Welcome to the new video and welcome to the channel if you are here for the very first time. And if you have no idea what I just said, use the English subtitles. So this time the name of the thing is Midnight Sun Gravel, an ultra cycling event. The start is from Helsinki and the finish is in Turku. There were 650 kilometers or 1000 kilometers to choose from. Someone may wonder how it is possible to travel 1000 kilometers from Helsinki to Turku. Well, this isn’t the straightest route. Here we meander through Sipoonkorpi, Nuuksio, Kemiƶnsaari and etc. Hanko. Then, finally, we will do the Loop, from Saaristonrengatie. As a comparison: the fastest route from Helsinki to Turku is probably about 180 kilometers. So we’re taking a bit of a detour. In my opinion, this event deserves even more visibility in Finland. And of course also outside the borders. I think the concept is great. Nightless night Finnish summer. Ultra long journey. That’s awesome. This also works for me as a very good practice for Norway at the end of the summer , where it will also be driven for 1000 kilometers, but with much steeper climbs. However, the bike setup will also be the same there in Norway. Or, of course, you can always check what works and what doesn’t, but for the most part, we’ll go with this setup. One of the coolest things you can do on a bike is ride overnight. And here you can practice it more than once. It has its own unique mystique. We’re still there, so somehow we bubble up there while others are sleeping, so we can ride the bike there ourselves. And of course when it’s an event and even if you’re riding alone. Maybe we’ll see each other at gas stations, restaurants, etc. That this is of course also a social event, even if you want to ride alone. Although this is not officially a competition, it is a challenge. But still here are GPS trackers and timing. In other words, the fastest is recorded, even though it’s mainly about adventure. Here’s everything I have with me. This is a self-supported job, which means you have to manage yourself. There is no maintenance. Of course, you can stay in accommodation if you want. But my accommodation can be found here. There is a bivy, bag, sleeping pad, sleeping bag of course, etc. In the front are all my changes of clothes that I have with me. There you can find a rain jacket, Velocio’s ultralight, which I will definitely wear for some time, maybe even at night. There’s a change of bibs, a change of riding shirt, then a merino tee for the night, merino wool socks, boxers. I guess that’s it. In the back you can find everything related to accommodation. That is, there you can find a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, a blanket, an inner sheet of the sleeping pad, a pillow and a towel. That’s it. In the middle, from the Top Tube bag. This is packed full of Never Second gels. Great appreciation and thanks for the support. This framebag contains mostly Never Second bars, basic hygiene systems, and hand sanitizer. A bag of sports drink is packed in there. Non-toxic sunscreen. Spare lamp. The lamp is such that if it comes on at night, then you won’t drive much. I had to think a bit about where I could actually attach the lamp. Fortunately, I have this Lumonite headlamp. I managed to rope it here under the pole bag with the strap of the headlamp. It’s there. Of course, it also works as a headlamp if needed in the camp. The bike is Canyon Grail CF SLX 8 AXS This video was made in cooperation with Midnight Sun Gravel, so the ticket has been received, but I would have signed up for this event anyway. In general, all the collaborations I do, I want to stand behind them one hundred percent. I first want to state that this is top-notch, and only then will we get down to business in terms of cooperation. I will also give Juha Rintaaho, aka Breastfield, one GoPro camera. If I can’t quite keep up with him, then Juha, you could also share the moods from the trip during this video. Olli, did we come to Ostrobothnia? Yeah, thanks for asking. Yeah, thanks for asking. Oh, thanks for asking. My body is running out, it feels like everything is falling apart. Welcome, this is Midnight Sun Gravel. Now we send to Helsinki and Uimastadion towards the start. Helsinki swimming stadium, June 14. There is an hour and ten minutes until departure. I can’t wait, the excitement has already turned into this enthusiasm. Really good feeling. The weather couldn’t be any better, when it’s absolutely perfect. Now it has promised really calm air. Plus, minus 20 degrees for all driving days. Good promise. Thank you very much for being here. This is the sixth Midnight Sun Gravel The starters are still coming in, so there is still half an hour to go. We are now ready to start. This is the “first day of summer” Actually, yes. It’s warm, the warmth is good, so thank you. That’s all it takes. Let’s have fun. Thanks. Last minute tips? Marmalade Warm air, butt fat. Linnola best. Your hands before meals. Or you just don’t meet people. Going to