Hi yall,
New to the sub just pick this up, not familiar with Bianchis. The frame is made of 7005 aluminum comes with a chromoly fork. If anyone can shed some knowledge on this particular frame, it would be greatly appreciated. I searched online but only seems to come up with a slight different model that was a hybrid bike with a different seat stays. The closest thing i found was this one. https://www.clcycle.ca/en/blogs/montages-recents/adams-bianchi-boardwalk/ but it's a steel frame. The shimano hub has an 8spd cassette, i was wondering if i can switch it out for an 11spd freehub or do i need to get new hubs.
I'm convinced that its an old cyclocross bike because of the sticker but not even sure if its an original sticker. I have an old pair of dura ace 11spd bar end shifters that will go on there, but hoping to turn this into drop bar cross-touring bike for mixed surfaces. Thanks fam

not sure on ID. but no, an 11-speed road cassette will not work on an 8-speed HG freehub body. you will need to replace the rear wheel for one with an 11-speed freehub body.
from my understanding, the boardwalk is a flat bar hybrid. and this one must have had drops added in its lifetime. if you currently have an 8 speed rear cassette, you can def fit an 11 speed. so long as it’s a mtb 11 speed and not a road 11 speed. also, i’d check if your drop brakes are compatible with the linear / long pull v brakes you have on there.
Unless these are special v-brake drop bar brake levers, they might not be the right levers for those brakes. In all cases that I’ve seen like this, the levers don’t pull the brakes strongly enough and the brakes don’t “lock” the wheel up (ie brakes are insufficient for braking and require an adapter to pull the brake cable adequately). I would suggest inspecting the brakes a bit and seeing how they perform before really using the bike.

There is a difference between a cross bike, and a cyclocross bike. The model name is a hint about which of those it is, “Boardwalk” does not say dirt racing to me.
