They say they bought it last year and used only a couple times. Asking $550 got down to $500. My son is getting a bit older and is learning to ride his bike really well and I want something we can hit the local walking trails on and that will last me years to come. Plenty of overpriced bikes on FB near me. From what I can see this is a $700 bike. Just want to make sure it's a good deal. Thanks!

At $500 it’s a lot better than anything “new” you can buy in that price range.
If it’s the right size for you and if it was well taken care of I’d say send it.
Try to talk them down. I think people are pricing things “aspirationally” right now. Fair price is closer to $350-400. Bring up the value of the warranty for the new bike. Giant recalls their proprietary forks sometimes.
450 I would go for. Its a great bike EVEN for 500. I have the same one but a few years older
