An armed attack has been reported in the
Plaine Saint-Denis industrial zone. Mill well received, I’m going for it. Giaku Position Next. Mageri Uchiro ramaochi. Mawachigeri Giaku and I
return to the starting position. Got it?
Come on, let’s go! Keep it up and you’ll move up the ranks. Oh, that’s cool, I assure you! *** she good, *** a fucking
atomic bomb. Check she is Make Maker Champion of France. My friend. Stop the car,
stop what are you doing. Come back, it could be dangerous, darling. Miss, how are you? but quickly
we look if we have paws. Hi Leon. It happened here after the first
observations. This is our man. And this time, it smells good.
There are the witnesses. And the victim. She is the petite young woman, 24 years old. According to the doctor, she’s not seriously hurt,
she’s just in shock, miss. Commissioner of the Criminal Brigade. I would like to ask you a few questions.
Are you able to answer me? Yes. I was scared shitless,
but now I’m okay. Were you able to see your attacker? Oh yeah, can you describe it to me? A man. Tall, about four foot two. A tough, dark-haired guy, really tough. Do you think you can help us draw up
a profile? Yes, I think so. Thank you. You take over.
Okay, boss. Are you done with the lady?
I’ll take you to the PJ. No.
No, no, no, Moulin, that’s enough! I want this composite portrait
tomorrow morning all over Paris. You never know how it turns out, Mr. Director. If we’re lucky,
we’ll accommodate him, but if we’re not, eh? The guy puts his instincts on hold and then, no sooner said than done,
gets lost in traffic. Listen Moulin, this guy raped
and murdered at least six young women. It is almost a matter of state. The prosecutor, the minister, everyone agrees
and it’s me who has them on my back. So please do me a favor. Let’s move forward. It’s not normal for your neighbor to walk around naked in front of his window,
but it’s up to your local police station to
contact us, right? In the meantime, in the meantime,
what did I want to tell you? Draw your curtains! So it’s crazy,
it hasn’t stopped since this morning. It gives something.
As per usual. Everyone thinks they’ve seen it everywhere. Criminal Brigade.
I’m listening. Here’s Guyot. He seems awfully excited to me,
the athlete, as you say. And the athlete hasn’t been idle. Look at this! Well, in any case,
if it’s not him, it’s his twin. Yeah, so Broniski Gérard,
born June 11, 1961 in Saint-Denis, a dozen convictions for minor
offenses, the first at sixteen, kicked out of the Legion for violence
and temperamental instability. Yeah, he fits the bill, it could be a good fit. You found this or it’s a… Social worker who called this morning and she was the one who
processed his RMI file. So you speak, If she recognized him. Where does this guy live? He lived near Barbès in a furnished apartment, but I went to see him,
but he left six months ago. How did you go and see? Come on, but don’t tell me you were going to
do the check yourself! Yeah, but are you completely crazy
or do you know who this guy is? Is he a nutcase?
Yes, but wait. I have some experience though. It’s true, I went there quietly. What do you want to happen to me? And then, just in case,
I asked for my fly swatter. I’m going to make you
want to stop playing the young fool. I’ll lock you in your office and you’ll have all the time you need to count
the flies, you see. Still, it’s nice. So we devote ourselves and that’s how we get
thanked, right? Yes. And what happens
if you get shot? Eh ? What am I becoming? I want us to focus on this guy.
you peel his CV for me. I want to know everything about him, all his friends, his fellow inmates, at what age he
started wetting the bed. I want to know everything. It’s good. Broniski’s brother, he lives
here on the second floor, what kind? Like, according to the
alcoholic caretaker who’s been unemployed for ages, it’s his wife who’s keeping
the pot boiling. She does the housework. As for him, he came to see
his brother regularly once a week. But according to the puppet, it’s been
two months since he saw you again, he’s certain. Yeah, that confirms the listening. According to the slums,
he hasn’t received any calls from his brother. That’s perfect, we’ll go
pay him a little visit. I don’t give a damn about Gérard. I don’t know where he is
and I don’t want to know. All right now, you can
tone it down and stop drinking, right? No booze, Commissioner. It’s atavism,
as we say here. Drunk father, drunk son! Tell me, Commissioner, clear up any doubts I have, right now.
After all that’s been said about him, he… Chances are, yes. You want me to tell you if it’s the real truth, Gérard,
even if he’s my brother. There, he makes me ashamed. He has no excuse for such crap. If I held him in my own
hands, I would kill him. We’re not asking you to kill
your brother, sir. Just to let me know in case
he tries to contact you. One last question. When was
the last time you had your brother? Gérard, it’s been a while, huh? Oh, I don’t know. At least two years. Yeah, yeah, that’s it, two years. Okay, don’t bother. Your caretaker said he saw
your brother less than two months ago. Not two years, two months. So stop treating us
like idiots and tell us where he is. I don’t know, I tell you.
I don’t know. Listen to me carefully,
I know you know where your brother is. All right.
So in the end you are an accomplice. Both of them were complicit in murder and they will get
at least fifteen years in court. And the booze, I can
tell you that it ended in the hole. Tell them, Michel, all this is useless. He’s in the cellar, number 42. But don’t say
I’m the one who snitched, eh! Do n’t worry, my friend, wherever your brother goes,
he won’t come looking for trouble for you. I’m calling the BRI, boss. Yes, and say time to hurry up. Come on ! Police are moving.
More. Police, back off. Now step back. You turn slowly. Around you. Turn around. Don’t act smart.
It would be a shame if I damaged you. Come on, get up, you bastard! Broniski Gérard André Louis, born June 11, 1961 in Saint-Denis,
appeared today, May 12, 2004, before us, at the Paris Assize Court,
for the rape and murder of Sonia Lebon,
committed on May 6, 2000. Elisabeth Rodier, committed on November 2. Broniski. Do you have anything to declare ? Yeah. This is all a load of rubbish. I am judged in advance.
She already broke me. Your rotten justice.
If I take it for a flight. I don’t give a damn about your bike.
I don’t give a damn about you. What is. Are
you looking for Broniski? Do you want to make your
defense impossible? Shut up!
