So, me first time out on a bike in about 2 years. We’ll see how we get on. I’m only going to do about four miles to the end of the prom and then back again. Very gently though. Going to stay in the middle cog. probably just stick down to two and three gears. See what happens. There’s not much wind blowing. Let me see the wind turbines over there. I don’t know whether you will see them and they’re not moving much, so it should be easy. The tide’s up. You definitely can’t see that. There’s a bit of a chill coming from the sea, the North Sea. All right, we’ll go and have a quick look at the sea. We’ve got a bank going down here. Brick still there. That’s a bonus. Oh, come on. It’s locked off. Go back and get through there. You can see it’s uh it’s quite rough today. We’ve got some nice webs coming in. It’s absolutely beautiful, isn’t it? We are so lucky to live here. I’m not sure if I can bike back up this bank. I’m going to give it a go, though. Like I said, it’s that long since I’ve been on a bike. I might find it a struggle going up the bank. All right, I’ve dropped into a very low gear. Even lower now. Oh, there you go. Nice and gentle. Easy peasy. Right. How do we get past this? [Music] We got a couple of mile. along this fairly flat surface to the end of the prominard at seen ku. I’m not rushing it. So, coming up here, we’ve got the Surf Side Restaurant, which is some lovely fish and chips, but we only allowed them when we actually walk along to eat them. Let’s go and have a look at this piece of artwork. It’s called Waves by Stuart Langley. Sea glass and steel rest something or other within a clear circular form. I mean, we can see that, can’t we? Take her up closer. It does look nice in the morning when the sun’s shining through it. But I don’t know if you think the same as me. I’ve said it before. Just look like a big glared air freshener. But who am I to say? Anyway, let’s get on with it. Oh, we’ve got people fishing on the beach. Pity I didn’t have you higher up. You could have seen that. Right, we’re just coming into seat and karu now and on the right hand side when we get to these old houses. Those of you who have seen me on the bike before and when I did a little tour in seat and crew as well, little stop over. We’ve got the house which was owned by John Darwin and his wife who I can’t remember her name. I’ll put the name up. So, it’s one of these on the right there. Me, the famous canoe man who lost his memory but was prosecuted in the end because his wife claimed the insurance and they went to prison. They’re out now. Also on the right, we’ve got the stain clip hotel which was due to be demolished. It’s since been saved. Oh, can you see the surface? Nice. It’s a cracking good golden flagage beach. Not many rocks about on that area. Great place for paddle boarding and for surfing of course. Beautiful houses on the right hand side there as well. It’s so seen through Victorian sire resort. I love it. We were here the other night for Brenda’s birthday. We had a lovely May. We played some balls. We’ll go past the balls place first in a minute. Larry’s ways. Yeah, it was great. Nice. And I always said, “What a cool beach. This is actually a walkway and a cycle route. Sometimes you get bothered. People showed at you for being on your bike, but we are actually allowed here. Sometimes people have the dogs loose because a bit of bother and uh sometimes they have the dogs on a long lead which is even more bother. There’s always people having high screens as well. That’s what you want. Got the putting green there. The beach huts. Kitty’s playground. I think there’s a padding hole there as well. And there’s a tiny little fire ground here. Not much going on at the moment. Of course, the kids are at school still. And on the left here, I’ll put some pictures up. We have got an area cordoned off for the little turns, but I do believe they’ve gone now. Lost this gentleman. Hi. Hi. Are you all right? Yeah. Have they gone? Yeah. I mean, there quite a few down there near the Norton Hotel. Yeah. They they’ve left the site, obviously. Yeah. And what they normally do is they’ll leave the site if they’re no longer needed and they’ll go to the beach and take the juveniles and strengthen them up. And they’ve gone a bit early this year, haven’t they? Yeah, they have. Because there was a fox here. Guess it hasn’t helped. But and a fox. Oh, we have no fox. We haven’t seen the fox this year. We had no foxes trouble this year. One or two sneaked off the Jews, but showed no intention of coming in. So I think we might have beat the fox, but was it being less than normal? Yes. Well, we had fewer birds to start with. Yeah. We had 240 birds last year. This year we had about 170. And they’re going back to Africa. Gambia. A Gambia. He’s done 100 miles by himself. Yeah. Amazing. It’s amazing. It knows where to go. I know. What? How? Why? Yeah. How does it know to stop at Spur Point? I have no idea. Yeah, it’s in their DNA without ever talking to a lady last week, a couple of weeks ago now. She said she stopped. She said, “Is the wreck still out?” I said, “Yeah, that’s it’s been out all day.” That’s good. She said, “I go and get me nephew.” I said, “Well, what’s