Hi, everyone. I recently bought a second-hand C Line 6-speed Explorer, and I’ve noticed my heel keeps hitting the small wheels near the main frame while riding.

Not sure if the previous owner replaced them, but they seem to stick out a bit — possibly to help with folded rolling. It’s especially noticeable with larger shoes.

Anyone else experienced this?

Any simple fixes or adjustments?

  1. Wheels look thicker than stock. Also looks to be a wheel extender, meaning you can push the right wheel back in. I hope you’re not riding with it already extended.

  2. You can get rid of the wheel extender to see if that helps, normally your wheels would be attached to the frame where it is. People often like to put third party accessories like this on their bikes to make them better. This is fine, but Brommies are intentionally engineered in a very specific way to be able to fold as well as they do, so any changes you make may affect its rideability.

Try and mess around with the angle of your feet or move your foot up the pedal.

  3. That black extension piece the wheels are attached to makes them stick out more than if they were just attached to the blue part of the frame. You could remove the black extender if you can’t adjust to it.

  4. I think you can tilt the wheel extender further back if you loosen the bolts. Then it won’t be as close to your heels