It’s all bullshit. The hearing is suspended. We’re evacuating the room. Open the door for me. I have two words to say to you abruptly. Get up, leave me alone, go away
. But what do you believe? Having been proven guilty of at least five of the six murders you are accused of,
you will take the maximum. So raise your head and
at least try to face reality. You have left the world of men and the only way to return
is to confess, confess and ask for forgiveness. That’s all we ask of you. I can’t. I can’t. Stop whining. The President can force you to appear and believe me,
he won’t hesitate. I don’t give a fuck. I want to go back to prison. In this case, you will
defend yourself. Wait. So tell me you’re
going to confess to your crimes. I’ll try.
I’ll try. But it hurts. It hurts too much. Does it hurt? I hope at least you
will keep your commitment. Sit down.
The hearing is resumed. Did this interruption
give you any advice? Have you finally decided to speak? Yes. What I’m about to say
will hurt everyone. I can’t do it.
Go for it. Come on ! Please, sir. You are welcome. You can’t
leave us like this. I need to know. She’s my sister. She is dead. Please. Please ! It started four years ago. I met your sister. It lasted 2 hours. 2 hours during which he watched. The parents of each victim. Right in the eyes, he has them. Told in great detail how
they had massacred their child. He will have spared nothing. Tell everything, Everything. Despite all these horrors. What is strange about this situation. That’s just families. It seemed to relieve them. There is even one. A young mother who. That he stood up and said. THANKS. Thank you for confessing. I understand her. You understand her. How can you thank a bastard
who just murdered your child? Did he confess everything? Not quite. Mr. President. There are some things that are
undeniable in this case. Go Broniski. One last effort. You only have one crime left,
that of Beatrice Lenormand. Oh no, I didn’t kill her. I didn’t kill that one. You’re not going to pin
that on me? I didn’t kill that one. It’s not me. I swear to you.
It’s not me. Alright. I call Commissioner Moulin to the bar
as a witness. Commissioner Moulin Jean Paul,
born on 29/09/45 in Bern, Switzerland. Profession: Divisional Commissioner
at the Paris Criminal Brigade. Raise your right hand. Swear to tell the truth,
I swear, Commissioner. The accused, as you have heard,
denies the crime of Mademoiselle Lenormand. What do you think? I think he’s dead,
Mr. President. Can you tell us why? Because this murder,
like the five other men, bears what is called in criminology
the same signature of crime. Commissioner, please clarify for the ladies
and gentlemen of the jury. This is a way of operating typical of a serial criminal,
in this case Brezinski. Slashing
his victims’ bras. Between the two cups
and the panties on the right side. He always did it like that. This is also how we found
Miss Lenormand’s body. And even if in this murder, unlike the others,
we did not detect traces of DNA, this still constitutes a strong
presumption of guilt. A strong presumption, nothing more. Mr. President, may I
ask the witness a few questions? Have it put on. I think you know
Professor Laroche, Commissioner. I know him, of course. Professor Laroche, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, and the greatest
French specialist in serial killers. However, his expertise included in the documents in
the case does not really support your point, Commissioner, not to
say that he frankly contradicts you. Please, Master, go on, by the way. Well, according to Professor Laroche, Miss Lenormand’s crime is
not attributable to Bronsky. And this for several reasons. But whatever his reasons,
the problem, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, is that Bronsky
could not have killed Beatrice Lenormand. He physically couldn’t. Because at the time of the events, Brodsky was hospitalized in
Brest for a suicide attempt. Brest, in Finistère, that is to say
600 kilometers from the scene of the crime. Mr. President,
the documents that attest to this fact. You did not proceed.
To this verification. Commissioner. No more than the investigating judge,
Mr President. Bronsky has always refused to talk to us
to verify his information. He had to give it to us first. You may return to
your seat, Commissioner. But look at this woman,
I’m not ready to forget her. You know, something heartbreaking. But you, what do you believe? Do you think that for Beatrice,
the Norman is innocent? You know me. The first thing I did when I
left the courthouse was to check. There is no doubt. When Beatrice Lenormand was murdered
for what was in the hospital in Brittany. This means that the real
murderer is still at large. Is that what you think? There is a chance. Okay, come on. I have school tomorrow. Excuse me, man, everything you just told me,
I’m not feeling very cuddly tonight. We’ll have lunch together tomorrow. All right ? Come on, have a good night. Oh my little one.
Daddy, I’m here, you! I thought you were in New York.
But I cut the short stay short. Studying is great,
but it doesn’t feed your wife. No, actually, there was an employer who saw my CV, was very interested,
called me and told me to come in. Finally, he wanted to see me very quickly. CNRS No, no, what is the detergent manufacturer
? Ah good ? But since when do laundry detergent sellers
need sociology doctors? To study the markets?
Of course! Know who their consumers are, their psychological profile,
in short, the whole shebang! Know why a woman will
buy a particular product. Interesting,
it seems to be something you’re passionate about anyway. I don’t know if I’m passionate about it,
but at least it has the merit of putting butter in the spinach,
if you know what I mean. Yeah, come on, I’m for you. Yes. I’m coming back from the Browning trial,
if I couldn’t go in shorts. And Dad, my dear little dad,
I wanted to ask you if it’s possible for me to
stay at your place for a day or two? Because I
saved my studio a little, of course. At your place, here, no problem. As for me,
I’m preparing something to eat. Do you want something? No, no thank you, No, I’m going to impieties. I’m exhausted, I don’t
feel like chatting. You work too much, my
dad, you work. Too much. See you
tomorrow. See you tomorrow. I leave and
inadvertently knock over Mrs. Mimouni. Inadvertence.
Charlotte, what is this? How ?
You’re kind, Leon. You can see I’m working here, right? So you manage,
you take a dictionary? Well, you see, that’s destiny.
So we’re going to inadvertently let it go and then we’re going to
write instead that you knocked down poor Mrs. Mimouni because she was
trying to intervene, eh? What do you think of this version? That’s more correct, isn’t it? SO. Uh yeah. Hello, boss. Earthling. Life sentence with an
irreducible sentence of 22 years. Well, that’s a pretty
good sentence, isn’t it? Yes, yes, yes.
Except in Husky’s case, I’m not sure 22 years
in jail changes anything. So. Well, other than that, nothing special. If there is a woman
waiting for you in your office. Besides, I believe that it is related to the case
of a certain Madame Lenormand. She keeps it. Hello Mrs.
