How do you develop the skills to take corners like the ones on this trail?

I'd be either going very slowly, dabbing my foot, or walking my bike on almost all of these corners – and that's just the first 4 minutes.

Are there flat lands skills practice you can do to improve your bike handling so you can ride these types of corners?

Just watched the first four minutes and this trail looks fun, might have to go visit

Here in bc, the kinds of corners you’re seeing are quite normal. The #1 way to learn how to do them is just do them, time in cockpit helps with a lot of these skills

But to be more practical, take them a bit slower and wider. Make a bigger arc than you’d expect. Remi is riding them quite tight because he’s comfy leaning his bike to avoid the trees. this can be hard without lots of practice

Dean is hopping his back wheel around a lot, which is also valid. being able to pivot off of your front wheel is a very valuable skill which takes patience to learn, but is quite worthwhile.

But yeah, just getting out there and doing it is the greatest teacher!

  2. The funny thing is that these corners are much harder than this video makes them look. Lots of walk lines have opened up since he rode it.

I guess flat cornering drill wouldn’t hurt. Most of it is leaning the bike, and keeping enough weight on the front to actually turn.
