I’ve learnt how to whip and got the relative motion down okay, but i can’t help but feeling they don’t look super clean, and they feel horrible to do. I feel like i’m working super hard to bring the back end out and bring it back in again. Any tips appreciated 👍

Any advice on how to get my whips looking/feeling more natural and less janky?

  1. Move to bigger jumps, trying to whip on small stuff like this is just a waste of time, you dont get enough pop or air time due to the size and lip of the jump. Line next to what you are riding might be easier. Get more comfortable on bigger jumps before trying to do forced micro-whips.

you’re too far back on your bike, im no whip specialist but the weight on the back wheel is purely handled by your heels, the movement will feel better if you get your chin to always be above your stem and your arm engaged like this ↴ instead of this ↳

  3. Learn to ride the left set of tables.

They have a steeper lip so you get more air time, which in turn will help with whips.

The last jump on that line is the only one that’s really big enough, but it’s a shot to get the right speed for.
