Way to help him find his home 🙂 we recently learned that turtles can’t find their way home easily if they’re commuted too far!
Thats a tortoise, a land turtle. Hope you didn’t drop him in a pond. You likely removed him from his roaming territory as well.
I hope you didn’t take it too far, box turtles have like a “home range” and that lil cutie will probably try to get back to it.
What? Why are you carrying it around? It was probably heading for a grassy area nearby. Should have just set it over there. I’ve done that a couple times when seeing a turtle in the road. I just put it off the side of the road, whatever side it was heading towards.

I can’t believe I need to clarify.
You could cook an egg on the pavement, it was having a hard time even touching the ground. I took it around the 8 foot embankment that I was heading towards, which has its natural habitat on the other side.
It’s an Eastern box turtle.
It’s not an aquatic turtle, it’s a land turtle. It’s not a tortoise.
No I didn’t throw it into a pond.
