[Applause] good morning and welcome back to another video today we are looking at the Brighton Rider 650 which is Brighton’s brand new computer and it’s very much aimed at the sort of standard or average rider it’s their mid-range computer and it’s got a real focus on core functions that most people want so if you’re wanting um it for some extreme thing like ultra racing or something like that you might want to look at something like the S810 but for your general rider for going out riding this might be the computer for you so the key features of the um 650 are it’s got a 2.8 8 in screen it’s got a touchcreen and it’s fully color it’s got buttons as well which is quite useful if you’re using gloves and it’s also got a third extra button on the side which is customizable it’s got an ambient light sensor so it automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen or you can turn that off and just do it yourself battery life’s around 30 hours 33 hours so again for the average rider it’s probably going to last you a week of riding which I find quite useful um navigation it has got preloaded maps of your area it does do turnbyturn navigation if you wanted it to do rerouting you will need a phone with you to be able to do that it has got a graphical workout screen which uh shows you the graph of your intervals and things like that it links with um all sorts of third party apps pretty much everything you can think of you can link it to that it’s got group ride and uh live track uh feature too along with all sorts of sensors you can link it to i’ve linked it to my power heart rate uh rear radar you can also link it to your trainer for doing workouts and when out on the road it’s also got climb challenge which is Brighton’s feature that shows you the topography of the land you’re going up when a climb comes up it and that shows you the gradient and the distance you’ve got to go up the climb and it also comes with Brighton’s 2-year warranty another thing I like about the Brightons is they do come with removable uh socket or not a socket but the uh whatever the other bits you called drop that in the comments below if you know the uh word I’m looking for but it does come with a removable piece here so if you need to um replace it or connect it to a different mount you can change that on the back there which is pretty useful okay so when you first turn your uh 650 on you do get this screen so you can choose which sort of riding you’re doing and if you click on road ride it brings up your data pages and you can just press the side button to start the ride and as you can see it’s pretty easy to switch pages using your finger or you can use the buttons on the side if you want to pause or stop the ride you can just press the pause button and choose to continue or discard or save the ride if you want to do courses or anything else like that you can choose any routes you’ve uploaded or you can do an explore feature which is when you pick a particular distance and go and it gives you some routes to choose from i found when I do do longer rides or try to do a longer route sometimes it does have difficulty doing that but generally shorter rides it works fine you can also choose workouts if there’s any workouts or you could do a Brighton test if you like using the one provided and as you can see it’s got that graphical interface there or you can link it to your trainer if you’ve got one and the same with any um outside sensors or anything like that you can choose to link those so if you go in the settings again you could look at your road bike settings you can look at your data pages and having used the app you can change your data pages you can turn on or off auto features for example auto lap if you wanted it to lap every 10 km 10 miles you could set it to do that or the time it’s pausing you can turn your climb page on or off if you don’t want uh to see that pop up every time you come to a rise in the road and you can turn on or off rerouting as I said with rerouting you need your phone nearby and it’s pretty straightforward to use dayto-day so that’s all the main features of it what’s it like to use let’s get out on the road and see some of the other features okay so here we are out on the bike and as expected the Brighton 650 is behaving very nicely and giving me all the data I need i’ve linked it to my rear radar it’s showing me my Di2 battery and my heart rate which is going up a bit at the moment as we’re going uphill and as I said inside it is a pretty simple computer to use when you’re out and about once you’ve set it up you don’t really need to do a lot with it and as you can see it’s telling me there’s a car behind The screen is nice and clear to read and I’ve got what six data fields on it so if you are particularly after the climb challenge maybe you need to be looking at the 810 to get that without having to have a route in and as I said the explore function still seems a little bit weward and I seem to remember it being weward when I looked at the 810 so all in all a pretty functional unit and pretty solid in my experience whether you need those extra features I don’t know that’s another thing to think about so let’s go back inside and have a round up [Applause] so the important question of course is how have I found it so I’ve been using it for a week or two now and like the other Brighton computers I’ve used and there’s a few reviews on the channel of those if you want to look at the other um computers available I found it really easy to use it records rides without any problem it automatically uploads them to Straa or Training Peaks and those sorts of apps it’s fully functional for what I need for my day-to-day riding i can set up all the data screens I like um it can you know show me power it’s got a good battery life so all in all I think the Brighton Rider 650 is as um Brighton have suggested it’s certainly capable of pretty much most things people need for their day-to-day riding as I said if you did want to do something more extreme and needed a longer battery life or better independent mapping and things like that maybe the S810 is for you but if you you know use um courses occasionally and follow routes and if most of your riding is general day-to-day riding where you want to see your power and those sort of data metrics with a decent battery life maybe the 650 is for you if you want to find out more don’t forget of course you can look on the uh Brighton website and I’ll put a link for that down below or if you want to buy one there’s a link as well down below which is an affiliate link to um Amazon where in the UK you can buy it for $169.99 and I expect it’s similar in dollars and euros too and as I said it has a 2-year warranty so if you’ve got any questions about the computer don’t forget to drop them down below in the comments and I hope you enjoyed the video and until next time bye for

Новая модель? 😮
The 650 looks almost similar to the s510. You tested both. Which one would you recommend and why?
