ
wind blowing around out there. I’m not going toĀ Ā  say it’s dead calm right now. Let’s have a lookĀ
here. Uh it says 4.5k an hour, but it it sure looks stronger than that to me. I always wonderĀ
where they’re getting those weather reports from. probably in a city uh behind in between buildingsĀ
protected. It doesn’t make any sense. Okay. Uh so Brett’s uh working and Brett’s in SouthĀ
Africa. Good to know. Clifton Dawn here. Dawn’s back. Stage seven. Good morning,Ā
Colin. Hey, Don. Good to see you again,Ā Ā  man. Oh, that’s right. Important newsĀ
here for everyone. Uh, July the 11th, 7-Eleven day, guys. Get it? July the 11th,Ā
7-Eleven. Free slurpies. I got to tell JoeyĀ Ā  that today. Uh, guys, today might be one ofĀ
the hardest days of my life coming up. So, I’m up early for this. Feeling way better. IĀ
am recovering. Uh, I’m probably I’m probably back to 90% right now. Am I going to ride myĀ
bike today? I might get a little spin in later. Votes looking back right now. front of the pack.Ā
They’re it says they’re traveling at 60k an hourĀ Ā  right now. The Visma Lisa bike rider and theĀ
JCO Alula rider. Pelaton is really strung out. Uh looking like the Pelaton does not wantĀ
any breakaways to get away today. So MatuĀ Ā  Vanderpole is in the yellow jersey. From the timeĀ
splits yesterday, I was seeing kind of some of the confusion uh I think with the data that wasĀ
coming from the Tour of France website itself. Uh there was someone that commented in the chatĀ
100% and I remember him saying this. He said, “The Church of France times are way off.” AndĀ
as I was doing the commentary there, you know, hands moving in all directions for you guys tryingĀ
to figure things out. Uh I’m like, “This doesn’tĀ Ā  seem right to me. Why are they saying if you guysĀ
remember, you remember?” Uh there was something going on yesterday. Uh so yeah, Matthew VanderpoleĀ
only has the jersey by one second in the end. That was also compounded by the fact that Vizma uhĀ
cranked it up right at the very end there. So they brought that lead down so quick. So basicallyĀ
Ben Healey was up the road. Matthew Vanderpole finished four minutes behind him and the PelatonĀ
with Tatty Remco Kevin Bolon were 7 minutes back. Well that four to seven minute gap that Machu hadĀ
to the Pelon dropped down to like a minute and 35. That’s why he has the jersey by only oneĀ
second. Uh it’s another yellow jersey win for Matthew Vanderpole. Guess what, guys? Uh how manyĀ
yellow jerseys you have, how many stages you win, uh those are all tracked. The number of days inĀ
the yellow jersey, uh that’s an important thing. Tatty was trying to get it back for sure. I didĀ
see in all the replays, Yonas is right there,Ā Ā  too. So again, we talked about it yesterday. A lotĀ
of people saying, “Oh, the chure is over.” And I I’ve actually heard people say that, “Oh,Ā
the tour is probably over now, right?” No,Ā Ā  it’s not. It’s not. It’s not over. Not evenĀ
close. Uh Jonas is right there feeling strong. And actually, he was I saw him in some commentsĀ
uh interviews afterwards. He seemed really upbeat, really confident. Uh hopefully they’ve gotĀ
someone on his team uh sports, I don’t know, psychologist. They probably have those on theĀ
team. uh who gave him a good little talkingĀ Ā  to like hey dude you just had one day that youĀ
were off by 1%. Probably 1 to 2% of your of your real ability. Got some stuff going on here at theĀ
now at the front of the panel. They’re trying toĀ Ā  split it up on the bra on the uh roundaboutĀ
guys. Trying to do it on the roundabouts. You know X trying to getĀ
something established here. Green jersey placed quite well at theĀ
front right now. Binyan’s up there as well. I think it’s all come back together now, guys. AllĀ
back together now. 179 riders. That’s something I want to bring up here. Uh, come back here, guys.Ā
Rankings. I think if we come here, I did want to show you this. So, withdrawals, we lost GhanaĀ
and Bissinger on the on day one. They didn’t even complete the stage. Uh, two strong time trialists,Ā
two important members for both those teams. Oh, I didn’t I didn’t realize that. I’m I’m used toĀ
saying that Bissinger is over at EF. He’s he’s at the Kathlon now. Day three, we launch. LostĀ
Yasper in that horrendous crash. Uh, actually, you know what’s cool? Yesterday, too, hand talk.Ā
Let’s do some hands and stuff like that. Uh, I saw Chris her put a video out. I think he put itĀ
out two days ago. I didn’t actually even watch it. I’m going to watch it today. And the thumbnailĀ
was something like the UCI really overreacted to this talking about what, you know, how theyĀ
find Brian Card for the crash to Yasper. Uh, stage five. During the time trial, thereĀ
was two riders that didn’t start. Oh, I get it now. If you guys go watch back and watchĀ
my stage five, at one point it was I was watching the start times cuz people were asking when areĀ
the hitters going and I’m trying to figure outĀ Ā  the times when they’re going and it kept showingĀ
two riders there. It’s these two riders. They were in the start times, but they withdrew before theĀ
start. They’ve they’ve got DNS’s. S as in Sam, not DNFS as in Frank. Uh, they did not start.Ā
So, when I was looking at it, it was showing them starting, but their start times are likeĀ
four hours before Tatty and Remco. I’m like, they withdrew. UAE are trying to take controlĀ
with a small break. They might try and control. Okay, let’s see how this happens here, guys. UAEĀ
wants to control this. Can Matthew Vanderpole do this one again? Jonathan Milan right at the frontĀ
today. Uh, wow. We’re a long way to the sprint, too. We are a long way to the sprintĀ
point, guys. St. Milo to Murray De Britan. Look how far we are from the sprint point.Ā
Jonathan Milan is right at the front. Close that down. I’ll give you some liveĀ
tracking for a second here as I read the chat.Ā Ā  Uh actually we’ll go we will go through theĀ
commentary here too. See our location in France here. Just working away from St. Melo along thisĀ
uh river system here. Probably a lot of mixing of fresh and salt water. Kind of an estuary settingĀ
here. How far in do the tides affect this and interact with the fresh waters coming in off theseĀ
rivers? So, mixing of fresh and salt water. Uh, okay. 7-Eleven day free slurpie. If you haveĀ
one of those convenience stores near you, uh, near 7-Eleven for me is about 35 minutes awayĀ
up in Olds, but I am going there today. Okay. Uh, V here is saying, “Thank you for sacrificing yourĀ
sleep hours.” Oh, yeah. V, let’s talk about thatĀ Ā  for a second. Uh, guys, the race is on. I’mĀ
watching it. I’m listening to it. I’m giving you the stuff as quick as I can here. So yeah,Ā
today I’m up early. I’m a little bit tired from yesterday and I’m still a little bit I’m not sickĀ
anymore. I’m just recovering. Uh been doing a lotĀ Ā  of sleeping. Antibiotics, the ones I’m taking hitĀ
me so hard. It’s like after I do these streams, I got about an hour in me and then I go just kindĀ
of crater for like about 5 hours. Not sleeping, but just watching YouTube, darkness, uh justĀ
very fatigued. But today we’re doing this. I got to feed the animals. Oh yeah, guys, check thisĀ
out. We have six baby piglets right now. Uh, our big black pig, she’s huge. Uh, sometime the nightĀ
before had six little baby pigs. I wonder if I can get a picture up for you guys. They’re about thisĀ
big. They’re just hanging out out there. Uh, quite the surprise. You would have thought she wouldĀ
have had about 15 of them, but just six of them.Ā Ā  Uh, we also have three kittens on the propertyĀ
right now. They’re 5 days old. They were born on stage one. So, I’m trying to think aboutĀ
how I’m going to name them. And actually,Ā Ā  if you guys watch stage one of my race coverage,Ā
Julian Ella Phelipe wants to do something today, too, folks. He’s 20 minutes behind, 62ndĀ
overall. Riders are still pushing to the front, trying to make something happen here, guys.Ā
Every day is so important for them. So,Ā Ā  in the leading group right now, oh, NeielsonĀ
Powell off the front, guys. EF Education, uh, easy post. They’ve got some confidence fromĀ
yesterday. Like that win by Ben Healey, guys. We can do this. We can do this. That’s what theyĀ
need. And that’s what the other teams need too. Uh generally what happens is once one team startsĀ
winning let’s say Alpas starts winning or the mountain stages UAE Vizma things like that theyĀ
start winning all of it and then the smaller teams they struggle to get involved. Yep. AlfalipeĀ
was attacking at kilometer 21 and now Neil uh Neil Palace is up there. Neielson Palace aĀ
very good cyclist. Very good cyclist. So yeah, I’ll try to get some pics uploaded of the uhĀ
the pigs. Um I will be showing this here too, maybe when this settles down. The action’sĀ
pretty hot and heavy at the front right now,Ā Ā  guys. Pretty hot and heavy. Let’sĀ
just scroll down through here. And here’s the start. See if I can blow this up forĀ Ā  you guys. This is just the roll out theĀ
neutralized start yesterday. Uh today cyclist just cruising along. We don’tĀ
need to see much of that. Uh what elseĀ Ā  can we see? Happy birthday to Pavl CivikovĀ
here. This would be in the morning. They do the team. Remember guys, they gotĀ
to do this every day. They do a teamĀ Ā  presentation every day. The long daysĀ
for these guys. So, happy birthday. And I am going to get right backĀ
to this here. Oh, check this out,Ā Ā  too. Lenny Martinez. So many birthdays here. Okay, that’s right. They’re just talkingĀ
about the team stands here. Visma LisaĀ Ā  Bike right now is the number oneĀ
team. Uh, rated number one team. Jerseys. Matthew Vanderol’s in theĀ
yellow. Jonathan Milan in the green. UAE here. Okay, that didn’t show us much, didĀ
it? Tim Wellins is back in the yellow and Remco in the best young riders jersey. Okay, I want toĀ
get back up to the race, guys. Let’s keep a close eye on this. Ooh, something’s happening hereĀ
now, guys. Oh, great comment here. I love this seeing this. Valentine Mattas, I read a commentĀ
by him somewhere in the interwebs yesterday. Uh it was probably today probably yeah maybe thisĀ
morning Valentine Mattas was saying we need to take opportunities here whilst we’re in Britany.Ā
Uh guess who’s in the breakaway right now folks? Uh he’s sitting really well 25th overall forĀ
Groupama FDJ Valentine Mawas. We’ve also got uh Jeno Burkos. I need a Belgian expert here to uhĀ
give me some pronunciation on that. Neielen Pace. Victor Camponarts, the man himself, Marco HollerĀ
for Twodoor cycling, and Matteo Jorgensson. Are you kidding me? Are they going to let Matteo go upĀ
the road? Okay, it looks like it’s all come back now, guys. You can see here it’s changing so fast.Ā
Now it’s just giving me one. So, that little group just went up, pulled them all back. There’s noĀ
way they can let Matteo Jorgensson go up the road. Not yet. Anyways, uh take a look at the rankingsĀ
again. We’ll look at the GC overall after stage six. One certain Matteo Jorgensson is in sixthĀ
place overall. So, this is going to it’s going to be like this for the first hour of it today, guys.Ā
It’s going to be an hour of this going on and onĀ Ā  and on. Rider’s growing. Riders. Eventually,Ā
though, the leaders at the front, Tatty, Remco, they’re going to just Okay, let them go. let himĀ
go. So, there’s probably some riders that are further down in the tour right now. They’re like,Ā
“Man, I’m half an hour behind. I need to attack now.” And they’re going to let me go. That’sĀ
usually how it plays out. Let’s read the chat. Uh, yeah, again. So, Vidy, thank you for Yeah, backĀ
to that. I’m going to finish that off quick, guys.Ā Ā  Do the stream. These streams are four and a halfĀ
to five hours long every day. They’re super fun, guys. I love it. Let’s have a sip of coffee each.Ā
Let’s have a sip of coffee. Wherever you are, sip what you’re sipping. Um, I race outside. IĀ
tried to do it yesterday. I tried to go to Joey Jojo’s office. It was pouring when I got there.Ā
It had poured the night before. I was going toĀ Ā  battle my way through mowing the grass. It isĀ
a business, so I got to get the grass cut. But it was actually just downpouring as I got there.Ā
left. So, all the gears in my car. I got to get to Olds first. Get my free slurpee. Team uh 7-ElevenĀ
day. Team 7-Eleven. I just said that, didn’t I? Team 7-Eleven back in the day. Ron Keville. Yeah,Ā
Andy. All those guys. Uh then go to her office, mow the grass, 15 minutes, get home, and I needĀ
I’m probably going to have to have a nap becauseĀ Ā  tonight we’ve got tickets to the Calgary StampedeĀ
Grandstand Show, which I don’t want to go to. The And the only reason it’s a lot of fun. So, what isĀ
the Calgary Stampede? It’s uh I think they call itĀ Ā  the greatest outdoor show on earth. Self-branded.Ā
Okay. It’s uh it’s a rodeo. So, it’s like very country, western. Uh there’s lots of country musicĀ
playing, cowboys. Uh it’s us kind of showing the heritage of the area. There’s all the stuff,Ā
you know, where they ride horses and they put on parades. Uh they do the bull busting where,Ā
you know, they ride those 2,000lb bulls uh that do not want to be ridden and they buck guys off.Ā
Uh the chuck wagons are really fun. Taking a look at what looks like a really cool lock here likeĀ
where the they allow ships to pass through. Yeah, it’s a lock controller. There’s a smaller one andĀ
a larger one. Um then there’s like a little stage thing afterwards. People do some dancing andĀ
some kind of whatever halfbake singing. Worst part though I heard was that oh yeah, don’t forgetĀ
we got the fireworks to watch. And I’m like h the fireworks don’t go off till 11:00 p.m. tonight.Ā
And I said, “You’re going to absolutely kill me because when the fires works go off at 11:00 p.m.,Ā
you know, they’ll go off for 5 10 minutes. We got to walk out of the Calgary Stampede. There’s likeĀ
so many people there. It gets worse the later at night you get, get to parking, and it’s a fullĀ
hour drive home.” I said, “So, you’re going to have me out till like 1:00 in the morning to getĀ
up to try to get to bed um to do another string tomorrow morning?” So yeah, tomorrow’s going toĀ
be even worse. But guys, appreciate watching. LoveĀ Ā  everyone being here, guys. We’re already at 120Ā
uh viewers right now and we got four likes. Let’s keep rocking it, folks. Let’s keep rocking it.Ā
My numbers weren’t that great yesterday. Uh but it was a Thursday. Thursday, middle of the week.Ā
Whatever. Let’s move on. We’re moving on, folks. Uh yep. Bium uh Donsson here. Binium Germia isn’tĀ
a pure sprinter, so he likes ones where it’s uh kind of lumpy. Not too lumpy, but just kindĀ
of lumpy. I agree with that. Don saying, “Good to hear you’ve gone over your uh into your recovery.”Ā