Good morning. Know. I wanted to thank you for yesterday. But no, it was nothing. If I. Last night after the trial. If you knew like that. It felt good to talk. Not to be alone. He listened to me without interrupting. Without telling myself the eternal truth,
I put myself in your place. Can anyone
put themselves in my shoes? This is a strong thought. So intense. Nothing more to relieve. I tried to tell myself that one day
I would go find her. So. I cried so much, Commissioner,
that I can’t shed another tear. I am ashamed. It is not necessary. To not have
any feelings of guilt. You simply gave too much. Now you have to think about
rebuilding yourself. Rebuild. Do you have other children, madam? No. She was my only daughter. Well, just for her. You have to fight. You can’t give up, you can’t
give up. This is not what it’s like to
lose a child. Is there anything I can do
to help you? You put them on. Honestly, yes. The wheel would investigate my daughter. I investigated after two years. You don’t want to, is that it? It’s going to be difficult. Testimonies are distant and unreliable.
You shut up. Me. The facts.
It is the fear of nature. You don’t know anything because you thought it was that
brownie ski we judged yesterday. But today it’s different. You know as well as I do that
he wasn’t my daughter’s murderer. What is officially required
for the justice system to reopen the investigation? A new fact, madam. So, the fact that. Brownie, who was found innocent of Beatrice’s crime,
is a new fact. Enough, right? Does n’t it bother you to know that a man is sick in the wild
and could start again at any moment? Yes, yes, you are right, Norman. It bothers me. I will reopen the file. But I warn you, I don’t want to
give you false hope. You have already suffered a lot. This is an investigation that. You’re not sure you’ll succeed. But difficult. Looking for my daughter’s murderer. Arrest the Commissioner.
You are welcome. I can’t go on
living like this. I’m going crazy or I’m going crazy. I will do my best. Do you promise me? You have my word. What do you eat? I’ve been
looking for you everywhere for five minutes, Jean-Paul. We’ve consumed 217 kilos in six months and
I’m only talking about our floor, right? Look at !
What do they do with it? Do they eat them or what? What do you care about
polishing clothes? Why don’t you get
a calculator? It will go faster. There, you’re very kind, but it
might go faster indeed. But it prevents
the neurons from working. And at my age, if you want to protect yourself from Alzheimer’s, things have to be
spinning up there, right? Gymnastics.
Gymnastics. You’re going to be served. Are
you going to the archives? You’ll get me
Béatrice Lenormand’s file. Do you remember?
Oh yes, I remember that. But why do you want to see that? I feel like we’ve
let ourselves fall asleep on this matter. And then Madame Lenormand came out of my office and
she wasn’t very well. So if we can help him, huh? If it’s humanitarian, I’ll discuss it. I. Laugh because. What
are you eating looks appetizing? I’m going to edit the chef, I’ll excuse you, but given
the time, I started without you, boy. Same as miss,
please. And me, my dessert please. I’ll have to go back. I also work sometimes. Oh, excuse me, I had my nose
in a file, I can’t pass it to them. Hmm. If it was the first time, I imagine
it’s a habit in the police. The chef’s raw vegetables for the gentleman, thank you. And the ladies’ fruit salad.
Thank you so much. I put you.
A little crème fraîche, no? Go for it. No really, it’s pretty dry too. It’s not dry. Look, there’s a little
olive oil there, on top. Indeed,
it looks very appetizing. Yes Alain, this file.
This file is good. Imagine that Madame Lenormand
came to see me this morning. I had to open it again. Several reasons. First, because
his daughter’s murderer is still on the loose. And secondly,
it seemed vital for her to know the circumstances in which
her daughter had been murdered. It’s hard to understand,
but that’s how it is. I wouldn’t want to know.
You ? No, honestly, no.
No. I think so. Can you imagine seeing the rape or crime of your childhood over and over again without ever being
able to banish the images from your mind? No. No, definitely not.
No. It’s unhealthy. But that’s what
comes out every time. The parents of the victims say that the confessions of their child’s killer
bring them peace or relief. That’s how it is. In any case, he pays for your file. Yes, it’s that thick,
but actually it’s quite hollow. Not many testimonies, clues. The guy who did this acted with
almost scientific rigor. You should go see La Roche. He’s still the great French specialist in serial killers, so that
might enlighten you. I actually made an
appointment with him this afternoon. It was thanks to her conclusions that the lawyer from Nice who
blew my nose during the trial. Hmm. Well, I’m going to be late. Well, I’ll leave you the bill. You were the last to arrive. I’m used to it. That’s all. Good boy. Add the crème fraîche. A.
Good morning, Commissioner. I was waiting for you.
Hello, Professor. I’m sorry, I’m late.
You are welcome. We can barely finish lunch. I present to you my assistant,
Doctor Frédéric. Hello, Commissioner.
Nice to meet you. As she came to
consult us, to consult us. Yes, yes, absolutely. Because thanks to your boss
who was exonerated. Well, I’ll leave you. Goodbye, Goodbye. So I decided
to reopen the case. I wonder if this murder might have
been the work of another serial killer. No sexual violence. A murder carried out with
incredible fury. If you ask me point blank, I would say it’s more
for something passionate. Do you think I should look in the victim’s circle for a
jilted lover or something like that? I said point blank like that No. Let us not forget that the crime
actually bears this signature characteristic of Boniface, which is the
laceration of the bra between two cups with cuts
of the panties on the right side. Moreover, if we look at it from another point of view, it seems to me that there is
a coldness in the execution, a desire to confuse the issues
that contradict the passionate character. And there, with you, we have to get our
neurons moving. It is the waltz of hypotheses,
surely old professorial failings, the taste for dialectics, the exercise
of rhetoric thesis, antithesis. And what is synthesis? Let’s say we’re dealing with an emulator
of Bonnie Husky, a sort of pale copy. It’s not certain, but if that were the case, it would mean that he would have only done it
once. We searched all our
files, which are quite exhaustive on cereals,
and we found nothing. On the other hand, it is very possible that this murder has similarities with
the isolated or unsolved crime. But we only deal with cereals and we don’t have
records of other murders. And so do we. I know someone right now. It seems to me that this
could be a lead. Thank you, Professor. In any case, your help has
been invaluable to me. But damn, where is this 24? How do you want me to know? They all look alike, these shacks.
