I got a pretty good deal on a DT Swiss rear wheel, but it became a nightmare.
I checked everything, but I was in a hurry and forgot to check the free hub, result = bought it with XDR free hub instead of HG.
The wheel model is a DT Swiss C 1800 Spline.
I looked into a bunch of Reddit posts and ChatGPT (big mistake) and was convinced I needed a DT Swiss HG Ratchet LN free hub. Bought it from eBay just to find out it doesn’t work. On top of that, I can’t return it to eBay.
Anyways, now I have TWO freaking free hubs that don’t work on my groupset/wheel.
HELP ME PLEASE

That 1800 wheelset uses the old dt 3 pawl freehub not ratchet LN.
Buy campagnolo to make this count to three xD

Yah chat gpt will consistently fail you for small part compatability details
Your wheel does not have Ratchet system.
You need a normal Hub with non Ratchet or you can change part from your hub to have Ratchet. You can ask me If you need more information.
PS. Sorry for my Englisch
If you’re at the end of your rope and sick of buying the wrong freehub body, you could always switch it up and buy the wrong cassette instead?
I’d suggest – a 12 spd if your frame is only suitable for 11, one with a cog larger than the capacity of your detailer, or if you’re really dedicated to the cause, try to find a campy cassette to realllllly mess things up…!
But seriously, consider re-selling them on PinkBike, especially if they’re basically new. Or keep the XDR one in a drawer, you never know what you might need in a couple years if you get bored with your current drivetrain. We’ve all bought wrong parts (BB’s are my greatest blunder) and sometimes you end up building a parts bin special once you have enough junk collecting dust. Don’t beat yourself up.
[this is what you need](http://Competitive Cyclist – Road & Mountain Bikes, Apparel, & Accessories | Competitive Cyclist https://share.google/mKW1SvS0ZbS2rE9Rz)
Alternatively you can get [this ](http://Universal Cycles — DT Swiss HG Ratchet LN Upgrade Frhub Kit [HXYXXX00N7683S, HXYXXX00N3767S, HXYXXX00N5970S] https://share.google/YrLYmPMwvMSTLY2LQ) which let’s you use the nicer star ratchet system over the older 3 pawl system. It’s more money and needs a few specialty tools so idk if it’s worth it but it will work
Looking online the Ratchet LN freehub is the correct choice. What’s not working about it?
Call DT Swiss, they can tell you the free hub you need.
You need to be going to bike shops and paying for someone who knows what they are doing. Especially when you really don’t know what you’re doing.
Just get the correct free hub body. Cheaper than new wheel.