Uh love this guy here. Amir Amir Benmore uh Bon coverage, your tour to France 2025. ThankĀ
you, dude. Doug Day will be popping in and out to do yard work today. Yeah, guys, I understandĀ
a lot of you guys got to pop in and out. Uh,Ā Ā  it’s the tour to France, right? This is, I think,Ā
why we love it. You can watch it for a little bit. You can come back. Right now, guys, we’reĀ
at 165 km remaining. It’s all still together. Guys are trying to go off the front. The speedĀ
is super high. I’m waiting for uh we’re 30 km in right now. I’m looking for an average speed.Ā
You can see here, if you look at the commentary, it’s just attack after attack. We had that group,Ā
the Neilson Palace group. They were caught at kilometer 28, kilometer 30. We got more guysĀ
trying to go. They’re all just getting reactedĀ Ā  to and all just getting caught. Again, I’d love toĀ
see the small teams. Let’s get to Kathlon, Unoex, uh, Total Energies. Let’s get them on a freightĀ
train and get them out there. Yeah, they’re really strung out. There’ll be some guys behind trying toĀ
block the Pelaton uh when their riders get up the road. Yeah. Um yeah, Doug, great to have you here,Ā
man. Uh we’ve got Eratraa 4S uh 4G here. Did the stage start? Yeah, the stage has started, dude.Ā
Uh we are about 30 kilometers into it right now. Bignyam’s fine. I know the Aeratrans, they loveĀ
Bignyion. Everyone loves Bing, man. Everyone loves Bing. Uh there I think I mentioned a few daysĀ
ago I was going to show you a video. I’d have to dig for it now. I’ve got a lot of ideas for theĀ
channel, guys. Uh hey, and if you haven’t been, I’ve been watching the tour of Austria.Ā
That’s a really cool race. So I watched thatĀ Ā  uh yesterday afternoon. Uh world tour teamsĀ
with uh continental level teams. There’s like 10 continental continental level teams and five worldĀ
tour teams. And like I’m talking names, you know, uh Isaac Del Toro is there for UAE. Ghartner isĀ
there for UAE. Uh who else was there? I think Bob Young is there. So lots of big names. Uh theyĀ
had an interesting point there. I don’t know who the commentators are. Uh I think the the femaleĀ
commentator, I think it’s Anameique. That’s I’m pretty sure I heard the name. Very knowledgeableĀ
on cycling. So when I hear the name Anameique,Ā Ā  is that Anameik Vanlutin? That’s who I think itĀ
is. Uh they never showed them once. They said that the continental level teams, it’s kindĀ
of their race, I think. So it’s a 2.1 race, so the world tour teams can show up to it. UhĀ
they haven’t won a stage at the Tour of Austria since 2015 cuz the World Tour teams come, right?Ā
So it’s a great place for the World Tour teams to go. You got to realize the tour to France isĀ
on, but there’s other races, too. They’re tryingĀ Ā  to keep their other riders conditioned. They’reĀ
probably sending Isaac there uh to prep for the Welta, you know, since he lost the Jirro. UhĀ
let’s get the Walta. That’s my guess anyways. Okay. Uh Don saying there’s a dude the otherĀ
day who crashed, finished the stage, then didn’t start the next day for stage four due toĀ
a shoulder blade fracture. Uh I’ll have to figure out who that is. Pigs are cool. I used to haveĀ
18 chickens just for the eggs. Fun stuff. Yeah, dude. You know, we’ve got a chicken coop in that.Ā
Just haven’t got around to the chickens yet, whichĀ Ā  that’s the easiest one to do. The absolute easiestĀ
one to do. Uh we don’t really do anything like we’re not harvesting the pigs or anything likeĀ
that. Uh we kind of just they’re I guess they’re like miniature pot bellies is what they are. SoĀ
they’re kind of a little bit hairier. They’re kindĀ Ā  of like pets. They’re they’re very smart, too.Ā
So, I found them born yesterday morning after the stream. I’m like, “Okay, they were bornĀ
sometime between last night and this morning,Ā Ā  and those little pigs are so alert, doingĀ
things. Mom got up when I was feeding her, and the little pigs just follow her. They’reĀ
not like laying down there defenseless.” So, I’m looking forward to seeing them this morning.Ā
I did check on them multiple times yesterday. Uh, let’s see here. Looks like Ashhat Chaturvidi.Ā
What are the chances of Vingo now? Does he stand a chance against Podakar? I would say absolutely. HeĀ
had oneoff day. Let’s have a quick look at that. I like these questions, guys, because I can take aĀ
look at things. We’ll go to the GC again. Matthew Vanderpole in first place, Tatty in second, RemcoĀ
in third. And guys, these are all going to move around all the time. Vingo was in fifth place.Ā
1 minute 14 seconds back. One bad time trial, one bad stage. Tatty could be in fifth and let’sĀ
just say Vingo could be in second. It’s very easy for it to happen. Uh and it has happened before.Ā
The last 2023, Tatty lost 1 minute and 38 seconds in a time trial to Yonas Fingo. So, it’s possible.Ā
Very good to see Yonas being confident and upbeat after yesterday’s stage because after the timeĀ
trial, I mean, yeah, he did just kill himself. Uh, he just looked downtrodden, guys. Pelaton’s allĀ
together right now. 160.8 kilometers remaining. Here’s the live tracking again. You can seeĀ
there’s no breakaways right now. We’ll hang out here for a little bit. Just leave it on that.Ā
I’ll catch up with the chat. I’ll have some moreĀ Ā  coffee. Actually, I think I’ve reduced my caffeineĀ
consumption because of doing the live streaming for I don’t know how many years. It’s threeĀ
per day first thing in the morning every dayĀ Ā  no matter what. Uh now I’m getting about one andĀ
a half. I don’t like cold coffee. It’s getting cold. So I kind of stopped drinking it. Uh thanksĀ
guys. Uh we have reduced my caffeine addiction. Jeff saying 7-Eleven kit was worn thisĀ
year. I think it was uh Vizma. Yeah,Ā Ā  I think you’re right, dude. SomeoneĀ
brought it back, didn’t they? Or Yeah, someone did a really retro. Was it Was it Uno X?Ā
Someone did a full retro out of the blue. Hey, man, we want to, you know, show homageĀ
to this great team from the past. Jeff saying it’s kind of weird toĀ
have this bike race and meanwhileĀ Ā  a couple thousand guys willĀ
Yeah, that’s true, too, man. Yeah. So, I think the chart of FranceĀ
was only shut down for uh World WarĀ Ā  I and World War II. That’s it. I justĀ
started that book. Getting into it now. Uh Don is supporting Benny right now. 50 minutes from Vienna. Doug, is thatĀ
how close you are to Vienna? Really? So yeah, it’s Calgary Stampede time tonight. UhĀ
Doug will know all about that. I think Doug saidĀ Ā  he spent uh 41 years living in Calgary uh beforeĀ
he got to uh do the Euro lifestyle. I love it, dude. What an opportunity thatĀ
would be. It’s kind of like JamesĀ Ā  uh James Delara who lives who’s I thinkĀ
he’s from Seattle originally and now lives in Corsica. Like yeah, I love that.Ā
Dude, again, that’s my fantasy. I’d love toĀ Ā  just say I’m going to go live in my deĀ
Britannia. Let’s do it. Let’s just go. Probably happens more often than you think. Yeah, Isaac’s winning uh Tour of Austria. GoodĀ
confidence builder for him. They got to keep these guys. I mean, training is one thing, but racingĀ
is another. They are showing a break right now offĀ Ā  the front. Will this one happen? Yeah, it’s weird.Ā
Look at that. So, this is what happens sometimes. And now it’s gone. So, there must have been oneĀ
rider like a second off the front. two secondsĀ Ā  off the front. They’re singing happy birthdayĀ
on the team car radio to uh Lenny Martinez. So, quick start to today’s st uh stage.Ā
First hour time I imagine is going toĀ Ā  be quite high. I’ll come back to the race here. Turgis is trying to go. That was probablyĀ
our one guy that had that 1 second gap. So, they’ve been battling now for 39 kilometersĀ
all out at the front. Every time I lookĀ Ā  at the screen over here, they’re swervingĀ
everywhere. Riders reaching up for the radios, asking for directions, tryingĀ
to tell them what’s going on. Uh, yep. Pavle Civico birthday.Ā
Lenny Martinez birthday. Oh, yeah. Pavle’s on team UAE. Very strong rider. and Lenny Martinez who has had a tough start,Ā
one of the most uh promising young riders in the Pelaton thanks to his climbing and aggressiveĀ
racing style which we have seen that we it’sĀ Ā  actually saying it right here in the commentaryĀ
here which he’s demonstrated in Ruan to win the golden jersey for the combativity award. He hadĀ
like three terrible days terrible days. He must have been sick, stress, whatever it may be.Ā
Uh, and then he came out and was at the front. Yeah, Jeff, good question. Why would they scheduleĀ
Austria at the same time as they schedule a tourĀ Ā  to France? Dude, it’s like the women’s tour,Ā
uh, the women’s jurro. It’s on right now as well. I watched that last night, too. Uh, IĀ
don’t think I saw the finish. I think I wasĀ Ā  falling asleep at the end. Uh, I basicallyĀ
went downstairs to bed last night at 8:00. I fell asleep on the couch downstairs. UhĀ
I told Joey, I said, “I just got to startĀ Ā  thinking about resting, knowing that today is justĀ
going to like just compound on me tomorrow.” Yeah, it is showing Anthony Churches at the front.Ā
Really like this guy. Uh had a the start was really good for him. He’s had a couple daysĀ
where he hasn’t done as well, but right nowĀ Ā  we’re just seeing everything sitting togetherĀ
here. Remember the CL the categorized climbs aren’t until the very end. That’s where it’s goingĀ
to get really insane if I do that there. Okay, we’re back to this one. Uh yeah, they got so theyĀ
overlap a lot of races. There’s so many races that overlap. Uh plus they almost need to have otherĀ
races because the teams are so big. Otherwise, these guys got nothing to do. You could onlyĀ
bring eight riders to the tour. Anthony ChurchĀ Ā  was attacking quite hard. Like he’s out of theĀ
saddle sprinting trying to get away. Uh he is with the Pelon now. This was back at a at kilometerĀ
when we had 159 to go. Currently, we only have 155 to go. Number viewers are building, guys. LoveĀ
it. Thank you so much. 150 watching right now. Uh I know it takes about 3 hours in before we got aĀ
ton of people watching, which I appreciate a lot. Don says Turvosia should have Arnold commentĀ
commentating. Yeah, they should. Uh it really good racing there, too. You get to see theĀ
other riders you never see and you get toĀ Ā  see like potentially some upandcomersĀ
there and they’re trying really hard. Uh let’s get back here. Ooh. Uh Don saying, “Chicks are easy to maintainĀ
but difficult to keep alive. There are manyĀ Ā  predators.” Yeah, Dawn. We have like coyotesĀ
coming out of the yin-yang here. Uh, ever since I uh moved my sled dogs on, when I when I got out ofĀ
sled dogs in 2018, we never had coyotes here cuz I had 52 dogs living in that back area behind theĀ
barn. Uh, now the coyotes just walk through the yard. They just walk through the yard. I actuallyĀ
really like coyotes. They don’t stress me out tooĀ Ā  much. But yeah, if you’re going to have chickens,Ā
you need some protection. I got a donkey on the property. So, I got horses and a donkey. AndĀ
donkeys are super tough. Marshall, actually he’s Marshall the mini donkey. Uh there’s a big blobĀ
of riders at the front of the pelaton and there’s 80 90 riders strung out single file right behindĀ
them. The pressure’s on here. I think riders are going to start cracking soon. We’re going to startĀ
seeing the field start splitting apart. Uh we’veĀ Ā  got someone off the front right now. Someone’sĀ
trying again. Valentine Mattas again. Groupama FDJ. It’s kind of his mission today. He knows theyĀ
need to do something. He said it in a a statement earlier. I mentioned it. He’s already been inĀ
one attack. Uh very small gap right now though, guys. It’s only 5 seconds. Will they allow him toĀ
go? He is over 6 minutes behind in the standings as is 25th place right now. It just depends whenĀ
the rubber band will snap. When will they say, “Okay, let him go.” then it takes a whileĀ
before other riders will uh try to jump up. Okay. Uh yeah, Doug Sanders here now. GoodĀ
morning. Thank God it’s Friday. Yeah, Doug, it seems like every day isĀ
Friday to me. Uh but I’m telling you,Ā Ā  being up so early and uh the little bitĀ
of sickness I’ve been going through, it’s been really tiring me out. So,Ā
yeah, I’m I’m glad it’s Friday, too. Uh, Anna, I want to see Matthew Vanderpool winĀ
the tour. He’s a real champion. Not scared to do any everything. Yeah, Anna, I agree. I love theĀ
guy. It seems like he can almost do everything. He just doesn’t have that those climbing theĀ
super super long hills. I would love to see him win it because his his grandfather uh hisĀ
grandfather on his mother’s side uh what do he is that maternal then? Maternal grandfather.Ā
God, I don’t I’ve never understood that stuff.Ā Ā  Uh is the famous Raymond Pulidor who finishedĀ
I don’t know how many times second at the Tour to France. Uh never was able to get it done onlyĀ
because he was racing most of his career against uh Eddie Mks and I think it was Jacques EnkatilĀ
as well. So he had to race against two of the greatest champions of all time. Never got toĀ
sit on the top place on the podium. That’s Mashu’s grandfather. So, wouldn’t it be a coolĀ
story if that could happen? If Machu could win. Dawn likes 10 ounces a day of coffee. Okay,Ā
so here’s the Air Trans coming in giving theĀ Ā  support to Benny. Love it. Got the AirĀ
Traan flag waving strong and proud here. Uh Doug saying, “Congrats to Ben yesterday.”Ā
Yeah, what an off awesome effort by Ben. Uh,Ā Ā  I was watching some of the commentary backĀ
or the coverage back last night. The attack he put in was awesome. They tried to go QuinnĀ
was the first try guy to go with him and he did get back up with him. Uh, great attack. GreatĀ
attack. And that’s what he’s known to do. Did see Eddie Dunar say as well, he said when I sawĀ
Ben go, I knew he was going to win the stage. Uh, and Eddie is showing some good form now.Ā
Eddie’s a really good climber. That’sĀ Ā  why he got in on some of the points yesterday.Ā
Uh, he picked up a couple of KOM points. Yeah, it’s saying right here. Madawas is tryingĀ
again. I just mentioned it and here he is again. Trying to go for it, guys. They knowĀ
they need to do things now. Yeah,Ā Ā  we already know. Uh, team BinĀ
Victorious. Happy birthday, Lenny. Average speed right now is 54.7K anĀ
hour. We’re looking for the firstĀ Ā  hour speed. That’s what I want to see.Ā
Heating up, guys. It’s almost 29° C. Uh, we’re talking like mid to high 80s, I believe.Ā
Maybe 86°, something like that. Fahrenheit. Yeah, I know. Don Don’s got a goodĀ
one here for me. Uh, Doug saying, “Google Hodman, Czech Republic.”Ā
Okay, I’ll look it up, Doug. Uh,Ā Ā  I’ll pull that up on Yeah, I’ll pull it up onĀ
this one here once I get a little breather. Uh Don saying only three days left until the restĀ