But your glasses! Guillot, stop being a coquette! You’re not coming?
No, no, no. This kind of atmosphere makes me feel depressed. I can see the picture from here. I’d rather wait for you here,
if you don’t mind. Commissioner Lenormand, I would like to ask you a few
questions, if I may. Of course.
Come in. This is my daughter. She is beautiful. And this is your husband? Yes. He died a year ago. He fell ill
shortly after Beatrice’s murder. He’s lucky, he joined her. Madame Lenormand, is that it? Did your daughter
have a boyfriend? No.
Of course not. She’s in her final year of high school, she’s working hard. Excuse me. I always speak about it in the present tense. I find it hard to believe that she left me. No, she didn’t have a girlfriend. When we talked about it, she said that. That she had plenty of time. He wanted to study medicine. I could see his room. Sure, are you coming? Knowing that misery. You are welcome.
Excuse me. Nothing has changed since she left. This may sound silly, but. I feel like I’m
touching anything. I would feel his presence less. Forgive me, but I. I would like to be left alone, please. Yes. You can close the door. February 20th Good weather 17 years
Philosophy with congratulations from the teacher. Nadine de Cours.
My rival was green with rage. Each in turn. Here we are, the holidays are coming soon. Only one more week and it’s gone. Organized walk, skiing,
picnic and nightclub. Total blast. This is my first year without my parents. Wow! That said, I will miss them
and I am especially afraid of missing them. They say that children are the symptoms
of their parents, but I don’t ask. If it is not the opposite. It lasted for ages. You can forget your
veteran music. Afterwards, it’s nice, the museum is. Nice museum, but I
‘m not in the mood. THANKS. So did you find
anything interesting? Nothing. No hassle,
no boyfriend, no enemies. La Roche was right. It’s not a crime of passion in any case. This is not the
direction you should be looking in. Charlotte called. She is up to her neck in the archives
to unearth a murder that could resemble that
of little Lenormand. A real titanic job. To be a little charitable, right? Bingo, boss! The night was fruitful. I’ve got your hands on the
tip-top humorous response from the little Lenormand. At this point. 17 stab wounds and it
couldn’t be more realistic. It is an exact copy. It happened in Versailles. Next door, in Fontenay le Fleury. It was Tranchant of the Crime Department
who was on the case. What did he say? They caught the culprit the same day. A painter and painter in his thirties,
a man named Pierre Morris. He has a rather good face.
And he didn’t chew. He confessed everything in police custody. He is imprisoned in Aunis
awaiting trial. Well, you see, when you want to, you do
n’t do so badly, eh? Call me sharp and tell him to come. Hmm. You bet I remember it. It’s not the kind of thing
you just forget about. With his airs of not having any. That little husband was a real bastard. And how did you tighten it?
By chance ? A guy making his dog pee. He saw him rush out
of the vacant lot. It’s over there, everyone
knows everyone. And he sat down at the table right away. Well, we helped him
a little bit anyway. That’s to say ? That means we cooked it,
but gently. You know me, I’m a stickler
for procedural codes. The slap box
is not the house style. So there you have it,
this story was a piece of cake. His fingerprints were found
on the murder weapon. Why are you interested in this guy? Because I have a crime. The same judges on their hands. If you ask me, this guy
is no stranger to this. Certainly. Well, thank you Tranchant, if I need any other details,
I’ll say hello. Okay.
No problem. Then you say hello to Guillaume because it’s been ages since I’ve
seen him. I won’t listen. Commissioner. Me, the criminal brigade,
what happened to you? I don’t know anything.
I bumped into myself. Wasn’t it your
fellow inmates who beat you up? Am I wrong?
What does it matter to you? Are you a social worker?
Sit down. Yes. I have bad news for you. At this point, I don’t see
what the worst thing that could happen to me is. It can always be worse. I’m dealing with a crime that bears a
striking resemblance to the one you’re carrying out. Yeah. This one is going to be
pinned on me too. This is the way it’s going.
But what is this bastard? I’m innocent, damn it. Innocent.
I don’t know. You still confessed to the crime
you’re accused of, right? They forced me.
I’m killing myself saying it. Nobody listens to me.
But it’s true. Who is it?
Who ? The cops, obviously,
it lasted for hours and hours. Without eating, without drinking.
It always came back. Their questions, always the same. They told me I was lying, so
they made me start all over again. I couldn’t take it anymore.
I. I wanted it to stop. So I ended up telling them
what they wanted to hear. That it was me. And where did your fingerprints on the knife
come from? Seriously, Commissioner? You know as well as I do that
these fingerprints prove nothing. It’s true that I
touched that fucking knife. But I didn’t kill anyone.
I swear! Honestly, Commissioner,
I’m not telling you any lies. I just saw a silhouette, that’s all. And why didn’t you tell
the cops who arrested you about all this? Of course I told them about it. But he wouldn’t listen.
They told me that I took them for fools and that I had better
confess, otherwise he would get angry. Did you see this guy leave? What was he like? I don’t know, I didn’t go into detail. He was too far away. Admit that it’s little. January 6, 2002 at 10:09 a.m. Could you remember? It was January 6, 2002,
but you’re kidding, Commissioner. It’s been two years. How do you expect me to remember that? I don’t know anything about it. Well, I know. I spoke with your boss. He looked at his schedule and on January 6, 2002 at 10:09 a.m., you were
on a construction site in Clichy. Well, it’s possible.
So what? So what? 500 meters from the construction site,
a young girl was massacred. 17 stab wounds, exactly like
the one you are accused of murdering. Her name was Beatrice Lenormand.
She was 18 years old. Life ahead of her. She has the misfortune of
crossing your path. Unless that night
you saw a mysterious figure. I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Damn, it’s not possible
such bad luck! But I must have been a real
scoundrel in a previous life. And I have to pay.
It can’t be any other way. I’ve never seen this girl. I don’t know her. I don’t know who it is. Have you ever found yourself in the wrong
place at the wrong time? I’d like to.
