23/05/2025. Mike Hall and Ann O’Connor presenting. Emma Sweeney reports from Salford.
The collision happened on Lower Broughton Road around 8:20pm on Thursday 22nd May.
Emergency services were called, but the 16-year-old and 17-year-old boys both died later in hospital. The driver of the car, a 24-year-old woman, stayed at the scene to assist officers, and no arrests have been made.
The 2 teenagers have been named locally as Kailem Robinson and Kaine Darby. The families of both victims are being supported by specialist officers.
The busy road was blocked by locals grieving the deaths. Bins and gaffer tape was used to close off Lower Broughton Road where a tribute was placed for both boys.
The road was initially open, as mourners left flowers, tributes and photos on the pavement near to where the crash occurred. However, it was later closed to the public with friends of the deceased signalling to oncoming traffic to avoid the area.

Tragic though it is, neither of these boys were old enough to have a full bike license, and it's illegal to carry a passenger on a provisional..
