After years of lurking, replacement of railway rails a my usual S-train line gave me the excuse the pull the trigger as busses have replaced the trains until the end of September. Usually I can bring my bike in the trains, but that’s not possible in the busses – unless it’s a proper folder.

Couldn’t get any new Brompton in Copenhagen, so I contacted dealers in Sweden and Germany with the intention of buying a 2 speed C-line.

However, a Swedish dealer had a barely used second hand M3L in raw lacquer for sale. It wasn’t much cheaper, but the raw lacquer is such a stunner!

  1. The raw lacquer is great looking. Next used one I see I’m going to try and snatch it up.

  2. Seems like only yesterday I got my Brompton. I need to still name him, have been using his Majesty till now.

    Enjoy your rides !

  3. Looks like a million bucks! Thumbs up.

Now take very good care of it. I tend to use car products to clean it. A good ceramic detail spray so water doesn’t stick on the clear coat. (Sonax soap and that detailer is cheap and good). Helps a lot to keep it clean and shiny.
Get one of those metal plates which stick on with 3M tape to protect the part of the frame in front of the bottom bracket. You can see the rear tyre touch the part of the frame. Tyre = rubber but grime and sand on a tyre = sandpaper. Doesn’t cost a lot, looks cool and certainly protects!
Saddle, always take like a plastic bag with you or in the frame. If it rains you will need to protect it. Also get Proofide for that leather. A small amount will last you and that cool saddle a life time.
Oww, and number one get a good pump with a meter. 100 PSI rear and depending, just experiment like 80 to 100 PSI at the front. Check pressure every week!!! These bikes should actually never be sold without a good pump.

Ok, enough mister wise guy (talking to myself). Welcome to the fold and enjoy every ride!
