Day 4 and 5 of bikepacking from Bonn, Germany to Bialystok in Poland.

Run book. You ready? [Music] Want to tell them what we’re doing? Cycle 141k past Michael and beyond. We were meant to leave at 8:00 and David is still not ready. What? I’m sorry I’m holding you back. It’s the story of my life, brother. I might go do some laps. I’m going to go warm up. [Music] Awesome. Legs still hurt. That’s good. Autofocus is Let’s go. [Music] This is day four. We are still on our way from Moon to Balisto. And it is the first flat day. We only have around 500 m elevation to do today. And we’re riding a bit further than last days. [Music] [Music] [Music] after a small mechanic. vehicle back on the road and eating another Corning. [Music] We have officially arrived in nowhere. How do you like nowhere?
It’s good. Yeah,
it’s good. There’s lots of it. Yeah, there’s a lot of nothing. And then on this side, there’s also a lot of nothing.
There’s 110ks of nothing. We’ve been on the same psychopath for quite a while. I think we’re going to stay on here for quite a while, too. At least from the looks of it. And we’re getting some showers in, but so far, no heavy rain. Fingers crossed. Actually, it’s a bit better than getting fried by the sun yesterday cuz uh today we’re quite exposed, I think, for most of the way. [Music] [Music] We’ve been riding on a bunch of state roads, which is good for our progress, but it’s also really unsocial because you can’t really ride next to each other with the cars coming by fast And you need to be a bit more alert. We are going to fry. The sun is intense. I wanted to stay here. It’s just too hot. This is the hottest day of four frogs so far. Did you ever get that feeling that you’d be like you just cycle so much faster if you’re wearing Oakley? No. We are close like 1 and 1/2 hours maybe to go and we should get some dinner because there’s none of the accommodation. The headwind turned into a tailwind but it is carrying this [Music] So, storm seems to be over. We have uh 20k left. So, we bought some stuff at the supermarket and cook a quick meal tonight. [Music] I don’t I don’t think this is a hotel anymore.
No. Good that we booked it though, huh?
It’s good, huh?
Yeah. Also, the windows, everything is everything looks off. I mean, it’s only the longest day of your trip. Why don’t Why don’t we find another hotel and suck a little further? I want to talk to some human before I go anywhere else here.
This place is like the Bates Motel. This is like Everything’s broken.
Everyone’s broken. And they have dinner for one and a half hours still till 8:00.
They have a situation. Just going to get on the bikes and try to get some dinner.
I think we’ll do this.
Luckily, the hotel is only 6K away. [Music] The hotel we found last night was such a lucky grab. Is that a word? Lucky grab. No. Lucky find.
Lucky find.
The guy already greeted us before we entered the hotel. Made sure we could store our bikes. Washed our kids. He had a bit of a mustaf wibe.
Grandpa the best hotel situation.
This is day five. Last day for Jackson. [Music] We’ve been making good progress and then we started to chat and went to default party pace, but it’s still looking good. [Music] Macrobiotic diet looks like.
Yeah. Only only healthy things.
Only healthy things. This and this essential. So we’ve came like what 65k. Yeah. Something like that.
And we pulled in here and as soon as we pulled in here it started raining. If you’re lucky. Yeah. They so confidently took a a breakfast or us. The shittest breakfast ever. What would you like for breakfast? We have the most processed So, where are we staying tonight? Monte. Some pronounce it Motel One. When you’re on the continent, you know, you pronounce it. So, the final little ride to Berlin. Yes. And then from there on to Poland. Poland. The guy yesterday.
You’re going to Poland? No engine. You’re crazy.
No engine.
Oh, I’m just very slow and I need to occupy myself. Huh?
What is this?
A gas station situation. [Music] We play Final Fantasy. Oh, it doesn’t move the pop. Hey, that’s sweet, man. You going to the gas station? I carried it from B.
Negotiating our way into the motel with the bicycles. We celebrated. We had between five and seven beers. We made it, brother. I was trying to get I was trying to get to you. Good. Good night. [Music]