for?” She said, “Well, I’ve been down this morning and I’ve buried I’ve buried 10 pound one pound coins in the wreck.” It’s coming down with his metal detector. I said, “Well, hope you find them all.” Tony, nice to meet you again. Probably I’m sure I have met you before. See you later. Have a good time. You, too. What a lovely man. So, this is just about as far as I can go. I’m going to stop and have a little drink. There we go. Woo. All right, let’s set back through the town and see what’s going on there. [Music] Give me my car down the road past the old amusement arcades. the old clock tower. Well, it is only 20 mph down here. Not that I’m going to get up to them speeds, of course. A Darham Hotel, the Seatan Hotel. Plenty of places for ice creams and such. Should we have a pop down? Yeah, we’ll have a cook down Church Street. Few guest houses down here into Holy Trinity Church. [Music] Nice peaceful little graveyard. I’ve done a few weddings in here and various other photo jobs as well. Get a good look at the church from over here. But some of them are looking a bit dilapitated, aren’t they? Dilapidated. Great little seaside resort, you know, plenty to do. Plenty of places to go for food or to have a drink or as I said, have a game of uh balls in Larry’s lanes. There it is. Larry’s Larry’s lads on my left. Talk of the town. I think I took a couple of pictures. just didn’t do any video. But uh [Music] that was Matt Mario on the left there and the Marine Hotel. We had a drink in all of them and the nine anchors down here. I don’t think the gentleman in the nine anchors was very happy with me taking me uh drink back to have it topped up. He didn’t seem to be anywhere. And I used to live just there once upon a time. This is further a building than I remember. Have a little ride on my Tell you what, I’ve only done about 3 miles, but me legs are already feeling it. Little bit at a time. Little bit at a time. Just follow Make a fish. These lovely houses I was talking about and the brand spanking new one coming up. It’s only a couple of years old or so. There was a derelict sort of little uh bungalow prodigy thing there and they’ve knocked that out. Not hurt this one. I’d love to have a little look inside. That’s a little bit too noisy. So yeah, the stainf hotel which was behind here, it’s uh I think it’s something to do with uh sports development or something. Didn’t seem to be anybody there. Did you have a chat with a little bit closer look at the canoe man’s house? One of these. I think this might have been the thorn one. We’re going to get off this road as quick as I can. I am tempted to pop in for fish and chips, but that won’t do me diet any good, will it? I don’t think I’m going to have lost any weight this week, but we’ll see, won’t we? I have agreed to do a little cycle ride from CM Harbor, which is way over there in the distance. You can’t see it from here. A little bit further north. We’re going to go on the train. We’ve done it before, but it was quite a few years ago when I was a lot fitter. I think it’s going to be about 18 to 20 miles, something like that. So, I need to get me fitness up. Going to do it with my good buddies Creo and Steve. Hope they’re getting themselves bit as well. Right, we’ll just whiz on down this bit. Got a little bit of a bank coming up. Most people on a bicycle wouldn’t even notice it, but because I haven’t been on for so long. I know it’s going to hurt me legs. Yeah, this is the bag. Hardly worth talking about, was it? The turn around. We’ll have a look at uh this little bit of archaeology. We believe it’s an old corn mill that was here a long time ago. They’ve been taking it up cuz they’re going to build houses here. Just about finished. I’m going to go along to the end of the pier. The old skeleton pier I believe it was called. Not sure what it’s called now. What? It’s about another mile or so. No, about half a mile to the end and back. That’ll probably take it up to about five miles, I think. I’ve been out this morning on a little course, a wood wood turning course. So, learning to make using the tools and we ended up making a little wooden apple. And I’ll show you that just fits into the palm of your hand and I’m very proud of it. I haven’t done anything like that since I was at school. And believe me, that was a long, long time ago. And it’s the first time I’ve been on a lathe, back on a lathe, since my father had a massive accident back in the 70s when he caught his arm around a big industrial metal lathe. Virtually losing the use of his arms. Well, one arm. He was lucky not to lose it. It’s lovely and peaceful in this little harbor, isn’t it? All right, one last bank. See if I’ve got it in me to get to the top. It’s one of my favorite spots to come and do videos. This, right, we could go around the marina, but I said I was only going to do four or five miles. And that is about four or five miles. [Music] So that’ll do, right? I hope you enjoyed that. If you did, don’t forget, give us a thumbs up, give us a like, leave a comment. Let me know if you want me to do any other parts of the town. and I’ll get out with me if I can do that. Right, that’s it. I will catch you next time. Bye-bye now.
