Speed Crash takes out some important GC candidates. Could Terry Pagatcha take his second win in this first week of the Twitter France 2025 from S Malu to Murder Bratana? This is where Machu Vanipul won in 2021 or it was stage two. There was also crashes in those sort of stages. I think stage three there was a big crash. Rogich crashed also in the club relly incident. It’s 2 km at about 7% but it levels off near the top. There’s a bit of a headwind breakaway though. Vizma Lisa bike were trying to get in the break once again splits do open up uh straight out of neutral with camparts and vanard but Alison Dernik or when you’re watching break formation yourself what are riders doing in the line watch Jonas Rickard here he’s trying to stop this move going so he moves off Vanard’s wheel left and his teammate behind him also does the same and they don’t follow through that leaves a gap it stops the momentum and it stops Vizma getting in the breakway so Albison and UA were both controlling break formation. and they wanted to control for the stage win from the pelon EF of course wanted you know like every other team basically these teams here are logical they are rational they know that if you go to the finish with Ty Pagatcha they’re 99% chance on this sort of finish you are not going to win the stage and Tim Wellins is doing a fantastic job in the polka dots jersey controlling x want to be in Vanderpool himself the break formation took so long it almost looked like he was changing tact and he was going to jump in the break formation that van and art has start to jump in. Valance follows him. But eventually, just when maybe you think a big group is going to go, a easily controllable one does go with Alex Bodda, Ivan Gothia, Cortina, Hala, Grant Thomas, and Costu, uh EF get to the front with three, they block. They’re represented in front. Chew go to the front with two, they block. I’d argue this is actually not helping their cause because it’s such a small group that then when uh the expected riders get on the front to start controlling the break has no chance of success which is Silylvanier for Albon and Neils Polllet for UAE team Emirates probably it needed to be a group of 15 20 to win today maybe with the right composition 10 or 12 could have made it but anyway intermediate sprint was deeper into the stage today in Mare Wanty trying to make it hard on the uphill kicker before that sprint but it wasn’t hard enough And again, Johnny Milan takes the maximum points remaining in the pelaton. And then 113 was the gap. 50ks to go. The breakaway we all knew had no chance to make it despite riding pretty well. Last chance to go back to the cars, get an ice sock, get some refreshments to cool down and the shape of the pelon had changed completely with the leadouts beginning for the various GC teams. Cost you go solo at the top of the uh code deur bratanna in the village and then the climb itself starts after that. He was very very strong. He started with 43 45 seconds and he only loses 10 15 seconds to the pelaton which by the way is being lit up by Simon Philip Yates. Splits happening Carlos Rodriguez having to close it and on the first M we are seeing Machu Vanpool already on a gap. So by the first move with 16ks to go, we’re seeing it, but also the UAE team Emirates car is seeing this that Vanderpool basically has no chance to win this stage. And so Pagatcha can probably be a little bit more conservative on the final climb. Van looks over his shoulder. He tried to anticipate on the fast downhill. Wells is closing and he loses his sunglasses bouncing into the road never to be seen again. Well says, “Stop this nonsense.” Vocar was with him as well actually. So AA, they were really well represented. It was still a pretty big group. All the main GC contenders here, Ragglitch, Libovitz, Dumbar, uh Almeida for UAE, of course, although he looked a little bit suspect yesterday at the finish. And here he is moving up on the right hand side. Arda’s positioning and general descending has been excellent this year. He won a Bass Country stage this year with a fantastic solo descent after going clear on the climb. He moves into position. The problem is he doesn’t hold this position in front. And very shortly afterwards, about 2 minutes later, he’s midway this group on the back left. And watch here. I we don’t know what happened exactly. Obviously, someone had to break or stop. Shelmo stops, breaks a bit, and Almeida was behind him and then everyone goes down at 65ks an hour. Healy’s caught up. Enrich Mass is caught up. He lose 51 seconds. I have no idea how he only lost 51 seconds. He must have had a very stressful final 10 minutes of this stage. But now, Ma, when a rider is sitting in the ditch holding their wrist, it normally means they’ve broken something. But he’s able to get back on the bike. He finishes 10 minutes down. It means his GC bids over. Jack Hagen, Santiago, Bitrago also very very banged up after that crash. But the race goes on. So pacing Pasher in front of Vanard and Wellins does a fantastic lead out into the bottom of this climb. He jumps Vanard and then Vingard’s a little bit boxed in by the arc lead out and Tish Manote. And so Pagatch is able to start this climb in front of Vingar with Renco even in his wheel through this right hand corner and there was even they were split straight away because riders were put on a little bit of a gap. Wellins started launching it immediately at the bottom of the climb. Now Vias was deeper in the group and Pagato we don’t see the moment that Wellins pulls off but there’s already a split during his lead out but not has to pull out of the line. He puts finger guard back onto a ball’s wheel. Vanderpool is gone and then Pagatcha goes when it’s a little bit steeper over 10% on the MU 11 12 13% gradients for a short time. Not as hard as a Sant air climb I don’t think but Remco maybe seeing the gap he goes to the front and says I can do the lead out for Tad Pagache. He’s fiddling with his bike computer. He’s obviously feeling really good. Robertin Lipovitz was on a were on a gap and it was somewhat strange from Remco cuz he didn’t pace all out to the point where he stopped the guys behind coming back. You see Nava’s vocal coming back, but he also spent a little bit of energy as well for the benefit of Tane Pagacha in the headwind. And Pagacha knows Navis is there. He’s just waiting for him to come to the front. And here he comes. The race is pretty much over at this point because last minute it’s like the last 400 meters of this are only like 1 and a half% with a headwind. It’s too hard to attack. Too much benefit on the wheel. And now Vias comes to the front and even then Ramco Pagachi was going to his teammate’s will. Remco puts himself into P2 in front of Pagatcha for the headwind sprint. So he needed to go a little bit further back in the line. And uh yeah, Navi does a fantastic job. Navas, Almeida, they’ve been huge for Pagatcha in stages two, four, uh, and this stage today. When when Pagatcha opened his sprint with a lead out like that, we knew there was no one else that was going to be able to beat him. him and Vingard actually taking a gap of two seconds on the others. Oscar only just holding on for third uh in the sprint behind. But UA did exactly what they needed to do. The only I think blemish on the stage is Ala, but apparently he only has a or only has a rib fracture but his hand no fractures and he’s going to try to start the stage tomorrow. He’s going to be a key uh player or figure for Paga in the mountains coming up. Who wins ahead of Ingal? and only Felix Gal Jorgensson apocali. Here’s what Pacha had to say after the race today. Whether you wear the jersey, whether you don’t wear the jersey, you don’t care. You just want to win. Today was the perfect example of that. Oh yeah. I’m I mean I’m super happy with the win today. We did uh almost perfect and unfortunate crashed and uh I hope he’s okay. Uh if he’s okay, then it’s perfect day. If he’s not okay, then uh yeah, this this victory is for him and uh yeah, I really right now I just wish he’s okay. In terms of GC, Almeida loses 10 minutes. He’s out of the GC picture and so he drops out of the top 10. Obviously, Vanderpool loses some spots. So, uh Aanipul for the podium at least is looking like the heavy heavy favorite for third and Vingard is still more than a minute a drift of Tad Pagata who extends his lead by another 4 seconds today. Hope you enjoyed the recap. See you tomorrow.