places to eat where no one is. Eat it like a dog. Yes. Children also eat it. Isn’t this a bit like childish pranks? Sunny weather, lots of water. That is, energy, belly fat and washing your hands. They probably go pretty far. When you mix them in that drinking bottle, it won’t be good, won’t it? Yeah yeah What feeling? Fine. A little tense maybe even. A lot of excitement. Is it tense or excited? Which is like… Maybe excited. That’s right. Vacationing with a bike Let’s put the first ticks on board then. Great gang. 44 people. Then let’s go. Glad you came to say hello! Moro. Then we left. As said. The tension has changed. To unintelligent enthusiasm. Super feeling. This is the best. This has been expected. This has been expected. The route still makes a good trip here in the capital region. First, let’s go a bit in the wrong direction to Siponkorve. Then from there we turn towards Nuuksio. So here we spend a good amount of time in the capital region before we get there. More towards the west. Helsinki Central Park. Good memories. Tosta has been upset many times to the right. Held beginner mountain biking courses and more. Greetings. Roll Outdoors and Tom Nylund and other partners. Then we saw the first Capricorn there. What have we come a couple of kilometers. Central park. Cheers! Keep the sauna on! The 650 km route diverged at the northern end of the central park. Now let’s head towards Siponkorpe. Everyone probably remembers what happened in the last video in Siponkorvi. Straight cut here. OTB could immediately catch this feeling, which is currently. Oh that. Oh oh oh. Bridge. Come on. It’s been a long time. I haven’t been here in a while. Yeah, there are a few guys who would correct it already. We have the names memorized. One thing to teach a child. These big life lessons. Scream in the tunnel! Could take the first bar from here. The hour has come. Let’s turn here in the direction of the National Park. There are apparently six guys at the top now. Then the first real Adventure section begins . Single track. Hike a bike segment. Isn’t this what Pekka is driving? Well, yes, I would ride down here on a mountain bike. Yeah! and we have a thousand and ten kilometers to go. One thousand and ten left. Loose boys. This is where summer sweat starts to flow little by little. Trail running event. Midnight sun gravel run. Oh, oh, oh. Now it’s bad. 40 mm tires. A little bit started to make a noise from that saddle that is not good. What? Not good. Now, hey… Got a stomach bug? Not just from Satula. Physically from the Saddle without any imagery. Yeah. That’s right… I just caught it when I picked it up. Shouldn’t have. There is no spare saddle included. 999 kilometers to go. Top five here. We’ve been printed at breakneck speed. The first 80 kilometers. Average speed 26. Taking into account pushing in the forest, etc. Very fast pace. I predict that I won’t be able to keep up with the speed of this top. That’s how crazy it is. Okay, I’m rambling. And you will definitely catch it. So it’s hot here. Aijai, now on the verge of cramp. Last year’s fastest guy is driving ahead. Huh huh. It’s brutal. Then we’ll be in Luuk. Old cries, almost. Cramps. Cramps. Oh ***. Cramp, cramp, cramp. Oh ***. Oh ***. Greetings to the route master. There was such a cramp hill. Easy to get started. I predict that the top four will go away now. And Nuuskamuikkunen, aka Peksi, drags the rest of the way alone. But you never know what will happen. As long as you can get out of this hill hell in Nuuksi. Route with a two-tonner. Route two thousand. There is also a very old video of this on the channel. Quite a tough start to this trip with these climbs. From Morje. Thank you, dear husband, for allowing me to steal six Karelian pies from Hima. These are three Karelian pies, not any rice pies. It will come in handy now. The two-tonne route serves again. Pretty rough. A sickly sweet route. “The wheel in the back” Here, pretty much all the hills of Uusimaa have been covered in this beginning. Whoah, whoah, whoah. Crazy. 140 kilometers 1700 meters of ascent. Oh, just kidding, it’s been a long time since I last drove here. It’s pretty, but it’s tough, it’s tough too. From Morje. From Morje. Oh, there is a cycle. It’s a cycle, yeah. Pretty warm. Oh kid, what a day. Can I take a picture? You can take it. Yes, thank you. Nice looking banana now. It’s a bit slow moving, but it looks great. Saunalahti, aka Bastulahti, aka Bastu Bay. Eco runs came here 5 years ago when this bike fly started biting a little more actively then. There it goes. Oh, the joke gave me chills and it’s good that a drop didn’t get on the lens. So I just saw a moose. A deer ran right in front of me. I have ridden thousands of kilometers by bike in Finland. I’ve never seen a deer so close! Many times by car , unfortunately, but I was here for the first time on a bike and I went right from the front. A huge male moose. Damn, that’s cool. Moose at 176 kilometers. It feels like this Midnight Sun gravel has only just begun. We got out of Helsinki and Espoo and here right in the middle of the forest. Immediately, a moose flies past right in front of his nose. Oh that. This is the first time we can access social media. Jes. Now. Pekka Lintusaari, today you have been officially initiated as a gravel cyclist after all these years. The last tick was ‘someport’. Pizza eaten at Kirkkonummi City Market’s home pizza. Really idyllic. (lol) Very suitable for this event. