I was thinking about using p clamps to attach them to the bars.
The shifters don’t seem to be working at the moment there is no clicking sound or ratcheting so I guess I’ll have to open them up and give them a service. Can anyone recommend any resources where I can learn about servicing shifters or the manual for these?
I’m not too worried if I can’t get it to work but I’m keen to give it a go

Tbh I’ve had luck spraying the inside with brake cleaner to get the gunk out and then giving them a quick hit of pb blaster. You don’t have to take them all the way apart.
Not sure if the part number but the lever says ST-M071
Take the bottom cover off by taking the middle bolt and small screw out and pull the whole cartridge out and manually move the pawl and spray lube on it. As long as the spring is still in tact you should be able to revive them
For the service spraying degreaser or immersing in diluted degreaser and then actuating the levers will be your ticket to repairing and restoring clicks. Once free of debris/old lube use bike lubricant of choice to lube mechanism. I personally prefer tri-Flo or T9.
As for actual breakdown on the shifter I would advise against actually taking it apart but you can find an exploded view [here.](https://si.shimano.com/en/pdfs/ev/ST-M070_M071-1098/EV-ST-M070_M071-1098D.pdf) As well as service/install instructions [here.](https://si.shimano.com/en/pdfs/si/T-2A/SI-T-2A-000-00-ENG.pdf)
I used youtube to service my sti’s. It was basically knowing hoe to open then up, soaking in hot soapy water and blasting with wd-40 until the gunk comes loose. Worked great. Unfortunately one of the pawls on mine was broken, so it skips one gear.
If you have pfte spray the easiest way is to find a small opening and spray that inside. Wait 10 minutes. Do it again. Repeat one more time.
If that doesn’t work you have to open it and clean it .