day. Dude, I know. I know. The the thing about it is I’ve got the momentum now. I just want toĀ
keep going. It’s like I always tell people here uh like for my inside cycling stuff, it’s notĀ
really good to take any days off. You should just keep going. And ooh, we got someone off the backĀ
here. Who’s this? Uh it is showing Edward Toyins off the back on camera here. Let’s see who it is.Ā
It is Edward Toyins. Is it Edward? That doesn’t sound right. It is Edward Twins. Uh, little TrekĀ
Rider from Belgium. Um, 22 seconds back. Looks just purely like a mechanical to me. I don’t seeĀ
any scrapes on him. Been I fingers crossed, folks. Haven’t really seen any crashes the last coupleĀ
days. Been very safe out there. So hopefully theĀ Ā  nerves and the jitters are out of them now andĀ
we don’t see anything horrific happen again. So Mattoass looks like he’s back now. Pelton’sĀ
brought him back again. 149.6 km remaining. All the hitters are there. We’ve got one group. RidersĀ
are taking their opportunities. How many times can you attack off the front over and over going fullĀ
gas against the world’s best riders before you can’t do it anymore? Intermar well representedĀ
at the front of the pelon. Uno X is up there, too. Everyone’s trying to make their movesĀ
today. Uh, we’ve got another mention of a breakaway here. Who’s it this time? Okay,Ā
this time we’ve got uh Yonas Abrahamson. Okay, it’s back together. It gets to a certain pointĀ
and they bring them back. So, guys are going, it’s been just absorbed over and over and over.Ā
This is going to be a brutal day for the riders uh before we go into a sprint stage tomorrow.Ā
And then I think we have kind of like another kind of a sprint rolling stage beforeĀ
we have to take on stage 10. They getĀ Ā  one day of recovery and then we startĀ
heading towards the mountains. Uh okay. Uh Doug is saying PS nobody from here acceptsĀ
accepts Chetchia as their name. Well, isn’t that the name? Isn’t Chetchia kind of like the casualĀ
way of saying Czech Republic? Am I right about that? Like they’ll say the Cetchia National SoccerĀ
Team or something like that. I’ve heard them use that before. Uh but Doug, let me know. Yeah, we’veĀ
got three stages left till the rest day. Wade. Uh, so the stage finishes on a cat 3 claunt. That’sĀ
right. Murder de Brbert Bratana. Uh, we go upĀ Ā  it twice. There’s a cat 4 version of the mirrorĀ
right before it through the village. And then, uh, guys, I do have that pulled up. WhyĀ
don’t I do that right now for you? We’reĀ Ā  going to do this again. We did this yesterday.Ā
I’ve got it set up already, guys. I’m using a different one today. This is the applicationĀ
I usually use. This is called My Kohl’s. And, uh, you can see the profile here. I so I wentĀ
upstairs last night out of the dungeon and sitting on the couch trying to get some stuff doneĀ
for today and I went to Climbfinder and it’s only Europe. It’s only Europe. I was like, “Okay, I’mĀ
signing up. Give me the premium account. I love it. Let’s go.” Uh probably still will get it. It’sĀ
only Europe. Uh they have a lot of climbs. I think they have more climbs than my coals. This is whatĀ
the Mer De Britannia looks like. Uh we’re talking it’s 129 meters of elevation gain. It’s only 2 kmĀ
long, 1.9 uh max gradient 13% there. Category Oh, they say it’s a category 4 climb here. UhĀ
I think I did read something about it. Just hang on a second here. Uh I think it’s gettingĀ
getting a category 3 uh categorization because it’s at the very end. Now you can see here. Ooh.Ā
Uh, looked like someone trying to attack off the front there in a replay. An EF rider. That mightĀ
have been Neielen again. He almost just crashed into the side of a a building on the side of theĀ
road coming out of the roundabout. This climb is very famous. It’s been used a lot in the past. Uh,Ā
okay. Right here. Where is the Machu Vanderpole one? That’s the one I’m most interested in becauseĀ
that’s the one. In 2021, Matthew Vanderpole won the second stage of the Tur to France inĀ
impressive fashion. On the penalt penultimateĀ Ā  climb, the one before the end of the mirror, heĀ
went to attack and earn himself a bonus second. He got caught and in the final climb at theĀ
mirror, he went on the attack again and the Dutch Dutchman finished first on the mirror. Dertan,Ā
he also took the yellow jersey that day. Awesome. So, it’s also used at the uh what’s this one? TheĀ
bratan classic. That race there. It’s uh west oe t. Uh I think that’s on flow bikes. And also theĀ
tour to France women have used it too. So yeah, that’s the climb guys. That’s it right there.Ā
I’ll show you something interesting. Uh maybe interesting. Let me go back here for aĀ
second. That was the murder of BratanaĀ Ā  real life. I just want to show you somethingĀ
for you ver for you people that aren’t really knowledgeable about virtual cycling. Here’sĀ
the murder of Bratana Wtopia climb portal Zift. It’s the exact same thing. Same thing. It’s a fullĀ
simulation of it. Uh they make it 100 m longer. Same elevation gain. Uh looks like the sameĀ
average gradient to you. Maybe a slightly harder uh max gradient. So, that’s what you can doĀ
inside when you can’t go outside. Here is the actual that’s the mirror. That’s the the theĀ
finished climb. But there’s also this one here, too. This is what they climb before they get toĀ
the first ascent of the mirror. And these are all going to come one, two, three after another.Ā
Wow. The field is absolutely going nuts right now,Ā Ā  guys. Absolutely going nuts. Let’s turn thisĀ
one off. I got some pictures to show you, too. Uh, let me get back in here before I I loseĀ
track of what’s going on. I felt like I wasĀ Ā  losing track yesterday. 145.6 km remaining at theĀ
moment. At kilometer 50, Vanard attacks again. Uh, Matthew’s following right now. It’s saying,Ā
guys, I’m just getting the feed here becauseĀ Ā  it’s so crazy in that live tracking right now.Ā
Uh, they’re coming, they’re going, they’re coming, they’re going. Chat’s the favorite place for meĀ
to be, though. Yeah, this could be a Pogy finish, too. Like for me, if Matthew VanderpoleĀ
is going on the attack at the finish,Ā Ā  Pogy’s the guy that can I think he’s about theĀ
only guy that can beat him in this kind of finish. Brett Rogers. Yeah, Brett. Exactly. Dog one, dog two, dogĀ
three, dog four, dog five. You know what the funniest thing people would always say to me? HowĀ
do you remember their names? And again, I’ll goĀ Ā  back to the classroom example. teachers have 30Ā
students. They might have multiple classes of 30 students and you just know their names. You getĀ
to learn them uh their personalities. Yeah. Did I screw up their name sometimes? Yeah. Like so whenĀ
I would be training dogs and I would train 18, sometimes 20 dogs at a time as long as I had helpĀ
uh in a big string and basically yeah, I’m looking at their butts. I would call dogs by the wrongĀ
names. The dogs didn’t care though. They wereĀ Ā  like, “Oh yeah, he’s cheering me on for whateverĀ
reason.” They’re just dogs. I love dogs. Uh yeah, I I had lots of dogs. I And I give themĀ
theme names. Uh I I actually like to call my dogs by like human names. I did that a lot, too. UhĀ
so I I had a dog named Ryan. Uh Teddy, uh Petey. Petey was one of my main leaders. The scary thingĀ
is there’s dogs I look back, I’m like, I don’t remember that dog’s name. when in the past likeĀ
it was so much work feeding them before I went to the office in the morning in downtown CalgaryĀ
uh which included an hourong drive down the highway work all day drive an hour home feed themĀ
again uh dogs came first before anything to me uh Don’s asking may I may I ask ofĀ
course you can Don uh everything’sĀ Ā  open here how large is your propertyĀ
in acres uh I’m on just under 25 acres So, it’s kind of a I’m right onĀ
I’m in the farmlands, so you know,Ā Ā  it’s kind of got the acreage lookout front. NiceĀ
driveway with the trees going down it, different types of trees. There is an ephemeral creek thatĀ
goes here. Ephemeral runs about once a year, guys. That’s what that means. U there’s another word,Ā
I think it’s called a is it a wazu? Another name that gets used where it only flows seasonally.Ā
Uh which is kind of the same as ephemeral. Uh oh, guys, I did want to say that too. Uh justĀ
thinking about all the people in Texas, uh that have been dealing with this horribleĀ
flooding. Like, dude, it’s a it’s a disasterĀ Ā  there. Uh I haven’t heard any numbers yet. AndĀ
some of some of the damage you see like guys Okay. Are we back? We might be back. Think we’reĀ
back. Let me get back to the chat here. Uh, let me get back in, guys. Let meĀ
get back in. Um, are we live again? Okay. Am I live, guys? Am I live? Trying toĀ
catch up with what’s going on here. Uh guys, we just had a full Starlink reboot. I thinkĀ
I’m streaming. Uh if you guys can see this, let me know as quick as possible. Okay. So, whatĀ
I’m seeing here now, I’m just going to go on as that we are back and live. I’m going to have aĀ
quick listening here quickly. We do have a bitĀ Ā  of a break right now at the front. They’re stillĀ
trying again. Neielson Palace back up there again. Okay, I got to get caught up here. Just trying to get caught up with the stream, guys. We’re back. Sorry about that, guys. Uh,Ā
okay. So, Cole Kane is saying yes. So, guys, just want to confirm. Yeah, guys, that was aĀ
complete Starlink reboot. Um, Starlink really is a good product. has one of the best apps ever.Ā
If you can see that on screen, as soon as I saw that go down, I’m like, what time is it? 5:29 inĀ
the morning. When it went down, it just rebooted itself. I think it’s built in every once in aĀ
while. It just does a full power up, power down,Ā Ā  like as you should on your routers. Uh, it hasĀ
great statistics on it. It’ll tell me, you know, when it goes out, I ping probably like it’sĀ
awesome, actually. Yeah, it just says here, “Your Starlink just powered on in the last few minutes.”Ā
So, it’ll show it searching for satellites. Uh, if you’re ever in a situation, rural property,Ā
where you don’t have good satellite, just get aĀ Ā  Starlink system. I know there’s another brandĀ
coming out. If you want to use a competitor, uh, guys, let’s get back to it here. I got toĀ
catch up with a few of those comments there. Um, yeah, guys, I did say I was expecting thatĀ
to happen. So, if you ever do see that happen, okay, top, it always defaults to top chat.Ā
I don’t like that. Uh, I want to read whatĀ Ā  everyone has to say here. So, thanks for hangingĀ
in there, guys. Uh, and I’m going to back up a little bit here. Dom has asked. So, guys, there isĀ
a break right now. A break has been established. I was able to go grab another coffee, too. GuessĀ
what? Garant Thomas is in the break, folks. Uh, Bodwin for EF. Marco Holler for Tudor. We sawĀ
him earlier. He’s in this break. They’ve got a 5-second gak gap. Garcia Cortina and Costu fromĀ
Archa. Euan Costchu from Archa B&B hotels. Now, is this something that can get established? 10sec.Ā
Wait a second here. How big is the gap? Wow. So, they’re saying it’s a 1 minute 10-secondĀ
gap. Is that real? Let’s take a lookĀ Ā  at the live tracking. Is that ThatĀ
can’t be a 1 minute 10-second gap. Uh, okay guys, let me just get settledĀ
in. The panic, the panic sets in. It’s saying it’s a 1 minute 10-second gap.Ā
I’m going to look at the screen here. Civic at the back right now picking up bottlesĀ
for his team on his birthday. It does say the gap is up to 110 as the Pelaton traveled throughĀ
Denon. Bruno Armarel, this guy is awesome. He did really well at the time trial a few days ago. Uh IĀ
think he’s trying to bridge up to them right now. Let’s get back to the chat. So itĀ
is a 1 minute 10-second gap. Okay, 58 second gap currently. Probably aĀ
little bit of hills in there. Uphill,Ā Ā  downhill. It’s going to make that, you know,Ā
rubber band. I I like to call it accordion kind of accordion in and accordion out. SoĀ
when we left there was no break the Starlink uh shutdown. Got a coffee came back. Love chattingĀ
with you guys. We got 142 people watching right now. Uh swoosh kid. Do you think Bora HanssgrowĀ
has an official changing of the guard from Rajik to Lipoitz? I think we’re going to see itĀ
happen in this tour dude. Good comment. Uh, I think I might have mentioned that yesterday tooĀ
that you know Raj Lick is 36. He’s already had a great career. Did he never got to win a tour toĀ
France, but he’s won lots of stuff. He’s alreadyĀ Ā  had a previous career to this in ski jumping. IĀ
mean, the guy’s a superstar athlete, no doubt. Um, he’s got a family. I think he loves his life. IĀ
think he’s made enough money. I’m sure he lives in the Czech Republic. Actually, no. I think heĀ
lived in Did he live in Monaco? I think RogerĀ Ā  lives in Monaco. So, he’s got a fantastic life.Ā
And his comment was, “Winning the tour is not going to change my life either way.” Basically,Ā
I think he’s already got enough success, he’s got enough money in the bank, uh that to winĀ
this tour is not going to, you know, change his life overnight. He’d be the tour winner and he’dĀ
probably retire. So, yeah. And I think the team is aware of that too. And they’ll probably beĀ
putting more time and emphasis on Lipowitz. Um, but it’ll be a great way to see Roick go out.Ā
I mean, I you know what? I don’t know if I wasĀ Ā  ever really a huge Rajick fan, but give himĀ
credit. He’s put a lot of time into the sport. Uh, so yeah, Swoosh Kid, great comment,Ā
dude. Uh, we’ve got someone here. Uh, I’m not sure what his name is. USA. Uh,Ā
Usafox. Oh, it’s Usfox. I thought it was USA4. Is it a good bet to bet on a Pogy win?Ā
Probably is a good bet to bet on a PogyĀ Ā  win. Do I want to see Pogy win this year? No.Ā
Will he win this year? There’s a good chance. Jeffrey Little’s uh people don’t realizeĀ
that these these point races result in time deductions. actual time from theĀ
clock total. Yeah, it’s a good point,Ā Ā  Jeff. Uh there’s bonus points at the endĀ
of stages and those bonus points will uh get larger as we get into the mountains. So,Ā
like for today’s stage, good time to bring this up here. Let’s go to the route of this one.Ā
Uh I always have trouble finding this one. Where do they show that? Oh, you got to click onĀ
the route itself. Sorry, guys. You think I’d beĀ Ā  a pro at this by now. You go to sporting stakesĀ
here. So, if we look at Why is it not showing it? Uh, I showed it earlier today. Stage seven. I’m not interested in just a a picture. Wow,Ā
that’s so weird. I actually I think if you go to the route itself here, click here. Uh, this one.Ā
This one right here, guys, that’s my fault. Uh, you can see we’ve got points. It’ll give youĀ
the points layout. Here’s the time bonuses. So, if you finish first, they take 10 seconds offĀ
