Thinking about getting this Schwinn Sierra. Everything is original on it. I rode a large 31" stand over height and that one was REAL snug if you get my drift. This one is 28" standover so should give me some room.
I liked the feel when riding the bike. But the geometry of this bike but don't know enough about or the equipment on it to draw a conclusion. Some bikes have propertary components and such.
Any downsides I should know about?
Thank you in advance.

Nothing proprietary that I see, just parts standards you would expect of its time period like 1″ threaded steerer and 3×5 drivetrain. Sierra was an upper midrange bike in its day, I think this is a 1986.
Looks to be a pretty Standard Shimano group set. Old school shifter and brake levers, nothing on here seems amazingly special but if it fits you well this is the definition of “a bike”. That rear rack will be handy, and parts should all be pretty interchangeable with the next 30 odd years of bits and parts. What are they asking? If it’s not egregious it would be a fun grocery bike. That said, nowadays in most places for bikes like this a set of tires and tubes will cost you more than the frame, so it’s important you’re getting a functional bike at whatever price.
How much? I think it’s beautiful. That Sugino chainset ( big gear with the pedals) is worth good money. The rest of the chain components look like they’re Suntour which can be difficult to source parts for. Going off that picture, it looks like it’s barely been ridden so it shouldn’t be problem for quite a while.
I’d definitely buy that if the price is reasonable and I wouldn’t waste time thinking about it. Just buy it.
