i made it to libluana slovenia it was a big day but it started off right saying goodbye to all the other cyclists at the campsite then straight up it’s a maximum grade that’s not average grade so we’ll see what the average is i ended up detouring and taking a little harder route today so i could do this awesome climb called vanguard but once i got there i saw that the road was closed and there were signs blocking it which made me super sad until a different cyclist stopped and said “hey you can actually go up it’s just no motorbikes no cars no nothing only bikes it’s an out and back so i left my pan ears at the bottom and ended up riding the whole thing with two people from germany philip and lahi this is the highest paved road in all of slovenia and we just climbed it at half the speed of té pagacha but let me say it was still pretty fast then i put my head down to make the last 60 mi to liblana i had a feeling nobody was going to steal my bike in this parking spot while i went inside a shop and refueled and also cooled off there are two types of people those that sprint to the finish and those that don’t want it to end did i lean toward sprinting to the finish so it was just kind of a slog trying to get these miles done but it was mostly downhill until finally rolling into town getting some dinner and now i’m recording this vlog here are the stats for the nerds and that’s a wrap