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any footage from that location because I had to charge both my phone and camera there. Nine hours had been driven, so it was time to take the first meal break. Just under 200 kilometers on the odometer. Let’s hold another one after the next two hundred. Familiar clip Nordic Gravel Series Espoo Primavera 2024. Check out the video. Wonderful. Nice. Yes, thanks for the question. Here, 203 kilometers have come and. Here we go with Olli and here we have an Estonian and an American with us . It’s been a bit warm already to drive, but maybe it will cool down. Nothing but pleasure forward. So here we are on the open hill track. It feels really good here after 220 kilometers like this. How is it going? Thanks for the question. It’s great gravel. And then it continues. Sandviken beach. I would love to stay on it right away. But no. We’re already working on it. Then we’ll be in Inkoo. Let’s get over it. There are no trade needs at this point. So let’s move on. 242 driven. 823 left. And about that. White-tailed deer. To the list of the day. The sun is slowly starting to set. So that only means one thing. Welcome to the night train. Much better feeling to drive. When it’s a bit cool. We drive all night. Nothing. Now let’s drive. Well, how’s Olli doing? Thanks for the question. Very well. Let’s take this little excursion phase on. I don’t really care about the fading sunset in that cauldron. We’ve really gone off the deep end here. And let’s lead for the time being. Now you have to enjoy this while you still can. Now the last kilometers have been driven on this decent forest truck… Here are such decent ruts left from these forest machines. It’s not nice. It’s a little darker. It’s been dark for a long time now. It would be nice now at night time. Click something on the side of the field. But now we have gone into the forest. Nothing else to report here. Now there are legs and.. Shoe covers installed. In a nice place. It’s cold here. We are at Fiskars, we have driven 334 kilometers. It’s 2:42 am. It’s a great place. I recommend everyone to come here. Even on a day trip. It would be great mountain biking routes. There the moon rumbles and a fool runs on the road. The sun rises from there. 60 You should still be able to go to Hanko. Three o’clock. Here I bivy up and sleep for a couple of hours. Now it’s time limit. It won’t go another kilometer. It certainly won’t. Would this be a better place though? It would be. That bivy. Good morning Finland. Good morning Hanko. It’s been two hours of sleep here. Sweet man. Now to Hanko (center), safkaa. I was thinking of going to take a shower, there is a paid shower. Get some clean clothes on. The rest of the bathroom chores. The work continues. Let’s see what comes of this. I was pretty close to dropping out at night. We were in pretty deep water. In really deep water. Let’s disappear. Let’s send for palpation. Not giving up just yet. Thank you for asking. Here we are in Hanko. Grill in the yard. We’ve been behind the grill last night. Staying in Puska. At least Ollia slept well. Yeah, thanks for asking. We slept really well. Now here is this breakfast moment. I made this picnic table. Sausages and crackers are served for breakfast. It doesn’t get much better than that. Yeah, now a good breakfast is coming. Let’s drive and enjoy a nice summer day again. Maybe it’s a bit weaker now than yesterday. And it’s not a hard leg today. Yeah, let’s hope so. And see you again in 100 kilometers. The first hot day of the summer just happened yesterday. Not at all used to those hot weathers. And then, on top of all that, I grinded it out with the top group. Its first 80-100 kilometers. You know how it turned out. In a way, it was good to get a lot of speed in the beginning. But then the gauges started showing too much red. Well, that’s what I was worried about. It took 36 minutes to dismantle the camp. I’ve always been a bit slow in the hustle and bustle. But now, considering the circumstances, I’m satisfied with the performance. We are in Hanko. It’s pretty. Visited Hanko Marina. In the toilet and shower. Now some more pizza from here when it opens in a couple of minutes. Let’s get lunch taken care of at the same time. Same recipe as yesterday. Homemade pizza with no chicken fillings. It is applied to the face and then pressed for a long day. Even though I have good energy here, nothing can beat Karelian pie Exemplary action was waiting for the driver on that hill. I showed a sign that no one was coming. I just passed by then. Just like