The only thing I dislike about this bike is the fork, it just feels so heavy I want to be able to take my rack off and use it just as a normal gravel bike sometimes. When I do use it for bike packing I never have more than 20lbs on my front rack. Maybe I’m just trying to avoid buying a new bike.

Personally replacing a steel fork with carbon is just dumb. You’ll be making the ride harsher and spending more than the value of the bike in what I would consider a downgrade is just silly. Not saying all carbon forks are harsh, but they are best when built specifically for the bike. Steel bikes are known for supple and smooth rides. Why ruin that? If you want a light weight bike, get a lightweight bike. You can have more than one bike.
I don’t think that you’re going to notice as much of a difference as you think by swapping the fork… get some high end carbon wheels and you’ll feel a big difference. That’s the only thing that’s ever really felt noticeable for me anyway…
Not a bad idea, I just hate the idea of not using the king hub.
