Frame says "SPORTS 12." It also has a decal that says CP-2. It says "Peugeot approved." Tires were made in Japan. Suntour brakes. Any thoughts about the exact year/model of this?
CP-12 probably the 1 is covered up. You can find catalog scans online.

I swear people can post the sweetest 80s bike ever on here that they purchased for basically nothing and people will be like “erm actually not a good deal”. Seriously sweet bike tho, you don’t see lugged frames like that much anymore

Love an old bike. If memory serves Peugeot produced a ton of bikes in the 70s and 80s for the North American market. An iconic brand for sure. You might also want to check out r/Vintage_bicycles