this. One and a half meters. Yes, this route is trying. It made me smile when a friend put it on whatsapp. “What’s my target time?” “25 kilometers per hour would be 40 hours.” “Are you okay?” It’s quite a lot more than the same nice road without bags. When you can consider the same to the level of a person from our country, on a journey of a thousand kilometers. For a change, coated rises. The heat starts to be seen and felt again. Now there is a route from there through the yard and here. Now is randomness maximus. It was a bit difficult to find this. It feels like my legs are pretty sore from yesterday and this morning. The thousand and three hundred uphill of the route. A little motivation. Stop here. Water and something. Thank you for asking. 500 kilometers full. It’s pretty warm here. It’s probably 30 degrees here. An Estonian passed us at night when we had the pillow a little too well. But this is the right tactic for us. It’s much more comfortable to drive when you’re asleep. It’s like being on vacation. Or what Olli? Sorry what? That or what? Thanks for the question. What’s up? Yes, it’s all about vacation. This is the traditional Ostrobothnia and Kainuu active holiday. It’s just like that. Let’s ride the bike for three days and maybe do something else at the finish line. But that’s not it, so we continue our journey towards Taalintehda. You can probably go eat there and do a bit of cleaning and that’s it. I guess this is where it starts. This voice is starting to get a little lost after being sick for the last week. Can drive just fine. To KimiStƶ. That gravel road. Thanks. That’s what we dig too. Oh oh oh That’s how it should be. Now it’s like the last one. Jes. Now there are definitely some of the most beautiful places on the route. So far on the island of Kemiƶ. The sea is there on the left. Prime. A rough gravel road. Not much gravel is visible. Even though there are ups and downs, it doesn’t hurt at all to go up in the same way. It’s wonderful. Really wonderful. Jes. To Taalintehta to safka next. 25 kilometers there. Here’s a little distance update from Taalintehta. We found a really nice place. And Olli has a great time here. Hi. Really, who wouldn’t feel comfortable here in the more island-like places. Food is waiting at the table and there is always time for a small beer. Yes, it is. We’re on vacation. On an active holiday from Kainuu-Pohlia. It’s a pretty nice summer here and there are sailboats. And here there are two, not actually three rickety wheels. One didn’t want to ride with us. Maybe then he knew a better run. But we start eating from here and then continue again. Yes, the pizza was eaten at Taalintehta. The third of the trip. I have a good recipe for this. Stomach stays well in shape. I just pull a Never Second bar, gel and sports drink powder. Which, by the way, is really sickly good, it’s unseasoned. And lots of rice cakes and pizza. That’s it. There we go. Oh oh now it is. Oh yeah. Yes. Let’s crown. I saw the spot on this route overwhelmingly. That’s great. It’s really wonderful. I’ve said before that when the route goes near a body of water. Ours has been sold at that point. The evening sun from there. Still figuring it out. Yes, hello again and thanks for the question. Here we are leaving Kemiƶsaari. I make sure the GoPro doesn’t fall. Here, so to speak, the socks are on. That’s what driving with socks looks like. My feet hurt so much that I have to take off my shoes. Yes, this is how you drive hills. It’s going just fine. Olli has tried the same thing. Now we have to stop so the camera doesn’t fall into the sea. If you have ever wondered where the old stones in the sauna stove go when they are replaced with new ones. They are brought here. All the world’s sauna stones have been brought here. And Bastu and Pasila. Fortunately, there is strength to laugh now. It wasn’t yesterday. It was a sweet night there. On the rock. The little rock climbing has been done again. We are on the same routes again. It’s half past eleven in the evening. When you think that you were still like that, there’s a lot to drive. TƤmmƶset Kohat is always the same. Little. Not terribly motivating. Yes, they always decrease from there one kilometer at a time, however. But these super slow parts. And when you still know that the day is only half over. It’s a bit like that. Let’s climb from there through the rock. Good horse. Bye bye. Yeah, yeah. Night train setup put on. Then we’re going to press on for two more kilometers. Olli, did we just come to Ostrobothnia? That’s how it looks to me. The scenery doesn’t differ much. Just like last year actually. Exactly the same is shown here. Maybe not quite as cute, but almost. True. Here, of course, since he has already watched a bit on this trip. Now I start to think and see delusions, but yes, this is really like this. You’ve been driving for so long that you could already be in Ostrobothnia. Yes, with these kilometers we would already be in North Ostrobothnia. But it’s not even in Turku