I’m in central Europe and cargo bikes are very popular in our city as well! We have young kids and ended up opting for a detachable bike trailer instead as this allows us to leave the trailer parked so that the other parent can pick it up later and re-attach it to their bike, plus the trailer can be converted into a stroller as needed which is also quite practical. But the cargo bikes are cool and of course a more optimal choice for transporting older kids who don’t fit into a trailer. Some people also have a cargo bike for their dog.

The only thing that’s weird about cargo bikes in Copenhagen is that not a single fucker can ride one in a straight line, nor leave space for everyone else to get past.
