The longest day of the year is THE moment for every cyclist to push themselves to go the extra mile. Literally. When you have over 16 hours of daylight, how many kilometers can you rake up? I decided to cycle from the Newcastle to the other end of the the shoreline and back in an EPIC ride! Through a historic backyard of Roman-built walls, stunning views of the Lake District and the typical UK lanes, I pushed myself very hard!

Hey, hey, hey. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. Happy birthday. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Right. First hour done. Just passed a little village called Corbridgeidge. You might be able to hear it’s quite windy. First leg of the journey. It’s going to be a full-blown headwind. means we uh we get a nice tailwind on the way back. As you can see, sun’s coming out. Some beautiful pictures of a of a nice sunrise. Some clouds up ahead. So, I expect to be hit by a few showers on the ride, but hopefully should be few and far between. So yeah, just let’s crack on with this with this nice hatwind with this nice ride. First hour of many Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. We’re well into the second hour. Bloody windy now. So, as you can see, it’s sunny. But if I look over to my left, it’s where the area which I’ll cycle through when I get back through Lake District. You can see it’s still cloudy. So hopefully that will blow over and we have a nice day for it. Otherwise, ah, so apart from the tailwind that I get, might be a bit wet. Cracking on. Expect another 2 and 1/2 hours of this. Heat up here. We passed the 100 mile mark on the cycle path now to our final stretch to White Haven. Bit sheltered here with the wind. Struggle over the last two two hours. Yeah. Ready for some lunch and then make our way back. Nearly halfway there. All right. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Just left White Haven. dipped our wheel into the sea, made it to one end of the coast, and um now we’re going to make our way to the Lake District, one of the most beautiful places in the UK that is on a sunny day. The weather looks reasonable, so hopefully not we’re not getting showered on in the lake. And if not, should have some stunning stunning views. Um, that helps as well. Now we have the uh the winds in our back and we don’t have to battle against the headwind anymore. It’s going to be a breeze all the way back to Newcastle. So that’s going to help with some speed. Have some tailwind. Let’s go. Look at that beautiful lake district. really go away. I’m going really When I come to you, Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Oh. And now we’re on our way to to Penri. Taking a little side road and a cycle path to avoid the A69. 10 hours done. Heart side 9 kilometers. Longest climb of the day. Wind’s still nice for me. Legs are starting to feel empty. Three, four more climbs. Long ones though, but not too steep. It’s going to be a slow burner, but we’ll get home. 265, 110 km to go. Going to do this, baby.
