  1. That’s pretty old at this point. $100 or so in my book, has no bar tape and toe cage pedals, not flats (one side doesn’t really have grip and is uncomfortable)

  2. That bike is huge, if you are around 6’6″ it should fit ok. It’s very old, from the mid 90s so it will need some work. Nothing is obviously broken in the photo. It’s ok as long as you are very tall and understand it probably won’t be working perfectly as is. Tall are often heavy and can hurt old bikes. This bike was one or two steps up from the bottom 30 years ago, so it isn’t going to be very robust.

The bar tape is unraveled and the tire labels are discolored from sun. Condition of this bike is not great

  3. I’m not sure I agree with the other commenter’s. It’ll need some work for sure, but the price seems in the range of what it should be. Yeah, still try to negotiate down a bit, but I don’t think it would be easy to find better in that price range.

This subreddit just has a weird mix of opinions, some people say “any bike that rolls is worth at least $100” and others say “anything over 15 years old is basically worthless and should sell for $20”. Sometimes people will comment “you couldn’t pay me to take that bike” when the bike itself was actually really decent for its time period but is just a bit old.

This bike is probably from around the year 2000, and was a pretty good bike for its time. It’s hard to tell condition from this photo. You’ll spend at least $20 on fresh bar tape. I don’t see anything else obviously wrong with it, but tires are susceptible to age as well and will cost at least $25 each, on the low end, so bare that in mind if you go look at it.
