I can remember going to the US Nationals back in 67. We thought those fuelers were fast and loud back then. lol Want to see a No Prep Kings race in Virginia a couple of years ago and I couldn't believe how loud and powerful those cars were. Not even close to what the fuelers are.
Nitro brings its own oxygen to the party. They run those beasts just short of hydro-locking. Its not so much combustion as a contained bomb. The spark plugs actually turn into glow plugs before the end of the run. The ignition system is enough to cause cardiac arrest if you were to hold on when it is firing.
