Any advise on painting mini hubs? I got one in a pale piss yellow colour. Anodised and scratched all over. I want to spray paint it black.
I’m thinking sand paper to rough it up. Etch primer, then black spray paint for 2-3 coats. I never painted anything alloy other than seatposts and they always came out shitty.
Anyone painted their with good results?

It’ll look worse than the pee color. Especially when it starts to chip or flake.
Do a google search bc I can’t remember off the top of my head what removes anodizing. Whatever it is you for sure want to wear safety glasses.
You could also hand polish this to bare aluminum
Alternatively, just the right amount of time in some “drain-cleaner” might make the shell perfectly coloured, with much less effort (and more individuality). 👍
Just get a cheap anodizing setup. Just need acid and a power supply.