your time. Six po uh seconds for second place, four points for third place. Uh, this couldĀ
be 20 30 seconds by the time we’re in the high uh high mountains. So, there are places whereĀ
you can reduce your time. So, if you can get a breakaway and get 15 seconds ahead, you may endĀ
up pulling 25 seconds back in total with the uh time bonuses. Five riders still in theĀ
front, guys. Uh this is the break of theĀ Ā  day. It’s been established. How long did it takeĀ
for us to get that going? Uh it took over 61 km, sorry, 64 km of cycling to get that done.Ā
Let’s go to the commentary. We should see we’re at kilometer 62 and they’reĀ
saying the gap’s down to 52 50 seconds. They’ve got UAE on the front right now. Uh love to see Amarel get up there. Love to seeĀ
that. Let’s just hang here for now. Uh go through the chat. Uh Chetchi is now the official name.Ā
That’s what I thought. Just like Turkey with an E on the end. Oh, that’s how they spell it. TĀ
R T U R K I Y E. Okay, I didn’t know that is not Turkey anymore. Good to know. Sage Gaston. Okay,Ā
dude is here. Dude is here, guys. Great point, Sage. I’m glad you’re here. Uh, me and my familyĀ
have bets between Pogy and Vindigo. Pogy. Only guy to ever drop Matthew Vanderpole. Yeah. Uh, ElimĀ
here is cheering on Benny. We’re going to get to some pictures here right away, you guys. Yeah,Ā
that was a Starling hiccup. Uh, you know what? It does do it. And generally it happens right afterĀ
5:00 in the morning. Uh, sometimes it doesn’tĀ Ā  happen. Other day times it’ll happen three daysĀ
in a row. So, I was kind of like, oh, it’s going to happen during the tour. Definitely happenedĀ
there. It does reboot itself. I don’t need toĀ Ā  do anything. The dish that’s outside just startsĀ
looking for new satellites and goes, “Yep, got it.” Everything fires right back up. Yeah, we wereĀ
down for a while, guys. We’re back. Uh, we’re all back. Thanks, everyone. Uh, Tony C’s here. GoodĀ
morning. Hey, Tony. Looks like a sprinter stage today. Breakaway of about 2 minutes is good forĀ
the sprinters. They can make that up no problem atĀ Ā  the end. I think it’s a Matthew Vanderpole stage.Ā
Uh, love seeing Grant Thomas here at his final tour to France, working hard on the front. ThisĀ
guy is an absolute legend. I wish he was still wearing his old sunglasses though, the ones heĀ
wore for his entire career. Riding his Pinerella. Uh, this looks like Holler here from Twodoor ProĀ
Cycling. It is Holler. Marco Holler. Sorry about that, Marco. Uh, the EF rider is Alex Baine, 49thĀ
overall the tour. G and G G Thomas. Garren Thomas is 39th overall, best placed in this group. Let’sĀ
look at the Moverstar Rider, Ivan Garcia Cortina, 103rd overall at the moment. And the Arca rider,Ā
Euan Costu, 129th. So, they’ve let this break go, folks. Uh, it’s at it’s saying 1 minute 14 secondsĀ
here. So, the the commentary that’s coming through is kind of all over the place right now. Uh, itĀ
was saying 50 seconds. Uh, I think it’s expanded out again. Going to just zoom out a littleĀ
bit here. Wow, I’m hungry already today. Uh, I didn’t eat a lot for a few days there andĀ
I don’t think I’ve really caught up yet. Ian Holmes here. Hey buddy, keep up theĀ
good work. Ian, thank you so much. Uh, Ian,Ā Ā  you’re the Filipino guy in the Philippines.Ā
British guy in the Philippines, I believe. Uh yeah, dude. I love doing this. I’m going toĀ
keep doing this after the tour is over, too. So, and guys, I know the tour of France is the biggestĀ
race, but the Valta is coming in August. I loveĀ Ā  the Valta. Uh I find the Valta is just Let’sĀ
see what crazy road we can build this year and make these cyclists go over it. They have theĀ
most insane roads. I think they still have uh a team time trial, which I love a team time trial.Ā
um kind of more old school, make it as hard as possible. And there’s a ton of other really coolĀ
stage races coming up. Uh tour of Deutseland. Uh there’s tour of Poland’s coming up. The tourĀ
of Denmark. If I can make it work and people are still interested and still want to like hangĀ
out, have some fun. Uh it’s going to be way less numbers. We all know that. Uh I’m going to do it.Ā
So, let me know what you guys think about that. Uh 161 watching now, guys. Great job. Great job. Uh,Ā
we got some Eratraa love here for Benny. Eratraa, Doug Day. Uh, Joerger still playing competitiveĀ
hockey. Yogger. Yogger still playing competitive, dude. Yeah, I forgot about that. He’s stillĀ
playing. Yarmir Joerger, guys. Uh, the hair, the man, the myth, the legend. I don’tĀ
know how many seasons he played in the NHL,Ā Ā  but it seems like it was 20 plus. Uh, I think heĀ
might have played the majority of his career on the Penguins. We should look that up, shouldn’tĀ
we? Let’s look that up right now. I forgot he was check. Yarmir. Soon as you type the name inĀ
Yarmir, you only get one result. Uh I’m looking this up right now on the little computer. PlayedĀ
on the Penguins with Mario Lemieux. The guy is uh 53 years old, still playing professionalĀ
level hockey in the Czech Republic. So let’s take a look. He was first draftedĀ
by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1990. Okay. He did play for a lot of teams, but IĀ
think the majority of his team, yeah,Ā Ā  he played for 11 years straight with theĀ
Penguins and then he started bouncing around three years with the Capitals.Ā
Uh then four years with the Rangers, then I think he went to Czech Republic. I thinkĀ
he retired uh out of the NHL and went back home. Well, nope. Looks like he played for maybe whatĀ
I would call like a Continental level team. Uh, Avangard OMS. I don’t know what that is. ThenĀ
he went back to the Flyers, the Dallas Stars, the Bruins, the New Jersey Devils, the FloridaĀ
Panthers. Wow. He played for the Panthers. Now the current NHL uh Stanley Cup champions. Okay,Ā
this I didn’t know because I wasn’t following hockey. He played for the Calgary Flames.Ā
Calgary is 55 minutes down the road fromĀ Ā  here. Then he heads back to there. Good. That wasĀ
a good side. Uh chat still playing. Love it. Uh yeah, Yarmagger G is doing well. Yeah, GĀ
needs a good day. Uh I know people were chatting just a few days ago. Uh guys, isĀ
it Inos or Inos? Uh, I heard commentators saying at I think it was the the a tour ofĀ
Austria, they kept calling it Inos. I’m like,Ā Ā  it’s Inos. That’s how I say it anyways.Ā
Inos, the Grenaders. Inos Grenaders. Uh, polka dot jersey here. Tim WellinsĀ
chatting with the Alpison boys rightĀ Ā  now. Everything’s looking friendly right now. Uh, you’d have to be friends with these guys. You gotĀ
to ride with them four, five, six hours a day. Uh, okay. Uh, Noah, we got a new dude here. NoahĀ
Muse. Hey, Noah, where you from? Let us know. Okay. Uh, just let me back up. Yarm Jagger stillĀ Ā  playing competitive hockeyĀ
here because he loves it. Uh, Doug saying something not to the people of theĀ
country, just the European Union. Okay. I’m notĀ Ā  sure what’s going on. Uh, is bidding the breakway.Ā
Noah. Yeah, we’re back to no here now. He’s not right now. Uh there’s a breakaway up front.Ā
It’s 1 minute and 32 seconds. So, this is theĀ Ā  established breakaway of the day, folks. They’veĀ
let it go finally. Uh it took us probably an hour and a half to get to this point of constantĀ
attacks heading in a northwesterly direction across France here heading towards the coastline.Ā
I do want to see if we’re going to encounter any winds here as we go to the coastline. Looks likeĀ
chilled out winds right now. We’re at about 28° C. Uh they’ve got the latest comment we have from theĀ
tour to France commentary is 52 gap at kilometer 62 which is no longer correct. Uh it keeps growingĀ
at the moment. Best place rider in this group is Garand Thomas 14 minutes behind overall. Um theĀ
a lot of these guys would love to get some time back today. I think it’s going to be chill forĀ
a little bit here. It is quite lumpy through the segment too. Quite lumpy. Uh and then we’ll be uhĀ
getting tuned up for the sprint points. So guys, keep the chat going. Really love all your inputs.Ā
Uh we will get to uh Sage is I hope Sage is still around right now. Let me get through here. Don’sĀ
talking about the Aer Master. Tony C hungry. Need to keep your fuel up, buddy, for the tour. GrabĀ
a gel or a protein bar. Yeah, dude. I hear DianeĀ Ā  Sheridan is back. Uh Diane, were you here before?Ā
Diane, I just want to talk to Diane for now. Let’s get Diane’s comments here. She says, “PleaseĀ
consider doing the Tur to France fem.” Diane, I’d love to and I’m going to. Uh, so guys, justĀ
so you know, uh, Tur of France, uh, Fem Azift, uh, because that’s the actual name of it. I think allĀ
of it is. Uh, starts July 27th. So, it starts the second last day of the tour to France for the men.Ā
Uh, so Diane, it’s I’ve got it scheduled now. Um, Flow Bikes is showing it. I’ll be able to do itĀ
this exact same way. Give you all the inputs that I have. And I’ve really been enjoying watching theĀ
ladies race uh the Jira Don, which is the women’s uh Jira de Italia. Guys, it’s awesome racing.Ā
It’s really good racing. And I said before, uh, and again, I hope Diane’s still hangingĀ
out here, the more coverage we give to them, the better the competition’s going to be. WhenĀ
it’s not on TV and no one sees what they’re doing,Ā Ā  that no one really cares. Uh, so they need someĀ
coverage. They’re really good climbers, I’ll tell you that. Uh, I think my favorite cyclist is, sheĀ
just happened to be wearing the pink jersey a fewĀ Ā  days ago, and I think she got it back. Uh, she’sĀ
a tall time trialist from uh, you know, a guy, you know, I like time trialist, right? tall timeĀ
trialist. I think she’s Swiss or Austrian. I think her first name is Marlin, like M A R Len. Uh MovarĀ
Rider. Uh really strong rider. They really go hard on the attacks. So yeah, definitely going to doĀ
it. Uh Noah Musi here is from Ethiopia. Dude, tuning in from Ethiopia. I love it. Uh yeah,Ā
Diane. Yeah, that would be awesome. Yeah, Sage is still in the mix, guys. Let me do thisĀ
here quickly, guys. Uh, so we’re at a 136 gap here. What we’re going to do right now, Sage wasĀ
in the the chat. I think stage four, maybe stage five, and he says, “Hey, I’m going to be at stageĀ
six.” I’m like, “Dude, if you get some pictures,Ā Ā  send them to me. I’d love to show them.” Uh,Ā
so guys, let’s put the spotlight on Sage. Uh, we’ve got the slideshow here. What I’m goingĀ
to do is bounce this up first and hopefully I don’t turn any of my stuff off. Guys, hereĀ
we go. This is direct from Sage. So guys, uh these pictures, Sage was out on stage six, justĀ
yesterday’s stage. Um I did message him back this morning. I said, “Dude, tell me where you’re from.Ā
Uh tell me your wife, spouse’s name.” Um so, Sage, if you can do that here, that’d be great. I loveĀ
the background stories on people. Why are youĀ Ā  there? Do you live nearby? Are you from halfwayĀ
around the world? But let’s take a look here. These are some of SA uh Sage’s pictures. SageĀ
Gastan uh pictures from the tour itself. Let me just quickly bounce back here. Uh I want to doĀ
this, folks. It’s on the wrong picture here. So, here’s a picture of Vout Van Art going by withĀ
his Red Bull helmets. Uh the motorbike cameraĀ Ā  right on him uh as he passes by. Looks like he’sĀ
having a quick uh chat, a snack, and this is Sage taking a picture of him as he goes right by inĀ
front of him. Pick two. Uh, I’m assuming this is Sage back here, unless he takes pictures ofĀ
strangers. Uh, and I’m assuming this is his wifeĀ Ā  here. I’m seeing a lot of these polka dot hats inĀ
the background. This is just some small town in the middle of France enjoying the tour to France.Ā
Great shots here, guys. Great shots. Love this. Looks just a little story. Now, they totally getĀ
into the tour to France here. And if anyone else is in the area and you got pictures and you wantĀ
to show them, just send them to me. just reachĀ Ā  out to me inside Cycling World on Facebook.Ā
Uh I did check it and I’m glad I checked it because there was a message from Sage yesterday.Ā
Uh riders going by. This is the Pelaton going by glaring at the sun. Sage looks like he’sĀ
having a great time as the Leal TrekĀ Ā  car goes by. Love it. Rocking the baseballĀ
cap, keeping the sun out of the eyes there. Everyone’s looking happy here. Look at theseĀ
small roads in the background. Ooh, the roadsĀ Ā  look really rough here, too. Absolutely love it,Ā
man. The vibe, the feeling, the culture. Yeah, like I would love to go do like tour to France.Ā
France Jirro Valta. Just Yeah, I’m going to live there for a while. Just follow the stages, followĀ
the tours, get to meet people, try to learn their languages. Uh I’m that guy like if you goĀ
somewhere, try to learn the language. Try to learn the language. Uh, when I go to Mexico allĀ
the time, you know, to for my terrible Spanish, um, I watch TV all the time there late atĀ
night. I’m watching some movie. It may be a movie I know and that’s even better. AndĀ
it’ll have the subtitles on the bottom. So,Ā Ā  I’m listening in Spanish and I’m reading inĀ
English and I’m like, “Oh, that means that that’s how you use that word.” Great way to learnĀ
uh another language is use those subtitles to your advantage. more buildings of the area. Uh littleĀ
cafe here. Welcome tour to France. Uh Bayou. Oh, this so this must have been the starting day.Ā
And this picture here. So I I didn’t get any info from Sage as to what all the pictures were, butĀ
this looks like uh all the swag, all the freebie goodies they got from the caravan before it wentĀ
by. I think that’s what that is. Just reading uh yeah, just radio checks here for the teams.Ā
I’ll get back to the race here right away,Ā Ā  guys. Uh I Yeah, this must be It looks likeĀ
they’re in their apartment. Uh their Airbnb, whatever it is they’re staying in here. Uh thisĀ
must be Sage here. That shirt looks familiar toĀ Ā  me. Kind of wearing uh Let’s go back one second.Ā
No, it’s not. Sage is wearing this shirt. Okay, so that could be someone different.Ā
But you know, the the yellow cap. Oo,Ā Ā  I like that yellow cap. Polka dot, red hats, someĀ
snacks, some pretzels thrown out here, little flags. These are all looks like all the goodiesĀ
you get at the Tour to France. Love it, Sage. They’re getting radio communications from uh theĀ
teams are even telling their riders, “Hey guys,Ā Ā  this is where the feed zone is. This is where ourĀ
guys is going to be.” Ryder is probably desperate trying to figure out where where’s my feed guy?Ā
Where do I get my feedback from? Sage, once again,Ā Ā  thank you. He did have a video as well. IĀ
just didn’t have enough time to get it. So, I woke up at 3:15 for the 410 start.Ā
Uh downloaded these. I’m like, “Okay, now I got to make another source. I’ll probablyĀ
