Hi, my Norco Revolver is having issues with the lower pivot near the bottom bracket.

The rear triangle has developed play. It rattles, noticeable when picking up the bike.

Tightening to 10Nm and locktite do not solve the issue.

Looking at the frame and the shaft, there is a lot of play (space around the shaft for the axel to move) video attached. There is also visible wear on the shaft on the drive side.
Is this normal, or is this wear on the shaft or even worse the frame?

I have ordered new pivot hardware and I hope this is the source of the problem.

Should this be a snug fit?

Is the play on the lower pivot between the shaft and the frame normal?

  1. Yes, the shaft should be supported by the bearings. The wear on the shaft might indicate the bearings are going bad and need to be replaced. Ideally the shaft itself should not be coming into contact with the frame at all.

that bolt looks too long for that hole. are you sure you don’t have things mixed up?
