Bikepacking across Austria to Germany through a storm, worried about finding a place to camp for the night.

storm is rolling in my knee isn’t doing great and I’ve got 60 miles to bike from Vienna with no guaranteed place to sleep this is day one of my bike ride across Austria to Germany i bike through the beautiful city of Vienna grab a pretzel sandwich little breakfast
and then I head out over the Danube i just happened to call my campsite and they’re like “Be here at 8:30 or you are out of luck.” With 30 miles to go fueled by coffee cheesy hambread and a lot of panic I book it so the rain is here i make it to Durnstein with 10 minutes to spare and the office is closed i’m locked out i make a phone call use some broken German and I barely understand where a hidden key is if you want to see more of the ride and where the adventure goes I’ve got the full video over on Eat Drink Bike

  1. It might be worth stopping in a shop to see if you can get a bike fit. I had one done and it was worth every penny. My knees are also sensitive to crank length and saddle height. Not sure if it's the same for you but it's worth looking into.