just throw that on uh tomorrow stage. Just showĀ Ā  the pelon going by.” Thank you so much, Sage.Ā
Back to the race, guys. Back to the race. So, I need to jump to this one here and then confirmĀ
you’re seeing what I’m seeing. Yes, you are,Ā Ā  Reuters. Less you are. Uh, okay. Let’s look atĀ
the gap now. 1 minute 23 seconds. Same as our four guys. Cost you Garcia, Cortina, Holler,Ā
Bodwin, and Thomas in the front group being pursued by the entire Pelaton. No one off the backĀ
today, folks. Check out the commentary here. Oh, Matia Katana for Sodal Quickstep retires fromĀ
the race. Haven’t given a reason why. Uh there was no mention of crashes, so I think this isĀ
just like a nagging injury. Uh we’ve got crowdsĀ Ā  on the side of the road cheering on AlexisĀ
Rainard. Must be a local here. Kofodis Ryder, I believe. Let’s just confirm that. Let’sĀ
confirm that, folks. Looks like we’re probably heading through his hometown. Uh I wonderĀ
if they’ve mentioned that on the stream yet. Uh this dude right here. Yes, dude. I loveĀ
this. So, this guy is going to get to ride uh very closely through his hometown, I believe. So awesome. Okay, heard that. Going to catchĀ
up here, guys. So, yeah, guys,Ā Ā  hope you really uh like those pictures from Sage. Okay, uh just going to back up a bit,Ā
guys. So, yeah, back to Diane. Yeah,Ā Ā  Diane, I’m really excited to do ladies racing.Ā
I think it needs more coverage and I have a ton of respect for them. uh when I do actually do aĀ
lot of cycling. So I’m looking at the numbers, how much power can I output my wattsĀ
per kilo, things like that. I see whatĀ Ā  the ladies are doing. So, you know, full grownĀ
guy, full grown man, uh 6’2, 200 lb, you know, think I’m a normal size. Uh then I see this littleĀ
tiny, okay, don’t get me wrong, little tiny woman, almost a girl to me. Uh they’re very young and theĀ
numbers they put out are mindblowing. Like I can’t even touch them. Uh it’s really impressive to seeĀ
and so yeah, I want to be that guy to cover that racing. So I’m going to do it. Uh yeah. So Noah’sĀ
from Ethiopia. Great to see you watching, dude. Doug here saying, “Yeah, Doug knows. LastĀ
city play for bopful season. Cowtown,Ā Ā  Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Folks, I’ll beĀ
there tonight. Staying up way too late, watching fireworks that I don’t care about.Ā
Driving home uh as the chauffeur as JoeyĀ Ā  sleeps all the way home. Uh trying to get to sleepĀ
probably not till 2:00 in the morning to wake up 2 hours later. I’m always thinking, should I go toĀ
sleep? Suggestions, strategies for tonight, guys. Do I think Bingum will win the greenĀ
jersey? Uh there’s a chance. Uh,Ā Ā  it’s not going to happen right now. Let’s takeĀ
a look at the rankings actually for the green jersey. Great question here. Uh, BingumĀ
right now. Okay, that’s the standings. Uh, we need the general ranking. Bingam is in fourthĀ
right now. He’s only nine. Uh, he’s only 10 points behind Jonathan Milan. There’s 20 points availableĀ
for first place at the intermediate check. There’s 50 available today at the end. So if Bingan wonĀ
the sprint today at the end, he would vault right to the front. Even if Jonathan Milan wonĀ
the intermediate sprint uh today as well, 20 points for the intermediate, 50 for theĀ
finish. Uh they they plan these races out to kind of develop the competition to increase the uhĀ
the how people are going to go about the stages. 1 minute 13 second gap right now, folks. Uh I’mĀ
trying to figure figure out why Katano left. Yeah, asking here from the experts. Uh,Ā
how many times have the tour finished atĀ Ā  Murray Debertan and who won on the lastĀ
occasion? I already know that answer. Uh, overall four times. Actually, you know what? IĀ
think it’s been there before then. I think it was there in the 60s as well. They’re sayingĀ
four times in 2011. Who was the winner?Ā Ā  They’ve been through here though before that.Ā
They’ve used it a lot. Uh, four times. 2011, Cadel Evans won. 2015, Alexis Villeros.Ā
2018, the Irishman Dan Martin. And 2021, the most recent with the exact sameĀ
finish as today, Matthew Vanderpole. Uh, and it’s saying that the Alpison riderĀ
Dillier is pulling at the front right now. So, Alpison, Decoynic, and Nails Polllet are workingĀ
hard at the front trying to bring the gap down aĀ Ā  little bit here. Uh, it’s quite punchy. TheyĀ
don’t want to get them too far ahead. Yeah, we’re in the home territory of Alexis Rainard. TheĀ
fan club’s out in force, folks. Fan club is out in force. Here’s our gaps. 1 minute 15 seconds backĀ
of the Pelaton. Whenever I see a 38 second back, one rider up back here. Uh, Luca Mezek fromĀ
Slovenia. Team Jo Alula looks like a mechanical to me. I’ll probably catch the coverage hereĀ
coming up right away. Matthew Vanderpole lookingĀ Ā  awesome in yellow. I think he looks the bestĀ
in yellow. Tucked in with the Alpon team here. A little bit of support from UAE. Uh they areĀ
pushing hard now at the front. They’ve got theĀ Ā  Pelaton stretched out through the big roundabouts.Ā
Swinging to the right on this one. quick right and then I’m further right on the next exit of theĀ
roundabout. Love the countryside of France. What a way to live. What a way to live. Uh I do want toĀ
catch up with the chat again here. Uh Diane saying four seconds last year between first and second atĀ
the tour of France uh feminine. I’ll call it that. Uh we’ve got uh a wet here a tisay. I see thatĀ
name a lot. T S E G- A Y. Very looks like a very common Eratrayan name. I’d love to know how toĀ
pronounce that. Someone could maybe if someone from Eratraa can kind of spell it out phoneticallyĀ
for me uh and I’ll try to pronounce it properly. Uh so uh Awet here uh is from Eratraa and IĀ
know it cycling is huge in Eratraa. They have a huge system of races there. Uh Neil RushbyĀ
here, Muckers Worldwide, uh racing over on Ruby. Neil creates all the races there, all theĀ
events, I should say, for Muckers Worldwide,Ā Ā  and they keep the blog running for them. Uh Neil’sĀ
just popped in to say, “Hey, just watching on my dinner break.” Yeah, Neil, I’ll be back to doingĀ
some more of the normal stuff once I survive the tour to France. Uh this is taking up a lot ofĀ
my time. Uh, it’s early prep in the morning, you know, wake up, turn your face on, stream for 5Ā
hours every day, finish, try to recover at night, more prep. I’m probably putting I wouldn’t beĀ
surprised if I’m putting seven hours a day intoĀ Ā  this. So, it’s not a full-time job. Uh, but itĀ
feels like it. Sage Gastan, thanks, Colin. Dude, thank you. Thank you so much. You made that partĀ
of the channel for me. Uh, we all want to be Sage. So jealous. I’d love to get a motor home andĀ
travel, dude. Yeah, that’s a dream, isn’t it?Ā Ā  That is a dream. Sage is saying was amazing.Ā
Sage, where are you from? Let us know where you’re from. Got some air training love here asĀ
well. He’s saying the French are so friendly. So, I don’t think he’s from France. Yeah, that’s SageĀ
Gaston. Brett Rogers number one commentator today, folks. Just want to point that out. 207 watching,Ā
guys. Love it. Thank you so much. Uh the likes are starting to pile up. We got 55 likes right now.Ā
Let’s keep them rocking, guys. Uh it gets out to other people and it really reflects in the numberĀ
of people that show up and watch. Got one rider off the back here, Jolula. Ah, it’s Luca Messk.Ā
He’s out the back. Yeah, it is showing him here.Ā Ā  So, they’re now catching up with what happened toĀ
him. Nice looking bike here. He’s riding a giant for JCO Alula. Rear wheel change. Come on, dude.Ā
These rear wheel changes just seem to take forever now. As a rider, this must be so frustrating. ButĀ
you know what? With some of these younger riders, this is all they know. They’re not used toĀ
the old quick release. They could change a wheel like I swear in 5 seconds. Now it seemsĀ
like every wheel change is 30 seconds long. Good thing is he’s still in the cars. He’s fine.Ā
Pelon being stretched out right now by Alpasynco and UAE. Matchu’s uh about six from the frontĀ
right now. Going to keep a close eye on that. 1 minute 34 second gap right now. Uh, okay. So,Ā
let’s just keep an eye on that there for now and just see what the commentary is saying here.Ā
If they’re catching something I’m not. StillĀ Ā  the same stuff. Alpison pulling out the front.Ā
UAE UAE rider Neils Plet on the front right now helping Alpison out. They want to bring this downĀ
a little bit. Um, okay. Abraham Gabriian is here. Yeah, Sage is saying lots of swag. Yeah, heĀ
got lots of swag. Uh, okay. Awesome. Here. New rider here. New viewer. Typical baller. Uh,Ā
loving the content. We’re from Ottawa. Hey, Ottawa. Good to see you, man. Dude, I’ve neverĀ
been to Ottawa. Think I might have passed by by Ottawa way back when. Actually, no, I didn’t cuzĀ
I landed in Montreal, then I went to Quebec City,Ā Ā  and I think Ottawa is the other way. I’ve neverĀ
been to Ottawa. Great old city, great buildings. Uh, I just Google translated. Okay, thank you. How many levels did Benny climb?Ā
Uh, I think I think maybe you’re asking what position he is right now in the green jersey. IĀ
believe he’s fourth overall in the Green JerseyĀ Ā  right now. He could easily be back in the greenĀ
jersey today. Just depends how his legs feel at the end. It is a tough little finish. Uh it’s notĀ
an all it’s definitely not a pure sprinter finish. So like today I’m not putting uh my money onĀ
Jonathan Milan to win at the end. Jonathan Milan in the middle. Yeah, I’m going to put my moneyĀ
on Jonathan to win at the intermediate sprintĀ Ā  and get 20 points or basically do as good as heĀ
can. And remember, it’s all about consistency in the green jersey. You got to score points atĀ
any opportunity that you can. Uh EF Education is talking to their rider in the group. You’veĀ
got to try and keep calm from now in this move,Ā Ā  Alex. Okay. It’s not on how much you guysĀ
push, it’s what on what happens behind. Good, good point. Uh this is Alex. Uh they call himĀ
Alex. This is Baine here. Bodwin. Alex Bodwin from France. 24 year old rider sittingĀ
49th overall. Nice positioning here. And yeah, still the same stuff from two. OhĀ
no, no GC threat in the breakaway. Correct. Uh Gon Thomas is too far behind now at 14Ā
minutes down. So they’ll let people go up the road that aren’t a threat to the frontĀ
or a threat to the stage victory. There’s always that going on as well. You can seeĀ
here we are heading back to the coastline.Ā Ā  We’re going to travel through this townĀ
here. Uh place I’ve never heard of. I I it’s fascinating to me to look at maps andĀ
think, “Wow, there’s another whole world here.” this town of what’s it called? Plenuf VanĀ
Andre. Val Andre. This looks like it’s probably a really nice beach here throughĀ
here. Just I can see the curve of it there. Uh we’ll be going through uh we’reĀ
going along the side of the bay deak. Briuk. Ah here’s the town of St. Bri. BriukĀ
probably very maritime base. Lots of fishing, coastal activities here. SprintĀ
point comes right after that town. Let’s get back to the race here. 171 inĀ
the mix right now. It’s only going to grow, folks. Thank you so much, Joey Jojo in the mixĀ
now. She just rolled out of bed. Uh Sage Gash, there was so many unique uh art on allĀ
the windows all over town. Yeah, Sage, what an experience, man. Is this the firstĀ
time you’ve uh gone to the tour to France? Uh Missfina, when is it gonna start?Ā
Stage seven is live right now. I’m giving you an audio commentary uhĀ
from the stage as I’m watching itĀ Ā  go down using the tur of to France uhĀ
for all the data in the background. I’ll show you where we’reĀ
heading again today, folks,Ā Ā  just so you get a feel uh as to whereĀ
we are in the world here. the route. Oh, where is that video I want to show you guys? Videos from the stage. See, there’s no videosĀ
right now. Huh. Really weird. Seems like every day I come here, they change something up onĀ
me. We don’t want to see the sporting stakes.Ā Ā  Zoom in on the stage. This is what I wantĀ
to see. Just so you guys can see again. So, this is where we started today in St.Ā
Malo. uh Walt City here on the coast heading out through the countryside. Very lumpyĀ
today. Uh we’re going to see when we get back to uh we’ll go be going back to the coastline theĀ
direction I was talking about here. Uh you’ll see a big inbaitment coming up. That will be St.Ā
Bri. It’s right here directly ahead of us. Uh we go along the coastline there. Yeah, there is aĀ
really nice beach there. Did you guys just seeĀ Ā  that? Okay, I’m going to back it up. Sorry, guys.Ā
We’re backing this baby up here for a second. Uh, let’s see how I can do this. Before when I wasĀ
looking at the map, I go, I bet you that’s aĀ Ā  really nice beach. Look at all the sand rightĀ
here. Really nice beach there. Uh, this is the town of St. Brio. And the Sprint Point is in thisĀ
area right here where we’re go traveling right now through the countryside. At the end,Ā
you’re gonna see there’s the firstĀ Ā  passage and the second passage. That’sĀ
how the race finishes today. There is a third climb that happens through theĀ
village right before we start the merit. Jump out of that. We’ll get back in here, guys. Uh let’s close that down. Back to the stage. BackĀ
to the chat. Let’s keep it going, folks. 1 minute 40 second gap right now is growing. It’s growing.Ā
And it looks like Mezgeek is just about to get back into the Pelaton. Alpison still driving atĀ
the front. Uh yeah, Joey’s awake. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Colin, good stuff. Uh Jeff Lis, MatthewĀ
Vanderpole said he’s going for the green thisĀ Ā  year. Yeah, I could see him getting it veryĀ
easy. You just got to play the green points. They’ll set the stages up for you toĀ
get max green jersey points and thenĀ Ā  the other points that get taken will beĀ
taken by a climber uh who’s way down in the points. They’re going to kind of absorbĀ
those green points from the other sprinters. Okay. Uh catching up again. Uh okay. Anna’s here. Anna AK. Anna, uh, Milan feels like most on fire forĀ
the green shirt this year. Yeah, I agree. Uh, I think Jonathan Milan right now is theĀ
absolute allout most powerful and fastestĀ Ā  sprinter in the Pelaton right now. Uh, there’sĀ
other fantastic sprinters. It’s a matter of uh timing and positioning uh and alsoĀ
your leadout train is all those things. Uh Jeff’s here saying that YasperĀ
Philipsson’s acceleration is farĀ Ā  more powerful than Bingham at the line. Jeff saying remember that year and Pogy wonĀ
three jersey. Oh yeah, I could see him winningĀ Ā  the white jersey, the climbers jersey and the theĀ
yellow jersey. Yeah, he’s been around. I think was Pogy’s first tour of France 2020. Was that hisĀ
