Brecon Beacons. Gospel Pass

I’m going for a ride with Mike today up in the Brecon Beacons. We are heading for Gospel Pass the highest road in wales. Not up in Snowdonia, but down here just outside Abergavenny. Sun is out let’s see where we get too as we never just go straight there. Hope you enjoy watching and stay safe.

hi Kya today I’m with Mike and we’re going to be heading up into the Bracken beacons and we’re going to ride over the gospel pass which is the highest Road in Wales now most people would think the highest Road in Wales has got to be up in snowdonia but no it’s here just outside abeni as with all of our rides we never actually go straight there we’ve just got too much beautiful scenery in Wales to do that [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] on the back Lanes behind pandarian we come across the Red Lion in and they must be doing something right cuz whenever we come past the car park is full [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] after going up over the cor down through the forestry we come to the sline reservoir and [Music] [Music] Dam we’ve crossed over the A4 set and we’re back into the lanes and just passing the bre and Mountain Railway going up the valley to the pon stickle Reservoir [Music] [Music] this lovely little lane goes up the back side of [Music] [Applause] Pavan this is the highest point of the bulk arafan 599 m above sea level then down this steep little section into the valley and on to the talibon [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] reservoir nor Ripple like a mirror [Music] we cross over this little draw bridge which lifts for the canal barges we’re going to take a right now and go down the valley following the canal down to kowell and onto abeni we’re riding alongside the monmouthshire and Breen canal and we’re riding on the B 4558 [Music] [Applause] [Music] this little black car has clearly come to a stop but as I carefully go to pass it suddenly pulls out [Music] this beautiful stretch of the road follows the river Rusk [Music] Aban Best Stop on the Oasis Sandwich Bar after a coffee and a breakfast roll we’re off and this time we’re actually heading up to our destination the gospel pass [Music] [Applause] [Music] after riding through seven or eight miles of Lane we finally reached the summit which is at 549 m above sea level [Music] we pulled over by a just to let this tractor and trailer through but we stopped not a good 5 minutes just standing staring [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] coming down from the gospel pass through the lanes into hon [Music] y Road works well that’s the way we want to go follow diversion scenes so we did got totally lost not knowing the area eventually we got back on [Music] track just gone through bre and Homeward Bound now heading up towards the story arms past Terry’s Burger van and up over the top [Music] and as we ride off to the West in a rather cloudy Sunset I’d like to thank you for watching please hit the like button ring the bell click subscribe and comment this all helps the video channel progress
