If in bigger pinion still moves both derraileur wheels and in small pinion the derraileur arm still has spring to the end of race is good, if the chain is new, because it will get longer with use, if you have just tuned an old one shortening it probably problems coming.

Too short. It’s easier to check in the smallest cog to see if the cage and B-screw are maintaining tension on the chain.