It’s called bad luck. Both. It’s hard to swallow. You’re like everyone else,
you don’t listen. You came with your certainties. I can’t do anything about
people like you. So believe what you want. Let me be accused of all the crimes
on earth, I don’t give a damn anymore. Nothing more. Anyway, when you’re caught in this
spiral of shit, there’s no point in trying to defend yourself;
you’re guilty in advance. The only way out
is to die. You are wrong. It’s not in death that we… It’s in the front. I have nothing more to say to you, Commissioner. Can I go back to my cell? But Charlotte. Yes, I’m getting out of prison. I just spoke with Mouri.
I don’t know. I feel like Tranchant
is withholding information. Oh yes ? Call him and tell him to come to the office.
I want to see him there. I’ll be there in 45 minutes. Okay. What’s up?
You saw him die, huh? Is there a problem? I have a feeling you have
n’t told me everything. We change our. What is this nonsense? A small detail that bothers me. A procedural stupidity. Yes, he told me about a figure
dragging a body behind a low wall. However, in your report,
this is not mentioned anywhere. You’re not going to bother me with that. He confessed What more do you want? That’s not enough. You should have checked. What ? But check what? The guy has his back to the wall.
So what? Is this guy a bastard? I’ve never seen a crime scene this disgusting in my life,
you know? Okay, listen, you can tell me whatever you want
, but in 30 years in the company, you’ve seen some gruesome stories
and not some pretty ones, eh? So please
don’t take me for a fool. No. Not as disgusting as that,
because Maurice didn’t just stab his victim,
he threw vitriol in his face. Do you know what that means? Vitriol in the mouth, That means
more face, So you feel it? THANKS.
What are you telling me? It’s not mentioned anywhere. Or that’s
another story, huh? This is the prosecutor’s order. He says less press is better,
that’s true for the people. And I agree with him on that, because when you throw out
stupid information, it gives bad ideas to
crazy people like the other one. Does that explanation work for you? Yeah, it’s sharp, I get it. But you see, you told me that this morning. You would have saved yourself the trip. Worries everywhere. Doubts. About dying.
Yes, I spoke. I spoke with Tranchant too. This isn’t all clear. Yet, on paper, it’s square. The crime Morris is accused of was
carried out with 17 stab wounds, exactly like that
of the Lenormand girl. It can’t be a coincidence. Except that in addition to the 17 stab wounds,
Maury’s supposed victim was Vitriol. Which is not the case
with Béatrice Lenormand. But that doesn’t appear anywhere. That’s exactly what’s not clear. Apparently, we didn’t want to
scare the population. Do you think Maury
could be innocent? For now, I believe Nothing.
I. He seemed sincere to me. Good. He was the one who found the body, Pietra’s habit and her
buoys like glasses. It must be said that it is not a pretty sight. It’s not. Even though we’re used to it,
it still has a bad effect. In any case, as far as you are concerned, you are getting closer to the goal,
pure vitriol and without wanting to add anything. The bastard who did this
really went all out. Traces of sexual violence? At first glance, no. The killer went after her.
Several stab wounds. I can’t tell you if there were
17, but it’s close. I can carry the body to. Write, to be finished for y. If I have something,
I will let you know the results. All right.
Thank you Sophie. I don’t really know how Leon, but
I think we woke up a very sick person. In any case,
we’re not going to blame Maurice for this murder. It’s clear. Fucking die. Rotten . Rotten
. Rotten . Yes.
Does she feed? And you ? He lost quite a bit of blood,
but he was given a transfusion. He is out of danger. Don’t stay too long.
He needs rest. THANKS. Even my death, I ca
n’t succeed. I’m a real unlucky guy. With this crime that has been pinned on me
and for the past eight months that I have been locked up. He treats me like shit. I’m nothing but a girl anymore. Commissioner. No more honor, nothing more. Yet, I never did anything wrong. I am innocent. And I know you are innocent. What are you
playing on me here? I’m playing fair. Just yesterday, a young woman
was stabbed to death 17 times. It could very well be a copy
of the murder you’re accused of. She was vitriolic, just like the woman found
500 meters from the construction site in the file. Only this is information that has
never been disclosed, so it
automatically exonerates you. Are you serious? Very serious. Does that mean I’m
getting out of prison? I will speak to the judge and the prosecutor. Mrs. Nancy And it’s
not easy to stop. The only way to stop him
is for me to call the real killer. It’s disgusting. You just told me that you
are convinced of my innocence. Not convinced, certainly. So you can’t get me out of here. Of course I’ll get you out of there. Just you have to be patient
a little, that’s all. Do n’t worry,
I’ll arrange for you to stay here. Let us treat you like a VIP. And
please, stop your bullshit. Wait, are you okay?
I’m not a masochist. I want to live.
Alright. That’s a great answer. Okay, I know the food isn’t great, but
make a little effort, eh? To stay healthy, honestly, do
you look like you’ve been buried? You’re the one who just
dug me up, Commissioner. Thank you. Yes, come in. A commissioner.
Go ahead, come in! I was waiting for you. I’m doing this again and I’m having a hard time doing
without your guidance right now. You are welcome.
So tell me where your investigation is at? Okay, I’ll try
to keep it short. So, Act One the assassination
of Beatrice Lenormand. Same modus operandi as Brownie who cuts out the bra
and panties. Unlike before, here
he doesn’t rape her. On the other hand, he attacks the body. 17 stab wounds, we agree?
All right. We’ll call this
the new signature of murder. Absolutely. Act Two Eight months ago,
another murder on a vacant lot. It is attributed to Pierre Maury. There, the serial uses its
own way of operating. Raw violence. Nothing sexual, but still
the famous 17 stab wounds. And no more reference
to brownie, which. Which is quite logical since at that
point Nevsky had already been arrested. What is less so is that he reoffends. The very day I reopened the investigation
into the murder of Béatrice Lenormand. Which brings us naturally to act three and
last night’s victim. As. As if he wanted to provoke me. But I think that’s
actually what he wants to do. The process is classic. He wants to establish a kind of cat and mouse game between him and you,
to see who of you two will be the strongest. Yes. In any case, to be aware of all these facts,
the guy is still pretty well informed. Hmm. Here, professor, I’ll give you. Brought the autopsy report
if you want to take a look. No rape. 17 stab wounds,
face covered in vitriol. Exactly like the victim dying. Excuse me, professor. You can repeat what
you just told me. But I said exactly
like Morris’s victim. 17 stab wounds. And. And what? And the face covered in vitriol. How do you know
Morris’s victim was found? But I don’t know, it was a report. No, it was never
recorded in any report. No one outside
the Justice Department knows. So I don’t know, it’s you who.