yet. We just came from there. A real jungle of cow shit. We should continue somewhere there then. Good morning. It’s Monday morning here. It’s hard to say now if day number two will continue. Because I haven’t slept. Basically, however, day number three is underway. I haven’t slept tonight. We’ll see if I sleep at all or only there on the ferry. I try to drive as far as possible. Maybe all the way to Kustavi. Or maybe a half-hour nap somewhere. I’ve picked up the pace a bit now. The night drive was really slow to drive. Otherwise, driving at night is quite slow. I was a bit cold again. That also contributed to the fact that you didn’t really get speed. I’m trying to keep a bit faster pace now. If today could be done a little better. The most important adjustments yet. I basically had all my clothes on at night. The nights have been really cold here. I knelt down. The other knee has a helmet cap. The other has a neck puff as thigh warmers. I still bought those kalsars. Those knee lengths. Which ones on the bips. They warm up too. A little bit of all kinds of tuning. A few pretty special places in the evening and at night. Without reading. There has been quite a lot of nice, ‘normal’ driving. There has been a bit of a paved transition as well. Which has been really nice for a change. 210 kilometers to Kustav’s ferry. Now 690 have been driven. The second day’s kilometers are 300. Since I left Hanko. 15 hours have passed. So, as a quick recap. If all goes well. I’ve probably been there for 4-6 times with breaks. I would guess at 4-5 there on Kustavi’s ferry. It means that I could still progress even there on the ring road of the archipelago. Then the ferry that leaves for the mainland would be ready as close as possible to the fault. 706 kilometers of Midnight Sun Gravel ridden. Today has been a good day since that morning. As soon as the weather warmed up enough that it wasn’t cold anymore. Even now it’s a bit nice and cool, but not cold anymore. This is absolutely the most optimal driving weather for me. Does it have a route tree? One suggestion. 12-15 pluses. I like it myself. Thick oxygenated, fresh air. I hope the sun doesn’t shine too much now. Able to maintain such a good and fast pace. Of course, today’s roads have also made it possible to drive a little harder. It’s much harder to look at this odometer when it’s moving in a certain direction. For example, last night it felt like it wasn’t going anywhere. If you have to push the same 15 kilometers per hour, then it doesn’t really work. The feeling is really good. The bike is running. Now I very purposefully follow that speed and try to keep it. All the time at such a fast pace. Ajaijai. Field edge. This chirping of birds here in the field is amazing. The last ones are already being taken away. I’m starting to run out of this stuff too. (sports drink) We’ve been awake for that long now. That’s the two hours of sleep in between. Now let’s take a small powernap. Keep that big head alive somehow. I would have been able to continue without those sleeps, but now I have to take into account that I have been in traffic for 53 hours (when I left home) with two hours of sleep. Now, however, the security side has to remember that we are not going to play with these things now. It’s not about that 20 or 30 minutes. Or if it is, then it is. But let’s go to health.. Well, you can’t say that we’re going to put health first, because that’s not necessarily what we do here . We’re going with limits here, of course, but you know what I mean. The body was given such a small rest break. It was pretty good. It probably took half a minute to fall asleep. And then the alarm clock rang in 20 minutes. Now we are in Rusko. There are these nice sand pits, swimming beaches here. The cyclist’s carcass finds itself at Raisio’s McDonalds, i.e. MƤkinen Leipomo. And here are the used bikes in the park. Then we’ll see what Olli is ordering from there. I was thinking of having breakfast here. I really craved the same things, which was a bacon chicken egg bun and a big bear. The disappointment was hard. You can only get that bun, no bear. Aren’t we going to see a bear somewhere? I doubt that the bear will growl during this day. 800 kilometers. I don’t know why I’m crying, Joo. Yep Yep. Now, when you’re fussing over there on the couch at home, the boy seems to have a little emotion on the surface when he hasn’t slept. Yeah, that’s probably part of it. But the most important thing is to realize the numbers you see on the meter. That what is happening here. To be honest, I’m really proud of myself. That I’ve gotten to such numbers. I emphasize that there is no need to do things like I do. You don’t have to take this as the kind of extreme tickling that I’ve been doing here. Absolutely not. It’s just been my thing here. My kind of experiment. So I’m just speechless myself in front of those numbers. That’s what this emotional outburst is all about. There is always someone slower and there is always someone faster. Someone