About three weeks ago, I picked up a vintage bike—nothing expensive, just something to test the waters.
Since that first 4-mile ride, I’ve logged 51 miles, with my latest being a 12-mile trip on a scenic rail trail near me. Each ride has been an adventure, a bit of exercise, freedom, and a meditative calm that I cant get enough of.
I (40f) wish I hadn’t waited so long to give biking as an adult a try. I’m already planning to upgrade before the end of summer, cause I’m hooked.

It’s the best feeling in the world, isn’t it? Don’t regret waiting so long to give it a try; instead, as you clearly are, just continue being happy that you did. It’s something I think we take for granted in childhood; in adulthood, I think we know how lucky we are that we learned to ride a bike. There really is nothing like that feeling as the bike starts to move and you’re off on another adventure.
