I've just joined the fold and my new (to me) Brompton (red/white) desperately needs an overhaul but also a fresh powder coat.

I have a honey brown leather saddle that I want to use and want to limit the use of black as much as possible. Tires have to be tan wall (Conti cream to be precise) I know this is a highly personal issue but I'm undecided between the following colour choices:

  • Have it powder coated in British Racing Green (safe bet)
  • Have it in a slightly lighter, shinier shade, like Dark Candy Green
  • Sandblast and lacquer, I really like the brazes but rust is a concern
  • A somewhat safer gray
  • Yolo it all the way and make it candy purple with gold accents and call it "LeBrom James"

Candy Purple, I wish I would’ve gotten a loud color like that.

  2. The shiny green will match your brown leather saddle and accessories well. Always think about how the color will go with your accessories.

Sandblast & Lacquer without a doubt. If done well, rust isn’t an issue.
Looks awesome with both silver or black parts.

Yellow! I think it will go nicely with your honey coloured saddle…