first? I got to I got to check into that. Uh Sage, Santa Cruz, California. Awesome, Sage. Again,Ā
thanks so much for sharing that stuff with us,Ā Ā  man. Awesome. Hopefully, you’re sticking aroundĀ
to follow the tour a little bit more. Uh, it’s probably hard to do, finding places to stay,Ā
traveling along with the tour. Let us know. Uh, we might be doing it next year. Doug Brown inĀ
the mix. Just good morning all. Just landedĀ Ā  in Amsterdam on route to Nim again for theĀ
walk. Oh, he’s doing the walk. That’s right. So Doug here uh he’s in Amsterdam. So he’s inĀ
the Netherlands uh traveling to Ne to Nimagan which is a very important location in WorldĀ
War II. Uh he’s doing a 4-day walk where they walk 40 km every day. So basically 25 milesĀ
every day over 4 days, sorry, 25 miles every day for a distance of 100 miles, 160 km. Uh andĀ
I think it is kind of like a war history walk. Doug, maybe you want to let us know a bitĀ
more about it. It’s something I forgot toĀ Ā  actually mention to my friend Mike. Um, IĀ
I I think it’s like a historical walk. I’m not sure if it’s meant to represent the passageĀ
of the troops in the area or Let us know, Doug. Jeff saying, “Actually following the tour ofĀ
France in the van is a pain in the butt becauseĀ Ā  you were constantly setting up, packing things,Ā
driving on, and so on.” Yeah, I could see that, dude. I would just be in a car. uh have UberĀ
Uber Eats deliver me food directly to my car every day and not unpack. I’m not going toĀ
cook once. So yeah, just showing on screen right now to there’s a 1second gap betweenĀ
first and second place. Uh showing Ben Tomas in the cars here. Let me have a look here. We doĀ
have someone off the back. Is this Meek? Yeah, Meek still trying to get back on. Tells meĀ
that the Pelaton is really moving right now. Uh the gap to the front 1 minute 44 seconds. Let’sĀ
see if we can get some videos of what’s been going on today, folks. Let’s watch this. This isĀ
from earlier, guys. This is when the brace breakaway was forming earlier on. Here’s our fiveĀ
riders. These are the five that were allowed to go earlier on. And that’s basically how it work,Ā
guys. They’re allowed to go. Uh it’s not very often you see someone so powerful that they canĀ
actually get away. It’s just constant pressure. constant pressure, constant pressure, andĀ
then finally it breaks and the leadersĀ Ā  are just kind of like, “Yeah, you knowĀ
what? Just go. We’ll catch you later.” 90 km into the stage at a gap of 140. It’sĀ
the most recent stuff going on here. Uh, next big exciting action for the day is this sprintĀ
point coming up, the intermediate sprint. Uh, Jonathan Milan will be out in full force. I thinkĀ
shortly we’re going to see uh Leel Trek coming to the front. They’re going to have to start presĀ
pro providing some assistance to the front. UhĀ Ā  remember those guys out front, even though they’reĀ
not in any contention for the sprint jersey, will be stealing away uh really good pointsĀ
towards the green jersey. So, at this point, the teams that are vying for the greenĀ
jersey, uh, Matthew’s team, Jonathan’s team, uh, Bingham’s team, Intermar, they’re going toĀ
start thinking, man, we got to start getting this, uh, breakaway group back. So, that’s going to kindĀ
of hurt the breakaway. We’re going to start seeingĀ Ā  Interwar Mar come to the front. Trek, they’reĀ
going to have to start adding some firepower to the front now. Uh, Alpas will probably say,Ā
“You know what? We’re not doing anymore here. You guys can start helping us. I’m sureĀ
the I’m sure the writers probably startĀ Ā  yelling at each other, too.Ā
Uh, okay. Moving on, guys. Brett Rogers. Love it, man. Good luck toĀ
Doug Brown. Yeah, Doug. Have a great timeĀ Ā  doing that. Doug. Yeah, Doug. Totally, man.Ā
Send us some pictures of what you’re doing, too. I’d love to see it. Uh, I’m reallyĀ
fascinated with all the history here andĀ Ā  uh I think the war memorials areĀ
fantastic. uh just in the respect fashion, right? I’m not saying I like to see cemeteriesĀ
of people that passed away. Uh just the respect uh 2020 is Pogy’s first tour of France FangĀ
Dawn and he won. This would be a six tour for his fourth win. He came in secondĀ
place to Jonas two times. That’s right. James Delera back from a swim in the MediterraneanĀ
Sea. Oh man, I’m jealous. Lunch and then the tour to France. I love it on TV and listen to you.Ā
Thanks. No, thank you, James, for being here. Oh, okay. Anna, I don’t know why I thought youĀ
were up in Alaska. I just saw Anna aka she’sĀ Ā  in Cape Town. Winter here. That’s right.Ā
Full-blown winter in Cape Town. Uh Anna, how bad does it get in Cape Town in theĀ
winter? We gotundred and looks about 180Ā Ā  people in the 170 people uh viewing rightĀ
now, guys. Love it. Thank you so much. Think we might have an interview coming. Oh,Ā
I don’t even have my stereo set up today. I’llĀ Ā  have to get this going, guys. See if we can getĀ
something going here. Turn that volume down. See what this interview is going toĀ
be. Have a sip of coffee, everyone. Feeling good. Good day ahead, folks. Uh, soĀ
update for everyone. If you just jumped in,Ā Ā  we’ve got five readers in the breakawayĀ
group pursued by the Pelaton. Uh, which is all the other riders. Winds areĀ
coming a little bit from the rear right now,Ā Ā  but they’re very light. We’ve climbed 960 mĀ
of our total of 2400 meters of climbing today. Anna saying it’s so cold she needs five blanketsĀ
when watching the race. Anna, so where you live, uh, Anna, did you know I was in Cape Town for aĀ
while? Way back when, 1974? Uh, maybe 73 even. So, you’re in Cape Town. I know your winters aren’tĀ
that severe. Uh, how do you heat your house? Is there heating? Is there like central heating?Ā
If you guys know what I mean by that. So,Ā Ā  I know in some parts of the world they justĀ
use like the radiators, whether they be like a a boiled water radiator or an electric uhĀ
radiator. They put them under the windows and other places around the house. Here, we usedĀ
a forced air furnace like central heating. So, there’s a big unit in the basement that cooks upĀ
natural gas and blows hot air around the house. I imagine where you are I well I imagineĀ
where James is there’s no central heating. Uh so she’s in Cape Town. She’s got fiveĀ
blankets on. Brett Rogers. It’s finally a gorgeous day in Cape Town though. WeĀ
needed this. Our shorts need to dry.Ā Ā  Uh so this is when you get your rains.Ā
Brett Rogers. I’m surpris I’m actually shocked how many South African uh viewersĀ
we have here. It’s great. Quite a few. There’s quite a few of them here. UhĀ
obviously cycling hot spot in South Africa. Uh Brett’s saying here we don’t heat our housesĀ
and we don’t have double glazing. That’s why weĀ Ā  cry every winter. Uh Brett, we’re at tripleĀ
glazed windows here. That’s how we roll. When it’s minus40 Celsius and the wind’s blowing atĀ
even Well, yeah. You look up windchill charts. It’s fascinating. If it’s minus 20, if it’sĀ
minus30 and it blows even like a 10 mph wind, it feels like it’s like minus 45. Your skinĀ
will start freezing in 30 seconds. The like the impact on your body is so immediate. Yeah, weĀ
are triple glazed. So, not all mine on my house uh that’s been around for a long time here inĀ
Canada. Triple filled, triple glazed. Um, and they’ll have like special gases in between thatĀ
help insulate more. Our newest window up front, we had to replace a gigantic window.Ā
Uh, I think it’s like 10 ft wide. Uh, it’s all triple. Just better for insulation here.Ā
I think they even have government tax incentives uh to help people to replace their windows to getĀ
better windows in. Dawn’s back. Hey, Dawn. Where you at right now, dude? Hello everyone. How’s itĀ
going? Getting ready to fly back to PennsylvaniaĀ Ā  and leave beautiful France. We had a lovely time.Ā
Great to spend part of it with you guys. Lifelong friends. Hey. Hey, Don. Thank you so much.Ā
Remember guys, Don is the dude that sent usĀ Ā  pictures from stage 4. Uh really appreciate that.Ā
Dawn heading home today. Uh Don, hopefully you get home safe and sound and you can get back and enjoyĀ
the tour to France. Uh summertime for Dawn. Uh I know Don I think Don said he was a teacher, soĀ
he’s on vacation anyways. So good for Don. Don, get back home, relax, enjoy the tour with us.Ā
Brett’s saying, “No, bro. We have breezes going straight through our houses, but we only getĀ
to maybe 4° Celsius, so we don’t get colder.” Uh, Don saying, “My pleasure.” Thanks again, Don.Ā
Uh, yeah. Well, 4 degrees CCelsius. If it’s windy, it’ll start feeling cold. I’ll tell you whatĀ
it is right now. here. We know we like our weather stuff here, too, right? Uh I think itĀ
cooled off pretty good last night. Right now, 7° C. We’re going to 24° today. Uh let’s seeĀ
if we have any late day thunderstorms. So, when I go to that uh Calgary Stampede rodeoĀ
thing tonight, guaranteed we’re going to getĀ Ā  rained on and guaranteed. I told Joey, I go, “DidĀ
you get us good seats?” Cuz if you get good seats, it’s right up front. You get soaked. If youĀ
get the cheaper seats, you’re under the cover further back. You don’t get soaked. Uh they’reĀ
not calling for any rain today, but we’re at the time of year in July here that late in theĀ
day, every day there’s a huge thunderstorm. Uh hey Cole, awesome, man. Uh he’s saying,Ā
“Callin, I’ll start to follow you on Straano.” Uh awesome, man. I’ll follow you back when I see itĀ
right away. Uh, don’t look for any activities meĀ Ā  for me for the last three days because I haven’tĀ
done a thing on the bike. Guys, if you’re just a cycling fan, a lover of the tour to France,Ā
a lover of French culture and sceneries. Uh, what is Strava? Strava is a tracking device.Ā
They’re showing uh a flashback from 2013. Guys, I want to hear what they’re saying here.Ā
Big sprint finish here. Huge crash. I’m thinking this looks like Gripple to me. GrielĀ
went first. Kitel comes right over his shoulder. I think KD might have been one of the strongestĀ
sprinters ever. The way he went past Gripel there. Like Griel was a beast himself. Gripel had a leadĀ
out and KD just scooted right past him. I’d love to have seen his uh power file. So, Straa is aĀ
tracking uh guys, you can use Straa for a lot of stuff. Strava, you have it on your phone. Um,Ā
take your phone with you. You hit you can hit record. I think it also has a autorecord feature.Ā
So, let’s say you were going for a bike ride. YouĀ Ā  hit record, auto record, whatever, and it tracksĀ
where you went. It knows the roads you went down. It uploads it. All your cycling friends canĀ
see what you’re doing. 1 minute 41 seconds now, uh, is the gap. You could take it for a walk orĀ
a hike as well. Uh, and they have Straa segments which help boost engagement uh, and a little bitĀ
of competitiveness. Uh, there’s cycling segments, there’s running segments, there’s walkingĀ
segments. So, let’s say you ride your bike down the bike path in whatever town you live in. At theĀ
end of the day, when you get back home at night,Ā Ā  it’ll say, “Hey, you’re number 458th out of 1,200Ā
people that have ever done this.” and you go, “Oh, that’s cool.” Uh, it ranks you and okay, well,Ā
tomorrow I want to be 457, so you’re going to go do it again. And the next day, you’re going to goĀ
do it again. It just builds that consistency. Uh, Pelaton to me is looking quite stretched outĀ
here. Uh, they had Vout Vanart going back to the team car, 72nd overall. Uh, looks like he’sĀ
got about five bottles down the back of his jersey right now. Moving his way right back up throughĀ
the Pelaton here. Here’s one of the world’s bestĀ Ā  cyclists carrying bottles for his teammates.Ā
Love it. True cyclist. Okay, so Cole, I will be following you back. Uh, 30° Celsius for James
and Corsica, 26° C in the water. Man, Corsica just seems so exotic to me. It doesn’t even seem likeĀ
it’s on this planet to me. Uh, front of the Pelon right now, from what I’m seeing, uh, it looksĀ
like about a string 40 riders long single file. The heat is on, folks. The heat is on. Will thisĀ
gap be able to hold the distance here? 97.3 km to the finish. You know, 27° C out there. Not overly
hot, but hot when you’re working this hard. We saw it yesterday on the riders. Their jerseysĀ
were all saturated with salt stains. Uh, really got to watch the electrolytes on these rides,Ā
guys. Something I learned. Uh, Dawn uses Strava. Don saying he uses Dawn. Good one, man. IĀ
almost read it as Strava. Don says I use Stevia to sweeten my coffee. I almost said I use StravaĀ
to sweeten my coffee. Uh, he caught me off guard there. Yeah, it’s a free app. Strava, there’s aĀ
paid version. There’s a free version. free version will give you 95% of what you need. Uh I thinkĀ
I was a paid member for five, six years. Then the price kind of doubled on me and I’m like,Ā
do I really need all of that? Uh and I’m like, you know what? I paid for five, six years. I IĀ
paid I’ve done my part to contribute towards theĀ Ā  development of the platform. Yeah, Stevia Don,Ā
that’s a good one, man. Uh I think you made a joke without me knowing you made a joke there.Ā
Uh, oh, cool point. James Delar KD won the first uh stage of the tour here in Corsica 2013. Yeah,Ā
I think back then I think they had three stages onĀ Ā  the island of Corsica. Uh, Bashock here. MorningĀ
ICW crew watching the tour on Peacock. Commentary from Colin. Hey Bashock, good to see you dude. Uh,Ā
I’ve been off the bike three days straight. Uh, I think I could ride today. Will I? I may take aĀ
fourth day only because I have to go out. I think I have to leave the house today by 4:00 p.m.Ā
So, when this is done, I’ve got like a 5 toĀ Ā  six hour window to get to town, get supplies, getĀ
to Joey’s office, uh mow the grass at the office, get home, probably be a little bit tired from justĀ
getting up so early. Uh then if I do a bike ride, I’m just going to be flagging all night long whenĀ
I’m out with her. Uh, this is a function tonight for the office. So, all the dental assistants, theĀ
dentists, they’re all going to be there tonight. So, I have to be Mr. Happy and Cheery tonight.Ā
You know, razledazzle everyone. So, I don’t want to be the uh the bummer at the party tonight. So,Ā
I might take another one. Uh, just let the legs recover, get my body recovered. So, good to seeĀ
Bashock here. I ride with uh well, I used to rideĀ Ā  with Bashock on Ruby all the time. Not so muchĀ
lately. Uh, especially the last three days here. Corsica here here in France is called theĀ
nearest faraway place. Dude, that makes aĀ Ā  lot of sense. So, James Delara uh resides inĀ
Corsica uh after spending years in Seattle. Uh Fecker Der Der wishing Benny good luck today.Ā
Yeah, guys, if you uh are a cyclist and you ride outside, uh hit me up on Strava. Definitely followĀ
