I've ridden 20,000km (12,500 miles) with a 2X grx di2 11-speed setup on a Jaegher. A few months ago the derailleur refused to shift up with the clutch ON. A few days ago, even with the clutch OFF, he refuses to shift up. I have read some posts and it seems that the motor is faulty, and there is little that can be done to fix this. When pushing a little bit while shifting, it still shifts. Also, without the wheel, it also shifts normal.
But the question, would you just change the derailleur with a new one. Or, are there good reasons to go, for example, for an ultegra derailleur (RD-R8050), presuming that it's possible to do that? I've used the bike with 2 wheelsets to ride gravel and road, but i liked it most as a road bike, and i also have a dedicated gravel bike for a year now, so i use it only as a road bike now.
Or, are there other possibilities? Time to upgrade some components?
I presume there is nothing possible for mixing the 11 speed grx shifters (i really like them) with new 12 speed derailleurs? But, can i use the shifters from a 12 speed ultegra to control my GRX front derailleur (FD-RX815). In that case, I can upgrade to a 12 speed system and keeping the crackset and front derailleur.
Shoot! 🙂

Shifters and derailleurs only work within the same speed system.
You could indeed get an ultegra 8050 or Dura ace 9150. Would make sense if you ride it only on the road.
PS. I have a small company in Di2 repairs and refurbished parts. If you’re interested send me a message. I’m based in The Netherlands/Belgium.
