Hey folks,

I spotted the brand-new Endurace:ONfly SUB-10 just three days after its official release at Eurobike.

First off — the bike looks very slick. Clean lines, aggressive stance, and the integration of the electric components is pretty seamless. What really caught my eye though were the integrated lights, including a brake light, which honestly makes a ton of sense for safety, especially on group rides or in urban environments. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing features like that make their way onto traditional (non-electric) road bikes in the near future.

That said, it does raise an interesting question: who is the target audience for an electric road race bike like this? I get the appeal for commuters, gravel riders, or older cyclists who still want to tackle big climbs—but a race-focused e-bike? It feels like a bit of a niche within a niche.

Curious to hear what others think. Would you ride something like this? And if not, who do you think would?

  1. There is a market for it. Trek, Specialized, Giant all have electric road models.

There are a couple of older folks in my club who still want to ride without having to lug around an obscenely heavy e-bike.

Top of the line components like this one is definitely a niche within a niche but someone will have the cash sitting around for it.