does things differently, we do everything. We get pleasure from doing something different. I get great pleasure from what I have done here. During this video. Although it hasn’t always seemed that way. And it hasn’t been. But overall, all this preparation. etc. Then these successes. Yes, these bring me great pleasure. Greetings from Naantali. Port of Naantali. I used to play records as a DJ Way back. I thought voluntarily, since there haven’t been too many climbs on this route yet. Take this small one. Towards Kustav. The rear derailleur ran out of battery right at the bus stop. Quite appropriately. There’s a new battery already in place. And here we go again. Well huhhuh, who was in charge here. What is this place. We are here in Mietoiinen, going to the ferry towards Kustavi. YouTube channel familiar. Jape, i.e. JapenpyƶrƤjuttu. Came here to say hello by the side of the road. A very, very nice and warm feeling came here. The channel is followed -> JapenpyƶrƤjuttu. Here, when you open your mouth, you notice that there is no terribly reasonable content coming out of it at the moment. It’s slowly here, it’s getting on the odometer. There would still be 60 km left to get there. Let’s press there. This is exactly the kind of roadbed that belongs to cycling routes. That’s about it. Thanks for the question. It wipes well here. We just got on the first ferry from this direction to Kustavii, we set off towards the south. It seems that the competitors have been left behind. The two moments of exclusion are above. But we set out to make our own performance like this, and we got something like that. There really isn’t much else to say here. I’m fine, fine. Yes, the performance was my own and now I probably have 900 km in my pocket. Let’s figure out how to move forward from here. It’s nice to be on board the ship for a bit, then the journey goes forward and you don’t have to pedal at all. Yeah, thanks for the question. Now we really only have this 900 km on the board. The next castle leaves in an hour and a half, so this was a good break. There’s such a bull pulling here that it saved half an hour of time when we were firing at full blast between one of the castles. Now we have plenty of time to sleep. The rest of the journey is going really smoothly here. That of the same. It’s great here. Now I want to look at the scenery a bit. Here you can see the remains of the cyclist after 1000 km and soon we will be at the finish line. I bought all kinds and of course at this point you can eat bounty ice cream because the size is good. In other words, we will be sent from that Parainen 24h S-market to go and try to drive carefully, then we will reach the finish line. Come on Peksi. I have actually driven 900 km in total. And today, or today, yesterday, the closest I drove was 500 km ago. With those one 20-minute naps. Well, there would indeed be a ferry from here to Iniƶ, but nothing goes from there today. Now let’s just say that it might be that I sneak into a hotel room in the port of Kutavi, because if someone there agrees, then I will do it. Yeah, good. Thanks. Good morning, new business. There will be a ferry. We are in Kustavi. And hey, I was there a couple of minutes away in the same place, well, they sold themselves by the name of the hotel, but maybe not quite the Beach Hotel, but what was this. Such a little cabin, I don’t think I took any video of it, but here is a photo of it from the porch. A modest little cabin, you got decent food there yesterday and the day before. Sai sleeps well between the sheets, really came in handy. Expensive, but worth it. Now let’s send the island tower ring road tyktiltelte here. If I can still pedal hard enough with these legs, that about a couple of other riders stay behind me. It’s not a competition, but we ‘need’ to compete a bit now. Now, of course, I have to be a little sad that I was here at the ferry port quite quickly . Now this adds 12 hours to my total time just because there are no ferries. But that’s part of the game, I guess that’s how we go in this particular event. Okay. Picnic time. Cheers. We are waiting for the ferry here. Next. I have had a very disciplined and purposeful diet on this trip. I haven’t drunk any lemonade, eaten any junk food, drank any coffee. I didn’t want to take any risks that there would be any stomach problems on this trip. Now I’ve gone crazy and really took yogurt, oat juggee. By the way, it tasted heavenly. Now we are here in Iniƶ. We are waiting for the 11.15 ferry and the guy is drying clothes on it. Now you can see what the day is like today. Are we still going to start competing for positions 5, 6 and 7 or are we going to cross the finish line at the same time. There are indeed pains in the left knee that have never been there before. That’s not a very good sign. I had to take some painkillers. But if the level of pain stays like this, you will be able to pull even harder until the finish line. Let’s hope. Next in order is the fourth ferry out of these eight. Right. The