You told me so. It’s me who has nothing at all. I never told you that Morris
used vitriol for the simple reason that I only
found out about it yesterday after 12 noon. On the other hand, you knew this detail. I made the link to you
while reading this report. Excuse me, but you’re going to
have to follow me to 36. Are you aware
of Professor Laroche’s notoriety? Perfectly, Mr. Director. And you’re still considering
taking him into custody? But I’m considering it.
No, it’s already done. Just like that, based on a slip of the tongue. Be careful, old man, contrary
to what people say, ridicule kills. And the officials he attacks end up
in Wallis and Futuna in no time. You don’t know yet?
Very rainy there? Three meters of water per year. Very bad for rheumatism. On the other hand, you
seem to know it well. Are you thinking about it on vacation or what? So, Fruitful boss? Hold on, Charlotte! What is this? It’s a little early, Mr. Director. We found it in his
garden shed, not even hidden. And what a garden! That of the rock in its pavilion. Are you delusional or what? Oh no, no, we’re coming from the lab. They took a sample, there is no doubt, it is indeed
the blood of the young woman from last night. Good. Good. Good.
Good. Bad news
for your teachers? Will we find it at your place? What did you kill the pig with? We did some analysis. It is indeed the blood of the victims. Yes. Well, what you’re saying is absurd. This is completely stupid. If I were the killer, I would
never have kept the murder weapon in my house. You said it, Professor.
The truth is, you were miles away from imagining
that you could be suspected. And if, by an unfortunate slip of the tongue, your unconscious had not spoken,
you would be there, calmly, discussing the
twisted psychology of serial killers? No ? It must be said that devoting one
‘s life to this kind of thing. Sick, in the long run, it must end up
going to your head, right? Please do me a favor,
save your cheap psychology for the morons who
usually scroll here. You are completely
off the mark. You don’t become a serial
killer for that kind of reason. Believe me, they are always much
deeper. For that, I trust you
, professor. I know you know a lot about it. You are very knowledgeable and we
are very stupid. But here it is. You were the one who talked about vitriol. So all of this is you. You’ll have to explain. How do you want me to explain myself? I don’t know where I was caught. Moore’s victim had been
the one to be vitriolic, but there must be an explanation, that’s for sure,
and it’s up to you to give it to us. I repeat, I don’t know. This is unfortunate. This is very unfortunate. I’m going to have to ask Leon to put your head back in your cell,
help you regain your memory, eh? Come on, come on! Here you are.
Take him to the garden? And when the worst comes,
he’s not ready. Do you want me to tell you, Leon? I’m not sure we
‘re right. Hmm. This story about a knife that you find like that in your garden shed,
I find it a bit too much. I don’t know why I. I don’t see the rock being sabotaged like that. No, so it’s sincere, right? You won’t be
impressed by his presence? This guy is a manipulator. A mandarin, a regular at bowing and scraping.
Everyone admires him. He lost his cool, he thought he was
the master of the world. Well, my little Léon, I’m past the age
of letting myself be impressed, you see? No. Imagine that the rock is not involved and that we are dealing
with a guy who is leading us on. A pervert. Who is following us. And who enjoys placing
decoys in our path. So what? And then, it’s you
who lacks insight. I’m not saying I’m right, eh. But if we agree to follow this path,
it all begins with Brezinski. Initially, it was his modus operandi that was imitated,
and from what we know about serial copiers, they are often deranged individuals
who shared the same cell as their model and who repeat
their crime once outside. You see? So if you’re not too upset by what you
just learned, Leon, I think it would be necessary
to go for a little health check. Come on, I’m not going to eat you. What do you want from me? I thought you
had the TV in jail. Do you never watch the news? I don’t care about the news. I guess you didn’t come to see me to give me a press review
. Swing quickly, I have my workout to do. From the bichon to your pecs
a little later. I have a big problem to solve and I’m naive enough to think
that you might be able to help me. I would be surprised. Sit down. Apparently, it seems that you
have inspired some vocations, Wronski. Listen to me carefully. There’s a guy who’s massacring
young women in Paris. Not really the tent type, you know. Vitriol and
stabbings galore. What does this have to do with me? The first one he killed was
called Beatrice Lenormand. Does that ring a bell?
No ? And then, my lawyer told you, it couldn’t have been me,
I was in the hospital. What are you
bothering me with your bullshit? Do you think I didn’t take enough? Oh, come on, don’t get upset, I’m
not here to re-trial you. Am I trying
to make you understand? It’s because whoever killed little
Lenormand did it by copying your own actions and is trying to
blame you. You can understand that, right? That means he’s a big asshole. I agree with you,
but that’s what you said. What I know
is that the guys who engage in this kind of scam
are generally not complete strangers. I even have guys
that we’ve seen often. So you’re going to try
to rack your brains. Take the ski and remember
who you told about your urges. What do I gain? Nothing. It’s just a problem
between you and your conscience. Now, if you know
something and you hide it. So your trial will have been for nothing. Everything is forgiven, this is a sham. It’s always the same
crazy person ready to start again. Instead of commissioner. It’s not easy, but I’m being treated here. Never. I will never do it again. Fucking shot.
Help me. Shit !
But what do you believe? I told
everyone about my problems. This kind of thing is debated in public. In public, right? We came here. It’s small, a cell for chatting. It’s conducive to confidences. There’s only one guy. Who I spoke to about it. It was in bloom six years ago. I had killed again.
Person. I already knew
who was opening my head. The kid was a junkie. You’re completely devastated. Listen. He didn’t react. It felt good. I feel like that. That would chase his ideas from my head. What was the name of
this providential friend? Cash. François Mallet. One on top of the other. Do
you hear me, boss? Five out of five.
Charlotte C. Leon to you!
I am doing the research. On my letter.
He got out of jail three years ago. Since then, no convictions. He adopted Charlotte. Yes, but it dates from its release.
It’s not certain. Are you connected?
Yes, go ahead, I’m listening. Can I make
legal holes in Les Lilas? Fifth floor, door six. I take the elevator. One. Yeah, yeah, I’m coming, I’m coming. Uh yeah, but it’s not going well.
