They’re similar price point and both hybrid.

I’m looking for something I can use for 3-4x a week, max 40km on mostly hilly paved roads.

I was able to test ride the Trek and I did like it. Unfortunately my local warehouse doesn’t have the Giant to test it out 🫤

I currently have a Norco Hybrid/light mtb with suspension fork so it can get heavy. Been told I could do some upgrading but I don’t know anything about bike so that’s no dice for me.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

  1. from the quick 2 min search i did, both look pretty solid, but whether or not you’d be doing any commuting, the giant looks pretty solid, and it’d be what i’d choose since it has a rear rack and fenders.

However, as I said, either choice would be fine, and reguardless if what you choose, a nice set of tires will make a great deal of difference in terms of how comfortable your ride feels. Ride your bike for a while, wear out the tires, and then I’d recommend asking for advice at a local bike shop on some nice (big) squishy tires to make riding even more comfortable.

Any other upgrades and Id recommend consulting a local bike shop, just so you can find the best bang for your buck

if you plan on commuting and you’re gonna put a rack and fenders on it, go for the giant. you’ll save money.