  1. Nice to see Remco doing domestique duties for Pogi there at the end! 😂
Remco's strategy was bizarre and ineffective…I have no idea what he's doing.
I wanted to see Jorgensen try to open up and go for the line…but maybe his legs were too shredded by that point.

    Pogi wins again 🙄

  2. Crying Vini could have won if he started his sprint first. But, he is no champion, no real racer, doesn’t practice racing, and looks at Pogi as an older stronger big brother. So, Vini waited for Pogi to start.

  3. Is it just me who thinks Jonas needs to be more aggressive? It was all leading to an attack and he waited until 400 meters to the finish. He has been battling pogi for years now. And he always waits too long to make the move. Also why on earth is Remco helping pogi? Is he planning a move to UAE next year? Tbh if he was a real GC contender he should play that way smarter! And by now he is way to experienced to use the excuse that he is young.

  4. It’s incredible how much stronger in a sprint tadej is than Jonas, yet he is also somehow a better climber despite having more weight, how is that possible?

  5. Priabably only way to beat Pog is to hang with him within reasonable distance/time, until the end or near the end of the tour, get a good masking agent and pull a Landis and just take off in the beginning of a stage and never come back or get caught and surprise everyone with one incredible stage.

  6. This stage was so boring compared to the one in 2022 when MVDP won. Pog’s wins leave me feeling cold and emotionless. When MVDP won I was on my feet, cheering.

  7. Great analysis on this channel, but why all the mad tabloid hyperbole in the titles? Seems so out of character to the balanced pieces that follow.

  8. I gotta say, without your commentary there is no way I would ever watch pro cycling. And I love riding road bikes. The way you communicate the tactics and outcomes is incredible.

  9. Pog getting lead outs from other teams is so annoying! Put him on the front and don’t take a turn, ever!!! What are they doing?

  10. Crash such like this is too bad and painful…they just cant focus only on racing, what all the racers have to keep in mind to be safe and they still get trapped in such out of nowhere accidents…its so challenging…props to the fighters! 😢

  11. Pog puslhing to Jorgensen, when Jorgenson reach for a biden so he missed it.
Stupid and dangerous from Pog! Maybe Pog should get more juice from Gianetti, so he doesnt feel so thretened from Visma 🥳