What are you? Want. For a guy who has nothing to reproach himself for?
Where were you? I was working last night. It is forbidden.
Come over here. Come on, I’ll see a lawyer. I have the right. You’ll see your slobber when you
tell us about your friend Brodsky. Who is that? It’s good to brush your fangs,
but you have to think about your ears too. Are you sick?
I don’t know this guy. It’s a.
Nice boy. Stop taking us for fools. Did you spend a year in jail with him? So if you have to. Refreshing my memory, you can’t
please me more, it’s my specialty. Ha ha! Wait there, I think he
died on the person. It’s not me you want to see,
it’s my brother. What is this mess? What’s your name?
Ludovic Malet I can prove it to you. Oh, but calm down, Tarzan! It’s just my papers. I couldn’t make a mistake. Here. Ludovic Mallet. Where is your brother?
Down ? Go take a look. Division four.
Cramped. He died of an overdose
a year and a half ago. I simply took over his apartment. It is.
What’s going on? He wasn’t at home.
The Evil One died 18 months ago. We were dealing with his brother.
Where is it going? Shall I draw you a picture? There was no mistake. Don’t talk about things
that upset you, will you? Okay, it’s okay Leon, but it’s just humor. The atmosphere. Jean Paul.
Jean Paul. Yeah, I have the same one for you. Me, it is. The police are still as bad as ever. You are pathetic,
Commissioner, you are floundering! Abyssa Abyssa, lawyer,
perpetuated Rei memoriam. Try to bring one. Hamlet, but he dropped off at the orderly
about an hour ago. The guy must have given him the coin
to do the errand. We’ll never find him again.
What does the Latin thing mean? I don’t know anything about it.
I studied modern languages. And you, Charlotte, do
you know Latin? No, it was optional. Well, what do I do? I bring it to the lab, you never know,
in case there are some paws. No, not that one, it’s the other one. The police are still as bad as ever. This guy has a score
to settle with the cops. Why are there always guys
who think we’re doing our job badly? You see it every day, right? It’s even a national sport. I’m sure the Gauls
were already complaining about their chicken. You’re losing weight there. I like it when you’re funny. Can you imagine guys slaughtering young women just to prove we
‘re losers, right? No, it’s something else. There was serious
trauma at the base. Look at me, please. I wanted to apologize, Professor,
but I have extenuating circumstances. Look what I just got. Are n’t you liked, Commissioner? Thank you for clarifying this for me, Professor. But what I would be interested in is if you could translate for me
what is written in Latin. You don’t read Latin? No, I don’t read Latin. Sorry. Kisses.
Kisses. Summoned the abyss. Calls the abyss. It is a figurative expression from a psalm of David that is used
to express that one fault leads to another, perpetuating Marie memoriam
to perpetuate the memory of the thing. It’s pretty crazy, right?
But who wrote that? I would rather lean towards a paranoid pervert who,
contrary to what you think, is not at all delusional,
very structured, on the contrary. Probably cultured since he knows Latin, but
who presents a real split in the self. To the point of referring
to a fault in one’s own faults. Translate these murders
would be the consequences. In
short, I would say that on one hand, he is
a man who hates the police to the point of provoking and humiliating them,
and on the other, an almost banal serial killer with his rituals, his way of operating,
his fantasies. I even go so far as to say a certain pride,
but to what end? AD perpetuum re memoriam
to perpetuate the memory of the thing. He doesn’t want us to forget, because he doesn’t forget and he wants to make
the police pay for the memory of it. But what a thing! He doesn’t say that. And could this thing
be murder? Why not ?
Yes. A murder of which our serial killer
would have been the indirect victim. That’s to say ? But in the hypothesis that you raise. It could be the murder of a loved one, or even a parent whose death
seemed unbearable to him. Unacceptable. An injustice of sorts.
Yes, that’s what I think. Yes. This would be a rather unusual reaction,
not to say totally heterodox. But this case is
so out of the ordinary. In any case, the solution is in the past
and certainly the distant past. Yes, it must be an indirect victim who reproduces the trauma she
suffered, as if to ward it off. You think that by launching a search for an old, or even very old, murder
of the same type as the one that concerns us, we could
trace the killers. But I think.
That this would be a good solution. But that doesn’t mean
it’s the only solution. That said, the signature of the crime
is relatively precise. I imagine this kind of research can’t be too complicated
for a cop like you. Thank you, Professor.
Madam Commissioner, I would like to go home and
if it makes you feel any better, I can promise you that I
won’t hold anyone up on the way. No problem. I’m up in 1 hour. You are free. Yeah, Dad. Yeah, that’s it. Well, for my job interview,
I got the answer. I start next Monday. Great ! Well, I’m joining you,
it seems to please you. And I’m really happy for you. But I’m a little
on edge here, you see. I don’t know, I’m not counting on you for my friend tonight
with my friends, is that it? No, it seems difficult to me. But tomorrow I’m the one
offering the champagne. Okay.
Yeah, that’s it. Always one step behind. Wait Marie, you’re not going to be mad at me if I’m on something that can’t
wait. You can still understand, right? But yes, I understand Dad.
I understand, I understand. Come on, I.
Kiss you. Hello! Pfff, it’s not my day.
Good. What is the boss program? Marie found a new job and
as usual, I’m not here to celebrate. So where are we? Well, that’s exactly what we
wanted to know. Oh yeah, okay, I just freed the rock.
We took stock. As a result, we
have to look for a murder that happened between ten, twenty and thirty years ago and that
resembles the ones we have on our hands. It’s not like it’s accurate. Stop complaining,
we have the night ahead of us to germinate. Yeah.
Sit down. Tell me Jean-Paul, another me of doubt, the mint I gave you for your
birthday, do you still have it? Oh well I want to. I even wear it at night,
I find your watch so beautiful. And you know how to tell the time.
But tell me. Sophie, what are these
brat questions? What do we do? No, it’s just that as you know,
my car is in the garage, we were supposed to have dinner together
tonight and you were supposed to pick me up exactly one hour
and 35 minutes ago. Oh shit.
I completely forgot. Excuse me.
I see that. THANKS.