you. I love watching people’s activities. Uh I think it’s a great way to stay involved withĀ
other people. 186 riders in the mix right now,Ā Ā  folks. What time is it in the world? I got toĀ
think a lot of you are trying to get home. It’s uh 12:30 over in Europe. 1:30 to 12, sorry,Ā
1:30 to 2:30 in over in Europe time. It’s only 5:30 in the morning in the Pacific. So, I’mĀ
a lot I’m sure there’s a lot of riders in SoCal, uh, the West Coast. They’re not even out of bedĀ
yet. 6:30 for me. Feel like I’ve been awake for an entire day. Let’s keep it rolling, folks. Let’sĀ
keep it rolling. Uh, we’ll go jump back here. Garren Thomas, the most active in the breakaway,Ā
folks. Uh, just a little bit more than you andĀ Ā  Costu. I think this group, you can see theĀ
numbers there. Is he most active? Yeah, technically, but these guys are all workingĀ
well together. They’re all just over 20%.Ā Ā  There’s five of them. They’re all doingĀ
roughly 1/5if of the work each. Uh not much commentary coming here. Let’s seeĀ
if we have any videos to show you here. Just the uh team radio here.Ā
Let’s have a look here. It’s got the subtitles on for you guys.Ā
Talking about Alex here up front.Ā Ā  They’re basically telling him it’s Alex, just keepĀ
it calm. See what happens with the reaction from behind because I think these guys outcome todayĀ
is based on what the guys behind do. I don’t think these five guys can stay away. Uh it’sĀ
the guys up front who are going to dictate that because that was the breakaway there. Back toĀ
the commentary, guys. Ooh, we’re coming to the coastline now. Here, I want to show you this.Ā
This is where I said, “Oh, this must be such a really cool beach here.” This is where we’re atĀ
now. There’s a huge beach right along here. Uh, they just swung a hard left going through townĀ
here. Uh, sprint points come here. Not too long, guys. We come down this road. We go inland aĀ
little bit. Cross over this river system here. Probably a little bit of a bridge crossing hereĀ
somewhere. Might be a major bridge there. Uh, backĀ Ā  through San B. And then we got our sprint pointĀ
for the day here. 20 points on grab for the first rider through there. Uh Leel Trek will be comingĀ
up to the front soon. They’ll be expected to come to the front. Uh they are showing somethingĀ
online now. Uh looking like some possible crosswind action. Yeah, there are some winds.Ā
They’re saying the winds here along the coast. 19 km an hour coming from the right hand side of theĀ
riders. Okay, I’ll have to get that figured out. Yeah, it depends where they are and depends howĀ
they turn, how these crosswinds hit them. I thinkĀ Ā  the wind might be coming over their shouldersĀ
right now from the rear. Uh let’s have a look here. It is showing it as a rear tailwind rightĀ
now over the right side coming off the seas I believe. Uh but not showing the same speedsĀ
as I just saw. They were showing 20k an hour.Ā Ā  This is showing five. So depends where they’reĀ
taking that wind reading from. Chat’s great, guys. Really helps me out. Ah, okay. Perfect.Ā
Bashock, I know you were talking about that in the Discord a couple days ago. Uh, Ruby justĀ
announced two new challenges from Corsica.Ā Ā  All new videos. Awesome. Awesome stuff.Ā
I’ll check them out later today. Uh, oh, check this guy out here. Jim De Wong 16, uh,Ā
9:30 p.m. in South Korea. I keep forgetting. You’re almost on tomorrow. Almost on. So, you’veĀ
had a full day already. Good to see you here. Uh Fecker here saying, “Thanks for receivingĀ
me. Accepted like a new customer.” Dude,Ā Ā  I’m glad you’re here. Glad you’re here. AlexanderĀ
Tesla, got a Tesla in the mix. Keep going. Benny, may God be with you. Yeah, guys, it all justĀ
depends. Benny could do well at this one today. There is a bit of a ramp at the end. I mean, aĀ
bit of a ramp. It’s called the Murder Bratana.Ā Ā  Uh it all depends how he feels. And again,Ā
yeah. Wow. The images right now on camera, this beach is just massive. It looks likeĀ
the beach here, the sand deposit here, it looks like it’s 200 m wide. Fantastic. There’sĀ
no one actually on the beach. They’re probably too busy watching the tour of France. Looks likeĀ
it’s it’s probably low tide here, I believe, too. Uh they’re on a raised walkway hereĀ
going through here with the barriers up.Ā Ā  Uh Grant Thomas leading the way through rightĀ
now. Actually, this is probably delayed. Yeah, that was a flashback video. Uh, they’reĀ
through town already. Let’s take aĀ Ā  look where they’re at. They’re probablyĀ
going back out into the countryside now. I’m thinking here that little gap to me isĀ
closed. And we got someone off the back. It’s saying there’s someone off the back, butĀ
remember there is someone off the back. Luca Messk is still off the back. It’s like thisĀ
guy’s been trying to go all day trying to getĀ Ā  back on. I think it’s so fast up frontĀ
right now. He had a mechanical earlier, guys, along the beach here. Flat outĀ
watts are being dropped here. Uh, one solid long line of about 160 riders. Tailwind here. They’re rolling along theĀ
flat. It’s dead flat here along the beach. Uh, 61 km an hour with the tailwind. AbsolutelyĀ
stretch out. Neil’s pallets on the front. Uh, they’re not having any chance to look at thisĀ
beach. Uh, they are just flying through there. And that’s why uh it was showing Luca having a hardĀ
time getting on. Looks like that gap is gone now. I think he might be back now. Front group. We’veĀ
uh they’ve already lost 20 seconds. 25 seconds. So the gap is coming down. They take a hard leftĀ
off the beach. They turn directly in land here. So, it’s it’s less of a tailwind now. Samrio, that’s the town we’re heading to next. AndĀ
we will be at the Strimp Point behind after that. 1 minute 9 1 minute 7 seconds now. TheĀ
teams are going to be working hard now. There’s no way the sprint teams areĀ
letting this uh gap these five guysĀ Ā  steal these sprint points. UAE onĀ
the front with team Alpasin Dynic. Okay, so yeah, late at night in South Korea. Yeah, Jim, thank you for being here. Thanks forĀ
taking your time to watch the channel. ReallyĀ Ā  appreciate it, dude. Really appreciate it. Um, gotĀ
about 165 people watching now. Yeah, South Korea is watching us from the future. They already knowĀ
who the winner is. The stages are end at 12:30 to 12:45 at night for him. O, I hope you got you’reĀ
on vacation right now so you can stay up for them. G. Thomas here. Yeah, the commentators here were talking uh to meĀ
it kind of almost seemed like a stage question. And they were like, “What happens when you build aĀ
bike up, like say a new bike, if it’s too light?”Ā Ā  Yeah, low tide here for sure. All the boats areĀ
sitting on the sand. Uh, what happens if the bike is too light? You can only have there’s a weightĀ
restriction. I think it’s 6.7 kg. Your entire bikeĀ Ā  set up. That’s the entire weight of the bike. Uh,Ā
I knew this. Basically, if the bike is too light, they add lead weights to the bike’s frame. theyĀ
have to add weight to meet the minimum uh weight requirements. Otherwise, teams would be showingĀ
with bikes that weighed 4 and a half kilos. Uh probably like on the verge of snapping duringĀ
the uh the lightest of sprints. Uh but yeah, they they add weight to the bikes if they’reĀ
so light. They could they can definitely beĀ Ā  underweight. When they weigh them, they’reĀ
generally right on weight. 6.7 6.8 kilos. Yeah. So, those are late night finishes for JimĀ
here. Uh, I’m assuming he probably catches someĀ Ā  of the finishes the next day, which is stillĀ
our day. Wow. Mind-b blown. I’m like in a time warp right now. Uh, yeah. Really nice sceneryĀ
here on the side of the tour. Looks like they got they’ve got some uh ah, check this out here.Ā
It looks like they got some marine farming goingĀ Ā  on. That’s what that looks like to me. I can seeĀ
some patterns in the water. It’s probably like areas they’ve got netted off uh for whatever itĀ
is that they’re trying to uh farm here. Could be some kind of mollisk or I don’t know if it’s fish.Ā
We have that off the west coast of Canada. They do a lot of salmon farming. Gap’s coming downĀ
still, folks. Let’s have a look at that again. The gap now 109 still kind of holding as is. UhĀ
and we do have someone off the back. We’ve got two riders off the back right now. Uh probablyĀ
happened during that long beach run where they were traveling dead flat along the ocean. 61 kmĀ
an hour all the way. We’ve got Johansson and uh Edward Twins off the back. They are 32 secondsĀ
back. That could also just be a mechanical. Maybe there’s a little touch of wheels or something. UhĀ
I’m going to keep watching here to see. Actually, I can see Edward Twins is on radio. He’sĀ
radioing the team car right now. Maybe heĀ Ā  needs some assistance. Maybe him and the otherĀ
rider both experienced a mechanical at the same time. Just going to keep an eye on this here.Ā
Uh this is a key uh rider for today uh to lead out Jonathan Milan. He kind of needs to getĀ
back into that group right away. Whatever is uh causing him a delay there. Says they’re 28Ā
seconds back now. Still 109 to the front group. Okay, nothing new to show youĀ
there into the commentary. Yeah, Grant Thomas enjoying hisĀ
last tour with the Breakaway,Ā Ā  39 years old. Uh he’s the oldestĀ
participant this year and the most experienced. Uh when did Grant win?Ā
2018. Welshman. He’s got a podcast. already got 13 participations done. This willĀ
be his 14th participation at the Tour of France. Yeah. Okay. It is saying here. Yeah. So,Ā
he did win in 2018, stepped on the podiumĀ Ā  for second in 2019 and third in 2022. So,Ā
I think uh yeah, Gurant kind of came to the front after Wig uh Wiggo Bradley Wiggins,Ā
Sir Bradley Wiggins, Wiggo as he’s called. uh kind of retired, left the sport kind ofĀ
there was an error at Sky where you know WGO was on the up Gurant was in the background thenĀ
they had Gurant step in right now they’re kind ofĀ Ā  missing that Bernal was Bernal was there EgonĀ
Bernal from Colombia was there uh he suffered that horrible crash still recovering from itĀ
and he has said this will be his last year in the Pelaton it’s not been a bad run eh dude heĀ
said a is he part Canadian And here’s Garant now. Uh just watching the stream here. Here we are on the map. They’re all This road isĀ
very very straight here. I think here they are going to be getting a 3/4 tailwind coming at themĀ
from the right hand side off the ocean. Uh yeah, I can see the UNOX mobility rider. Now at theĀ
back it is Anders Johansson. That rider is with uh one of the Liddell TrekĀ
riders. Who was that again? Ever Twins. And Twins is a good guy. Uh leadingĀ
out Jonathan Milan. He should be back to the front, I hope, real quick. Let’s let thingsĀ
settle down here. 104 in the break now, guys. Uh, Julius Caesar jumped in now,Ā Ā  guys. 213 Rider people watchingĀ
the stream now. Love it. Thank you. Julius Caesar was here with us yesterday out through the French countryside here. This isĀ
definitely a part of the world you got to see. Yeah, it’s sprint time, folks. Race is goingĀ Ā  to start really heating up hereĀ
in the next 10, 15 kilometers. If I take a look, uh what we’ll do, we’llĀ
pull the route up for a second here. Uh the sprint point is at 139 kilometers andĀ
oh I was looking for the town of San Briuk here which I don’t see. I don’t think we’reĀ
more than 20 minutes away from that sprintĀ Ā  point right now. Uh pretty sure about that.Ā
Let’s show the team of Leel Trek here again today just so you can see who they are. This isĀ
Lead Trek. Jonathan Milan, big boy at the tour. Uh Quinn Simmons probably has spent more timeĀ
on the front than any rider this tour so far. Edward Twins here. He’s the rider that’s currentlyĀ
chasing uh trying to get back on to help the team out. Lot of great riders here. A lot of greatĀ
riders. Back to the route here. Uh great days coming up ahead, guys. So, check here’s tomorrow’sĀ
route. This is going to be stage eight tomorrow.Ā Ā  Uh now all out sprint day. We got a sprintĀ
intermediate sprint point coming. Uh that will be hotly contested. Looks like it might be on a tinyĀ
uphill and then the finish of the stage. Uh small category 4 climb over the top. It’s far enough outĀ
though that it’s not going to really impact the sprint. They’ll have 15 km to recover uh to lightĀ
the uh jet engines up. Slight uphill drag there. uh could be looking for Binium to shineĀ
there. Stage nine, Shino to Chatau, another sprint stage. Uh it’s technically called aĀ
flat stage. 174 km. Uh intermediate sprint coming right at the beginning of the stage in that one.Ā
So first hour of the tour is going to be insane. First half hour is going to be warp speed.Ā
Uh just like this race is looking right now.Ā Ā  You can see the pelaton is completely strungĀ
out. There’s no one riding side by side here right now. Uh all strung out single fileĀ
chasing down this break. UAE and Alpison at the front. Yellow jersey and MatthewĀ
Vanderpole sitting seventh right now. Uh John Chaiti SR71 from the Ruby World. Uh QuinnĀ
is extremely noticeable. Hair flying in the wind. Yeah. And the the mutton chops on the side. UhĀ
he probably rides a Harley back home. Evan Baron, Leadell fan here. Good to see you again, Evan.Ā
Let’s go Milan. Uh yeah, I definitely think thisĀ Ā  is a Jonathan Milan sprint here coming up.Ā
Uh the end. I don’t think we’re going to see Jonathan Milan. Uh who are we seeing here? Oh,Ā
Tatty Pogachar. Uh fans on the side of the road. They got Tatty in this kind of this strangeĀ
looking little hat. UAE driving the front with Alpison. Uh I’m surprised we haven’tĀ
seen the track team come up here already having a look back. I can see Vizma there.Ā
I can actually see Yonas uh just sittingĀ Ā  comfortably back there as well. So right nowĀ
it’s Alpas doing all the work. UAE smattering uh the main team behind him. And it looks likeĀ
Sudal Tim thinking he’s going to get some pointsĀ Ā  here. I think Tim is fifth in the green jerseyĀ
right now. Uh here’s a field. Uh I’m seeing at least four or five helicopters just parkedĀ
there. Uh the tour is quite the operation.Ā Ā  I’d love to see even just the caravanĀ
go by. Uh that looks like a lot of fun. Okay. Uh James Delar saying he wasĀ
there in the start of the tour in 1988. So 1988 big guns. Okay. Well, Greg was out at thatĀ
point, right? Uh Steven Ro was still around. Uh Pedro Delgato. Pad Pedro Delgato. I think he racedĀ
for was it Benesto? No, it was Reynolds. Pedro Delgato raced for Reynolds. That was the teamĀ
name. Blue and white jerseys. Uh 1988 and had I think he went to war with uh Steve Ro in that one.Ā
And I think he had to withdraw due to the death of his mother. Is that right? Did I call it, guys? IĀ
think it was 88 that Pedro Delgato left the tour to France. And he used to rock the headband, too.Ā
