thus day of road racing proper before the time trial on Sunday What would stage seven open up for us on the tour to Swiss Well a very long day it has to be said of 207 kilometers Kevin Vlan knew that he would be attacked out there by this man Xiao Almeida in the black jersey and looking absolutely focused and ready to do damage And it was the sort of parkour where that is precisely what you were able to achieve Couple of calorie two tests and then a final climb to the line including ramps of 13% This was going to hurt especially with it being the longest stage of this year’s race and also the hottest at 28 C So warm conditions to sap the nerves and the energy and indeed I’ve got to say as well the reaching for the ice was almost a constant thing throughout the entire day and you could understand just look at it Virtually no flat ground to play with out there It’s been a character of the tour of Switzerland throughout Likewise has been the proclivity of a breakaway a strong one to go up the road and we’ve had winners from it Simmons was up there again from Little Trek Anglehart for Jacob The surf was there for Sudau Vass in the King of the Mountains jersey was amassing more points and would secure that on this very day Tanut was there U for Israel of Vandenbrook crucially perhaps for picnic post now for only let’s wait and see if that was to be revealed angled was there as well so digging into the mountains and Quinn Simmons says I’d had enough of this away he went blasov tried to stay with him but frankly Blasov had already done his job would there be another job for Quinn Simmons on drop back for the day we’d wait and see 22 from home Simmons still thinking about a stage win at this point two peaks to be taken Cavalary 2 test that was already shedding some very good riders Well those have been cast aunder were not in the thoughts of those out front and quite frankly This was a great drive by Datapan Agamondial Felix Gal being guided and would he be able to pay back the dividend That was the question Super work Meanwhile the yellow jersey was staying with it Tried to go with Gal Couldn’t do it Only was on the back wheel of yellow Where was black the points jersey and Shiao Almeida drama personified while he was bobbing with another black jersey the trade kit of Allefi racing of course with Tuna Pro Cycling who did a lot of work on the day Ameda tried to bridge over to the back wheel of Onley here who was marshalling and monitoring Gal as he pushed on but the gaps are starting to get opened up and become fishes out there Well this was amazing fishes of men I think you might say And Quinn Simmons finally easing up with 19 kilometers to go Not to be for him Potential for him to do work further back down the the road for Leonard Pemner We’re still thinking about a top five place in this race as well He was in the second group but that first group right on your screen were the ones that were kicking on for glory How much glory How much space could be achieved Could Almeida out Fox Vocal at the last bonus seconds up for laps that’s starting to loom large in the minds of those who would be gunning for the title and the filtering process just continued Almeida closed the gap on Gal hugging the barriers here and just hoping to sail home but not being allowed any kind of freedom by those around him Oddly stuck on his wheel Allef still bouncing here Vocal in the leader jersey Maida knew he had company almost permanently and had to constantly double check on them and other groups were starting to close the gap So they pushed on again Allef got tagged off and wrestled his way back on Vocal still biting his time just could not get a drive going at this point It was going to be just one roll of the dice Very very late on as we approached the Fram Rouge They were kind of looking at each other until this dropped back a little bit gave himself some rush room Proper tracking move this and he went off to the barriers and it looked like it might well be his day on set off in hot pursuit for him Also thinking about the potential for a podium after the time trial tomorrow We’ll see how well he goes But Almeida with a lot of ground to make up He needed to finish in front of Vocal and would he actually manage to do so Well Onley set off and almost gave a lead out here to Almeida Grounded Onley the man in black and then it was to be a throw for the line Vocal wanted this so badly but it wasn’t to be and in fact first turned into third for him as Alme crossed the line ahead of only and Vocal what an amazing day gal coming in bravely likewise shooting now Felipe would drop down one place in the overall standings Almeida closing the gap but still not leading this race two stage wins for Almeida two second places as well clearly the strongest rider here But that first day tactical mess up has to be accounted for Well he’s doing it slowly but surely But what a final we’ve had And what a finale we’re going to get with our time trial Tomorrow the only rider to take two stages in this race He did the same last year actually and then seeded the title to Adam Yates on the final day in the title session Could it be the same scenario for him Valan will be hoping So great riding by the pair of them Almea taking the stage ahead of Vocal a brave third place Still getting himself four bonus seconds So a 6-second gap between Almeida and Vocal in terms of the line plus a couple on the roads Almeida then with the smile But will he be smiling tomorrow gets himself a big lump of cheese to think about it Vocal by 33 seconds ahead of Almeida That’s the bridgeable gap Juliano Philipe in third place with Oscar only hoping for a miracle and a podium Let’s wait and see You never know Vocal exhausted Can he reather himself and go again and hold on to that margin of 33 seconds for the time trial finale What a way to finish this race It’s only 10 km tomorrow 10.1 to be precise The gradients don’t waver much and it’s constant climbing almost throughout the entire run Who’s going to win Tune in tomorrow to find out

  2. Is the commentator actually watching the highlights while commenting or is he just winging it? It's so confused in parts. Worst highlight run (speaking of the whole TdS) by TNT so far.
