Yeah, why not. But make something out of it, so it can be a meaningful part of your home or something. If you are going to just leave it in the garage, you might as well chug it.

When I was helicoptered to the hospital after a ski accident, I apparently pled with the folks trying to save my life to not cut off all my expensive gore-tex clothes (no memory of this and my brain wasn’t exactly firing at 100%).
My wife threw all that bloody gear away, including my cracked helmet. She didn’t want the reminder and I don’t miss it.
That said, our local ski shop has a display of cracked helmets that saved people’s lives. Great way to sell new helmets! Maybe your LBS does something similar.
