[Applause] Thank you very much, Rob. I try. I do try. This man looked like he didn’t even have to try very hard today. What an effort though from the world champion, the Olympic champion. And once again, a tour to France stage champion taking the individual time trial as indeed he did last year for his second tour stage victory. He was the out and out favorite, Adam. And he proved today exactly why. Yeah, the Belgian bullet shot out the gun, didn’t he? He was absolutely rapid. And yeah, you’ve just absolutely nailed it. I mean, we talk about riders that can get close to him. You know, Tad, Yonas, he just blew him out the water today with with what he’s good at really. You know, he is a specialist. He was the hot favorite for this, but I think even on his terms in his time, it’s probably up there with probably one of the best that he’s ever done by the Olympics. just an absolute monster when he gets onto that bike. And I can tell you that Remco aore is now up to second in the general classification after that effort. I’ll update you on all of that in a moment. But Robbie, you’re watching this practically salivating beside us here. Just look at the position and how relaxed he is on that bike. One of the things that apart from the the positioning which is could not be better is perfection on a time trial bike. But through this final kilometer until he gritted his teeth in the sprint to the line. Beyond that his face was so relaxed that all the energy was going into turning the pedals and going fast. But he he’s just it’s what it is. That’s what I was doing wrong. I tensed my face when I was time triing. Was it the relaxed face? The secret you could go back and do it all over again. Honestly, I was like this the whole way through. A that’s why put yourself in that much pain and not pull a face. But there there was no muscle activated that wasn’t going into making him go faster. He he executed every single detail of that time trial perfectly. It was phenomenal. And when you look at all the big hitters that he was able to take on there and and put them in the shade, he is out and out the best at this discipline, isn’t he? I say that obviously with Philippana not here, but you take on the competition you’ve got and let’s be honest, he’s been beating Ghana fairly regularly in the last couple of years. But he knows that, you know, his statement before the stage, he knows he’s the best. Um he puts that pressure on himself and time and time again, he performs and I think even if even if people had been here, I think we’d still have the same result. I’m trying to find out the full general classification shifts that we’ve had today. I do know that Remco is up to second. trying to calculate exactly where that leaves him. But if you look at the top 10 on the stage, Tali Pagachar finishing 16 seconds behind Remco. Eduardo Afini at 33 seconds. And I think the biggest shocker of the day really, Yonas Vingo finishing at 121. So not even finishing in the top 10 today on a day where we expected him to really perform. So that brings him down to fourth in the general classification. 1 minute and 13 seconds behind Tatty Pagatcha who is our new yellow jersey. The first time he’s worn that of this tour to France. Remco is up to second at 42 seconds. And just look at that. The local hero Kevin Vocala is now in third. And I think Yonas Vingo’s face says it all there. Clearly something wasn’t right today, Robin. And you spotted it early in the time trial. This is not what we would have expected at all. No. Well, the person expected the least was Dionas himself, but that shifting around on the bike, sort of writhing around and repositioning himself on the saddle all the time. Yeah, we do see it a bit in in time trials, but he looked so uncomfortable in the very early kilometers that it just never looked good. We we have to obviously say this is really early in this tour to France. We’ve got all of the mountains backended as ever. There’s not going to be panic, but it is a 24 hours where everything has shifted within that team isn’t it because yesterday they will have been incredibly happy motivated jubilant even at the performance on the sat climb coming into the finish when Talipatra didn’t manage to shake you finger go and today looks like a different rider Adam yeah I think the timing itself it’s something to worry about but I think what the team worried about more is the performance in itself why he was so off what’s the reason for him being so off everything’s normally so calculated within a team what they can do the what they can do etc. That that just looked way off for him and he didn’t look comfortable. And sometimes sometimes you can have an unexplainable bad day. Yesterday he said he did the best one minute power that he’s ever done. And we have to remember those efforts going super deep can take a toll on you. And that’s the thing. Is that why has he been dragged into a place? He has. Yeah. Yeah. But he has to respond to it and you know you can’t just keep backing off like you do. Tad’s used to do in these efforts. We’ve seen him in the classics all through the year, do them week in week out, and he’s used to them. But if I was the team, yeah, not too concerned with the time gap for now. It’s a long race, but the performance in itself, that will raise a few eyebrows. That will raise a few questions and it will raise a few concerns within the team, I’d say, more than anything. Oh, when do you reckon that the efforts of the last couple of days following today has left a sort of call it a scar on uh on Yonas with how he’s recovered and then performed in this? I’m not sure. I I think it’s still early enough into the race, but the the bigger thing is just the that massive switch between Tad and Jonas in the TT between the doof, you know, I think all of us sat here yesterday thinking this is going to be a great tour. You know, Jonas is at a super high level. He’s closing in on his weaknesses to Tad and then almost expecting him to be in the driving. Expected him to win. Is that the thing? Is that the thing that Jonas is going to cling to then? Because Tad had a shocker in the Dan in the time, but then dominated in the mountains. switch again maybe I don’t know yeah and and I have to say for anyone who is slightly newer maybe to the tour to France or who only tunes in to bike racing for the tour to France it is important to remember that every single day on a bike race like this everything can change like I say there will not be panic but certainly concern and there will be an awful lot of happiness and excitement in the UAE team Emirates camp because Tatty Pagatar is back in the yellow jersey after for that performance. He is now leading Remco a Nepal as his closest rival by 42 seconds. Robbie. Yeah, 42 seconds to Remco and I think it’s the place where Tad would reasonably been expected to be at this point in the race, but not with such a big gap on you and us. But you’ve been doing a bit of history research as well. It’s maybe not as shocking as it seems. No. And whenever we look at the time gaps after the time trial last year which came slightly later in the race, it was on stage at seven. Yonas Vingo was then again behind Remco and again behind Talibar by 1 minute and 15 seconds. So this time around he is actually slightly closer. He’s 113. Big difference. He came in underprepared. Six weeks underprepared for this race. He had the big crash. So I think that is acceptable then. Now this is when questions start. not questions but concern. So I think it’s not the be all and end all but don’t forget Yonas didn’t win the tour to France last year so that time he never got back. The worry for me is how can he take that much time out of Tadai because this isn’t this is one he’s either betting on one mountain as he did a few years ago and Tad blowing up but he will have to consistently knock chunks out of Tadai and I’m looking at Tad because it’s Tadai day in day out when he gets into the mountains. can’t just rely on one big day which is an awful lot of pressure and suits tad more those big accelerations although then again in in the mountain stage let’s take monon 2 a minute 13 between tad and yonas how many meters would that be on the road on the hard section of vonu speed there you go I mean a minute 13 is I mean it’s under a kilometer so on the road separated by not all that much in terms of a 3 and a half thousand km

Thrilling time trial indeed. Unless you are a citizen of Denmark, in which case this TT sucked! 😂😂😂
Visma might be cooked already
Absolutely class 👊👊👊👊👊
If I would sit on my bike like Remco I would slam into the crowd after the first turn.
The race will be won and lost in the mountains, not today