guy took off unexpectedly. Trying to catch the earlier ferry. I’ll follow! There it goes, then. We were a minute late. By the minute. We were a minute late. That knee is really weird. I was just able to sprint at full speed even at the end. So we pulled over, he took off and I followed. I caught up. And indeed we missed the ferry. Not in a minute, but in half a minute. Oh yeah. The knee didn’t hurt. Now again. When it was in place, now it hurts. But we’ll see. It’s challenging this weather when sometimes it’s really hot and sometimes it’s cold. It’s cold now, for example. Must drive to warm up. Nicely prioritized again for cyclists. I got out just fine, but then I really lost my way to a construction site somewhere . We’ll try again soon. This is big. A bridge coming to Parais, it seems. Old men. So many memories. Across the theater bridge. Gotta take it a little slower. However, there are other people here. Turku sightseeing. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that. I drove into a dead end. (construction site again) It’s about that investment. Ruissalo beach road. Rantaboulevardi I can’t take it any more. Got it, buddy. It’s not possible. And it’s a bit embarrassing to drive at race pace here when there are people. True. Now let’s go a little more calmly. Yeah. This wasn’t a competition. Sixth place is quite good. Yes, thanks for asking. Here we are at the hotel now and it’s a quarter to three the day after arrival. I probably had to shoot something yesterday, but I was so tired that I forgot everything else. What are we in the mood for right now? Mainly the thoughts that if we had to continue with this even another Mokoma thousand, it could be tight. You were determined to say that you at least pretty much ran out of body. Everything just falls apart. Achilles tendons started to be broken, knees were broken, toes were broken, shoulders were broken and so on. Yes, that machine just lasted. It was nice and nothing has bothered me the whole time. Everyone else should go too. Yes, I can recommend this to all interested incitement fanatics . This is such a low-threshold event, but of course there is a high threshold here to get through. You have to drive properly here. It’s much tougher than the route profile might seem. Nothing will be wasted. But that thousand kilometers have now been driven for the first time ever. You never know another time. We will be sent here to eat and then probably home. Thanks! Footage by Davide Lamparelli What was the winning time? 57 hours? Oh, the dirty table. In time 81 hours 58 minutes. It’s the total time. Which was sixth place this time. You have to pat yourself on the back that you had a faster time than last year’s fastest time. Pretty tough. The hard going was fast. Those guys were driving fast. But I don’t care about such speeds. It was incredibly great to find out today that after all this. After driving a thousand kilometers, I had the strength to race with a friend. We drove there from Parais at full speed. I don’t know where that energy came from. It’s really great to notice that development has come here. It’s hard to say what makes sense at this point. There is so much to say. But I’ve already said a lot along the way. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event. Thank you very much. I have received dozens and dozens of congratulations messages on Instagram. Unbelievably great. It’s a good mood here. It’s been cool to see. Many participants from abroad. It’s a good feeling here. As I said, the first part of 400 kilometers was really tough. But after that it started to get nice. It was funny how today’s event had a completely different character. He had pushed himself to the limit for two days. Today we went on the ferries on that archipelago ring road. Not counting that one sprint in Nauvo. Quite a leisurely pace. We also got to enjoy the archipelago and the scenery. So on. Thanks to all fellow riders. Thank you for watching the video this far. Thank you Davide for organizing! When you have cycled 1067 kilometers. You finally reach the finish line next to the Ruissalo spa. And here is the shower. Here is our shower and sauna. Before jumping into a taxi and then taking the train home. It’s nice to hustle. It still needs to be added to that end. It’s all the same. Rank fifth, sixth. In the end, it doesn’t matter at all. It matters. I received dozens of such messages. to Instagram. During that drive. It matters that I surpassed myself so much. What I would never have believed. 400 per day, 500 per day. 900 in two (driving) days. These are not things that ‘must’ be done on a bike. Of course not. Hourly runs for honor and so on. Everyone has their own style. But I like a challenge. I like it, as Juha said. “When you can’t take it anymore, you can still take it.” I like that feeling when you’re at the bottom. You are so ready to throw it all away. Then you leave like that. You get up from there. It can be applied quite well. In life anyway. To these words. Hi.