You know, the headband, uh, the white headband. I think it even said Reynolds on it. Uh, reallyĀ
cool Spanish dude. One of my favorite cyclists back then. I might be overlapping 87 and 80, butĀ
it was all that time frame then. Uh the big riders were Steven Ro who won the tour to France, theĀ
Jirro and the world championships in one year. They call that the Triple Crown. Uh Pedro LaggadoĀ
was right there. Uh Greg Lamont who won in 86 got shot in a uh accidentally shot in a hunt a turkeyĀ
hunting in incident. He still has some of those uh pellet shots in his body right now. The factĀ
that he was able to come back and win another tour of to France is kind of mind-blowing. Uh,Ā
okay. So, James here, I’m going to continue withĀ Ā  that. James was there at the start of the 88Ā
tour of France. So, James was a longtime fan. The weather was rain and side wind of about 50Ā
km an hour for a team time trial. Not fun. Ooh. And I bet you they still made the guys go out onĀ
full disc wheels. At least a rear disc wheel. Uh, so it was in Britany where this happened. Uh JimĀ
DeWong saying Bernardino was my favorite. Yeah, that’s kind of who when I started watching theĀ
tour in ’86. Uh Bernardino was still the Badger. Uh was still the king of the Pelaton. Uh still gotĀ
to kind of like dictate the rules at the time. I had a lot of favorites back then. I love CharlieĀ
Mate. Uh Lon Fon Jean Jean Francois Bernard. That guy, I loved him too. He wrote for Lavi Clair. AllĀ
the 7-Eleven guys. Steve Bower, of course. Alexa, the first Actually, I just saw something a fewĀ
days ago. It says Alexa, the first American. He’s Canadian. He’s Canadian. Uh to wear the yellowĀ
jersey at the Church of France. Uh it was on a a crazy stage where they did two stages in oneĀ
day. Uh and I think he won it on the first stage. I believe he lost it in the afternoon, but heĀ
was the first the first North American who was Canadian uh to win. Got to wear it for half aĀ
day. Jim here saying Laurent was good. Yeah, he was awesome. Really cool. Ooh, that roundaboutĀ
wasn’t good for those guys. They went on the leftĀ Ā  side. The wrong way to go, boys. The wrong way toĀ
go. Team cars need to uh they have a route book. They should be telling the guys, get on the rightĀ
hand side. Why lose 30 40 spots? Okay, guys. Yeah, just realized I’ve got you staring at this theĀ
whole time. Let’s have a look here. Leading group right now. Still our five riders out front. GapĀ
is coming down. Sorry. Gap is going up. They’re letting them get away. 1 minute 34 seconds. So,Ā
here’s my guess for this point here. Alpas and Dcoin not really going for the green jerseyĀ
overall. They could with Matchu though. Uh but I think Matthew’s thinking more it’s 20 pointsĀ
for this sprint. Can I win this against Jonathan Milan? No, I can’t. Uh there’s 50 points for theĀ
green jersey and a time bonus at the end. Can I beat Jonathan Milan at that? Heck yeah, I can.Ā
Uh he’ll be going for the 50 green jersey points at the end, not this one. I think UAE and AlisonĀ
Deoic are at the front right now saying, “Okay, sprint teams, get up here. Start doing your job.Ā
We’re not doing all of it. So, we’re going to let the pellet we’re going to let this five riderĀ
break if you’re not going to get up here. So,Ā Ā  this could cause some reaction here out of leadĀ
trek right away. Intermar is going to have to do their part two. They can’t expect uh the yellowĀ
jersey team to do all the work at the front. The yellow jersey is not here to hunt down uh theĀ
breakaways that don’t bother them all. And as I’m looking at the front, I’m still seeingĀ
Alphasin at the front. So, this is a littleĀ Ā  delayed and I I can actually see some more colorsĀ
coming up left side. It’s really zoomed out right now. Helicopter shots here, folks. Uh, as soonĀ
as I know who’s near the front there. Yeah, it’s going to have to happen real quick. This isĀ
kind of a lumpy uphill push to the sprint point. Just uh, you know, dragging uphill all the way.Ā
Enrich Moss here having his mid-stage Coca-Cola. Rider 141. Enrich Mass. Jump into the chat again. Oh, dude. Love it. Uh, so Jim isĀ
Canadian. Great to know, Jim. Uh, James Arara, that was 86. Delgato won 88.Ā
Ro was 87. Okay. Yeah, I knew Delgato won, but there was a year where uh Yeah. So, I thinkĀ
it was the year that Ro won 87. I think Delgado dropped out when he was in the lead. Uh, I’mĀ
pretty sure or he was right at the top. Uh, I think it was his mom who died mid-stage and heĀ
found out during the stage. Uh, pretty good. Uh, I don’t want to say cool story, but interestingĀ
history. I guess I remember very well. Uh,Ā Ā  so Jim is Canadian living in South Korea. Uh,Ā
supporting Steve Bower from the good old days. Steve Bower did wear the yellow jerseyĀ
as well. Uh, Dessa David Valkyrie G, what time does stage Dude, stage seven is on rightĀ
now. You’re just joining at the right time. Uh, we’re doing an audio commentary. Follow along.Ā
Jump into the chat. Give us your predictions. TellĀ Ā  us where you’re from, man. Uh, 1 minute 42 secondĀ
gap. I’m surprised the sprint teams are letting this grow right now. Really shocked by this. I’dĀ
love to hear what the commentators are saying. Nothing else. Let’s see what Total EnergyĀ
has to say. Let’s continue like that attack, guys. Everyone is blocked. It doesn’tĀ
matter. Let’s go. Let’s go. Uh notĀ Ā  sure exactly which one. Let me figureĀ
this out when it’s from. Keep it up, guys. Everyone’s going to blow soon. So,Ā
they’re expecting uh this to all blow apart. Stage seven. give you a little bit of live tracking here. ShowĀ
you where we’re at. Here we are. We’re coming to the the city of St. Baroo here. Interesting. Here.Ā
Here’s our front group of five heading northwest now. These guys have been alone for quite a whileĀ
now. Uh the Pelaton is chasing 1 minute 42 behind. A group of 172 riders. And I think we got two orĀ
three riders out the back. Adam Yates out the back for UAE, guys. Adam Yates 76 overall right now. UhĀ
just struggling off the back a little bit. Let’s see the time gap. 31 seconds. It’s going to be aĀ
mechan mechanical. Probably just went back. Maybe went to get bottles. I’m watching uh the coverageĀ
here right now. Local celebrities of the area. Oh, it’s actually Bernardino. No stepping into uh theĀ
uh race director car. And Bernardino know this is his homeland. Britney the Badger. Uh yes, that isĀ
a picture of him. Champion of Breton, a picture when he’s probably 35 years old, I think. Uh intoĀ
the uh a big soccer field here showing the Bre, the Bratton flag, which looks like it’s stripesĀ
and in the corner kind of like a US flag, it’s got some other symbol up there. I’ll have to lookĀ
that up. Lots of cool artwork of uh Bernardino on the side of buildings. Think when he wrote forĀ
Elf Katon way back when. Maybe it was Renault. Uh yeah, Jim here saying stage 7 is half over. TheĀ
map he’s showing is the progress. Yeah. So we are we’ve only got 73.6 km left in this stage.Ā
We’ve got a five rider breakaway up front that seem to be allowed to be getting moving away,Ā
guys. Right now, they’re just showing a lot of uh the cultural stuff, the artwork, the citiesĀ
in the area. Uh they’re not really showing me the front of the Pelaton. Uh soon as we get back,Ā
I’ll be able to tell you which teams are upĀ Ā  there. Gives me time to catch up here. Yeah,Ā
James, you’re right. Vanderpool won on this stage in 2021. See Adam Yates. Here’s a replayĀ
coming up for UAE XRG uh team Emirates pulling over. Looks like a purely mechanical here. FullĀ
bike change. Jumping off. Love his wheel set. I think they rock envys, don’t they? Think so. TheĀ
black carbon wheels uh with the white lettering. Love that look. I better switch mine to white.Ā
So, Adam Yates is in Let’s take a look at Adam here. Adam Yates right here. Oh, that’s AlexisĀ
Renard. Oh, now we got Renardo out the back. Okay, so it looks like Adam might be in. And theyĀ
are showing Alexis Runard here at the rear of the Pelaton. Maybe he’s had to go back for someĀ
reason. He’s only 20 seconds back here. It’s not showing Adam Yates back here anymore.Ā
Again, I think once you get close enough,Ā Ā  they kind of throw you into the Pelaton whetherĀ
you’re really there or not. Again, we’re at the back here. Oh, yeah. So, all the flags here,Ā
I’ve seen this flag before, the flag of Breton,Ā Ā  uh, Britany. It’s a black and white flag. It kindĀ
of looks like the USA flag. It’s got the stripes, uh, black and white. And in the top leftandĀ
corner, uh, it’s got some symbols up there, kind of like where the stars would be on the stars andĀ
stripes. Really loving the pictures here. Uh, very much what I would call like an estrine setting. UhĀ
Alexa doing a bike change. He’s got his bark He’s got his bike laid up against a pole where anotherĀ
guy’s got his random uh hybrid mountain bike here. I’ll just park my $20,000 bike beside yours. Wow,Ā
what a cool little town. Yeah, very marshy, very estruaring like uh mixing of salt and fresh watersĀ
here. Uh very biodiverse here, folks. Sorry folks, my ears are popping right now. Uh, okay. James hasĀ
got some great history here for me. Really tweaks my memory a lot. Delgato pulled out an 86 afterĀ
winning the stage against Eno on the stage where Eno attacked Lamond. Okay, that was 86. Okay,Ā
that’s I understand what you’re saying now. Uh, and James is saying pine trees. Pine trees.Ā
What do you mean that James? I don’t understand. Yeah, good point there, John. Uh, speakingĀ
of deep carbon wheels, the Pelaton has toĀ Ā  be incredibly loud rolling on the cobblestones.Ā
Oh, yeah. There’s some videos where they’ll show you inside the tour and, uh, you can hear theĀ
wheels just Yeah, it’s loud. Ollie Gdard here, uh, from team TMP over on Zift. Is it a sprintĀ
stage? Uh, hard man sprint stage. Matu Vanderpole sprint stage. He won this exact same finish. inĀ
it, guys. It’s the exact same finish as 2021. Uh they do two laps up the Mir De Bratana. Uh we’reĀ
currently chasing a fiveman breakaway right now, including Garon Thomas. What I’ll do hereĀ
is I’m going to try to find you. Uh got the breakaway. Was full gas at the start. We wentĀ
along the beach there. Prepare for the stage. There’s one there’s a section called inside theĀ
stage. Uh inside the tour and it’s it’s camera views from inside the tour. Okay, that’sĀ
inside the tour. It may not be inside what I’m looking for. I’ll have to dig that outĀ
later. I’ll do more research today. Um yeah, the sound from inside the Pelaton, it’s absolutelyĀ
insane. Uh all you can hear is wheels. Sorry. You hear, it’s generally quiet, but you hearĀ
the the whooshing. The carbon wheels kind of makes that sound. Gets very loud in the cobblesĀ
and you hear a lot of yelling. A lot of riders yelling at each other. Um, you could see duringĀ
the sprint trains, the teammates have to yell at each other over the noise to kind of communicateĀ
as to what they’re doing. They don’t have a chanceĀ Ā  to pull reach up here to grab that mic uh toĀ
communicate with each other or their team car. Still 1 minute 27. It’s come down down a tiny bit.Ā
Uh we do have a couple little climbs coming up here. I’m going to go back here again, guys, justĀ
because I want to show you this. It’s not flat. This is definitely not a flat stage. So before theĀ
sprint point here at Pledran, it’s called 139.2 km into the race. Uh you can see St. Bri rightĀ
here at 127. So when we pass through St. Boo, we have 12 km to go. Let’s just jump back to thisĀ
guy for a second. Look at the live tracking. Where are we? We are in San Bri right now. We’re 12Ā
We’re probably 13 14 km from the sprint point. It’s going to explode very quick here. The problemĀ
is when we leave St. Bri, it’s not flat. It’s climbing all the way up and down, up and down.Ā
And actually, the sprint is an uphill sprint. I’m thinking anything can happen here. Images fromĀ
uh the tour itself. They’re climbing all the wayĀ Ā  here. 25 km an hour. Wonder if this is why thisĀ
is making the catch hard. I don’t see any of the sprint teams on the front right now. Uh I canĀ
see the other teams being like, “If you don’t want to help us, then you’re not getting yourĀ
sprint points.” I can see that happening everyĀ Ā  day. Like start doing your jobs. Uh oh, thankĀ
you, James. So that flag, the flag of Britney, uh, is pine trees. Instead of the stars andĀ
stripes, it’s stars and pine trees in the top corner. I’m sure that flag is a lot older thanĀ
the stars and stripes, too. So, yeah, flag pine trees on the baton flag. Thanks again, James. Uh,Ā
Abel Kurfle here is asking, “Where’s Benny?” Benny is sitting in the Pelaton safely sitting aboutĀ
1 minute and I think 30 seconds back from the fiveman breakaway right now. Uh it’s right spot onĀ
1 minute and 30 seconds back right now. If I come to this one here, maybe we can see where BinghamĀ
is. He’s safely in here. But you know what guys, I haven’t seen Interar at all in the last littleĀ
while. They have not been anywhere near the front.Ā Ā  They’re not providing any assistance at the frontĀ
here. I I’m sure the sprint teams are all looking at each other. Okay, who’s going first? Who’sĀ
going to do it? They’ve got uh right now tech uh I’m going to just give you a quick ballpark. Yeah,Ā
it says after Srioke and I’m getting this from here. St. Bri here or Srioke is at 127.7 km. It’sĀ
just over 12 km to get to the sprint point. Um, so where is that actual marker? 127. We’re roughlyĀ
12 to 13 kmters from the sprint point right now. No sprint teams on the front working hard toĀ
bring this back with a 1 minute 30 second gap. I can see a lot of team directors gettingĀ
a little ticked off right now. Uh,Ā Ā  they’re probably all eyeballing each other.Ā
Okay, you do it. We’re not doing it. If you want to win the sprint, you got to go up there.Ā
There’s going to be a lot of that going on. Uh,Ā Ā  they’re showing some really cool vioaducts here.Ā
Uh they’re very dominant all over this part of the world. The waterway systems. Actually,Ā
this is probably an old aqueduct that’s been converted into Yeah, I can see a railing upĀ
top. Uh probably converted to a path now. Yeah, looks like a bike path. Actually,Ā Ā  it’s been converted. Really goodĀ
drone footage of that. Um okay. Okay. Thank you, Reuben. Thank you so much.Ā
I’m going to do something here quick forĀ Ā  you guys. Uh Reuben sent me something here.Ā
I’m going to jump to Reuben himself. Guys, this is going to be awesome. What I need to doĀ
now is I need to turn my Discord on here. Oh, please say I didn’t get rid of it.Ā
Uh I might have gotten rid of it,Ā Ā  Reuben. I’m not sure how I caught it last time.Ā
Maybe I can do this window capture here. [Music] Ruben, I just got to figureĀ
out how to capture this again.