I hope you have good reasons. Listen, we’ve got our heads in the bag, you know, we’re about to
catch the killer. By the way, on that note, if you could take a quick look
at the building’s archives, that would be great because they’re
probably less messy than ours. I dream. Not only am I deprived of dinner,
but you’re also requisitioning me. Well, yeah, you can still
do that for me, right? Okay, so what
exactly are you looking for? Okay. Well, listen, if I find
something, I’ll call you back. It’s dragging on.
It’s mission impossible. That’s right, boss. This computer system
dates back to Methuselah. You can’t even sort by name.
How ? Do you want us to get there?
Shit ! This crime must be recorded
somewhere, right? If it exists, eh? I remind you
that this is just a hypothesis. You have something
better to offer, huh? Well, neither do I. So keep going. Okay. Yeah, yeah, that’s me. I think I found it. I just sent you
the report to your email. Charlotte on my email. Yeah, so what does it say? It happened 22 years ago, in a warehouse in Aubervilliers,
at 7 Impasse des Lilas. An armed robbery gone wrong. The guard tried to defend herself. She was vitriolic
and stabbed several times. 17 shots exactly. It’s happened. Look at the end of the police report. The police found a seven- year-old boy hiding behind a bar counter
who saw nothing but heard everything. The victim was 29 years old, a certain. Monique, the brother, single mother of the child from
Herring, in the Dunkirk region. Damn, Frederick’s brother, Brother. I will be the best assistant. I love you. Come on, we’ll meet
at my place later. See you later. Guys! We have his address. Talk about it at Moulin Central in Moulins. The brother’s address has never changed. This is indeed the seventh Impasse
des Lilas in Aubervilliers. Central Receipt. Charlotte. The person. I don’t know the guy, but from the looks
of it, he’s pretty messed up. I can tell you that I, who met him , seem
completely normal, brother. Misleading.
Appearances. This guy is amazing. When I think that he lives there,
in the middle of his memories. Exactly where his mother was murdered. This is really unhealthy, guys. If you’re feeling a little thirsty,
I’ve got you covered. How about a little glass of vitriol? Sulfuric acid.
Concentrate. I think this bar is ready
to do it again somewhere in Paris. We’re standing here like idiots. TRUST me with your phone number, Leon. Professor Laroche.
This is Commissioner Bonin. Sorry to bother you, but I need you to give me
your assistant’s phone number. The brother?
No, I know. Yes.
No, but it’s urgent. I can’t explain it to you. Go ahead, I’m listening. John VI 43 twelve. 28 zero seven noted Thank you professor,
I will call you back later. Thank you very much. I contact the general staff. Now we just have to
pray it doesn’t go out. Yes, clearly yes. I would like the location
of a cell phone number 0643122807. Noted. Okay, they do the research. They call us back
directly on the radio. Come on, let’s get out of here. Yes, I’m coming. Yes, François. Where are you now? In ten minutes?
Okay. No, no, it’s not necessary. I’ll wait for you at the platform.
Okay. See you later. the general staff produces the general staff. I’m listening. We have located the cell phone
you provided to us. He requested the relay
of Issy Garde and Moulineaux. Yes, it is received.
Is this near your home? Yes. How many power plants?
We just lost the. Signal on the
Saint-Germain Island relay. This is right at my place.
Yes. It’s received.
THANKS. The Bible. Wait for the fault of the cop who
didn’t catch his mother’s murderer. I’m the one who wants to
make the bastard pay. I don’t understand anything. But there’s nothing to understand about Marie,
he’s going to attack her. Call her quickly! Married. She really is. Your dream is truly phenomenal. It’s true.
It’s not every day that we… Get a job in
merchandise, for sure. Come on, hurry up,
we’ve got something great for you! Wait two minutes.
Sophie Marie, how are you? With.
Where are you going like this? I found a new job.
I’m going to celebrate this. Awesome !
So happy for you! Three people and their cell phone. Here, take mine,
I memorized it on the three. You us.
Accompanied. That’s nice, but I
‘m a little tired. And then I have an appointment with your father. In case of force majeure. So my husband, get moving. I’m going. Good evening.
Good evening. Married.
Marie, this is Charlotte. Oh shit !
No, no. Marie, nothing serious.
I’ll explain to you. There’s Sophie going home. The brother.
You move. Don’t light his gun.
Put down your weapon. Lie down on the ground.
Lie down. Shit. Sophie, you have nothing. All your hands, all your hands. From the edge. Hi. He moves forward. That’s because the cops never
found your mother’s killer. Do you want so much? If you had lived what I lived. You would know how I feel. Be hate like me. Another one who will end up with the lunatics. In my family, it was life
that came looking for me. A seven-year-old boy who witnesses his mother’s murder
even though he saw nothing. How do you expect it
not to leave any traces? You just told yourself
you were too beautiful. That’s good.
Are you sure? I hate cops. I can understand your hatred for cops
. Except that for me, it’s a good
cop that you took it. Elvis, shut up! It was from last year. After training this girl. In the vacant lot. I killed. And then I quickly laughed. This is the first time. I was like crazy. I felt like I
owned his body. Opportunity made the thief. It was acting on something else. I have nightmares. Conjure away my nightmares. Well done !
You are more of a psychologist. For a cop, that’s rare. This is no nightmare, Commissioner. When my mother was murdered,
I heard her scream. She was there, a few meters away from me. I did nothing because
I couldn’t do anything. I didn’t want to see. I couldn’t. I can move. I create. I saw his face twist. I saw his eyes,
his hands crying. I was just a child. All. What I know about my mother’s pain. I made it up in my head. For years
I have been dwelling on these images. She kept coming back,
can’t you imagine what it’s like? That’s why I
became a criminologist. To understand, understand and. Trying to heal. But it’s rather the opposite effect. I tried to resist,
but it was stronger than me. To get closer to her,
I had to know how she died. And the best way to find out. It is to inflict the same death. Boss. I’ll be back. It’s strange. Hold on to a man like any other. THANKS. I’ll walk you back. Guardian.
Please leave us. How will it die? But it’s starting to get better. Take a look,
I think it will boost you. Is this your release from prison? The judge just signed it. Thank you, Commissioner. No, I did my job. I know it’s paltry compared to what you’ve been through, but I advise you
to seek damages. You will get them. I’ll leave you my
personal phone number. Please do not hesitate if you
need anything. Agency.
