Hi, I'm looking for a cheap MTB so I can attend group off-road rides that a local shop puts on. I've not been yet but believe this is sort-of "real" mountain biking, and I don't know that my rigid hybrid would survive.
I've found this GT Aggressor from approx 2000. Apparently this was a basic entry-level mtb, but it must have been upgraded, with Deore XT RD and brakes, LX cranks, other parts are unknown. The fork is basic and may be due for replacement. How is this deal and how feasible is a fork upgrade?
You didn't like the full-sus Mongoose I posted yesterday and suggested a hardball. And yes, I know it's bold and shit compared to new stuff. I just want to know if it can survive a bit of abuse. I just want a cheap bike that I will have no emotional or financial attachment to as I dip my toe into this hobby.
