perfectly suitable for making this fertilizer the important thing is that we utilize the nutrient rich peel orange peels contain a large amount of beneficial compounds such as vitamin C flavonoids and especially natural essential oils these components not only boost the plant’s immunity but also have natural antibacterial and antifungal properties to ensure we extract the maximum amount of valuable nutrients from the orange peel please chop the peel finely like this chopping finely makes it easier to blend place all the chopped orange peel into a blender next carefully add 500 milliliters of water blend the orange peel and water mixture thoroughly the water helps the valuable compounds in the peel dissolve and extract more easily creating a nutrient rich solution after blending completely dilution is crucial making the solution gentler and suitable for watering orchids without shocking the plant while ensuring optimal nutrient absorption method 1 with the diluted orange peel solution we’ll apply the first method to care for the orchid leaves this is an effective way to both clean and protect the plant use a soft cloth or cotton pad soaked thoroughly in the orange peel solution and carefully wipe both the top and bottom of each orchid leaf make sure you don’t miss any crevices or corners this not only removes dust buildup on the leaf surface but the special thing is that the natural essential oils in the orange peel after soaking and processing become a highly effective weapon to repel harmful insects that often reside on orchid leaves clean leaves also help the plant photosynthesize better and produce chlorophyll more efficiently resulting in a vibrant lively green colour you should maintain wiping the leaves with the orange peel solution one to two times a month to protect your orchids from pests and keep the leaves lush green and healthy and the best thing about using this organic method it’s absolute safety since this solution is entirely natural and free methods they’re effective environmentally friendly and safe for both gardeners and the ecosystem in our gardens if you want to learn the secret to caring for Phalaenopsis orchids make sure to watch this video carefully until the end your orchids will become strong grow new roots and bloom vibrantly all year round method 2 besides leaf wiping the orange peel solution is also an excellent nutrient source for watering directly at the orchid’s base nourishing the roots from deep within use the diluted orange peel solution to water the base of the orchid one to two times a month this method directly supplies valuable organic compounds like humic and fulvic acids key components that improve soil structure enhance the root’s nutrient absorption capacity and improve water retention in the orchid’s growing medium keeping the plants sufficiently moist without water logging in particular orange peels contain many essential minerals like potassium magnesium Calcium and other trace elements all these nutrients are vital for the healthy development of the root system helping orchid roots become sturdy and grow long enabling the plant to absorb water and nutrients to the fullest laying the foundation for vibrant blooms like Method 1 you can also use this solution to water other plants orange peels are rich in vitamin C and flavonoids these antioxidants enhance the plant’s overall immunity making them less prone to diseases and better able to withstand environmental changes and let’s not forget the essential minerals like potassium magnesium Calcium and trace elements for anthuriums and lilies potassium is particularly important promoting even blooming vibrant colors and long lasting flowers meanwhile magnesium helps leaves stay lush glossy and photosynthesize more efficiently you’ll see the leaves of anthuriums lilies or money plants become deeper in color and full of vitality method 3 pour the remaining solution into a clean spray bottle ensure the bottle has a fine mist nozzle so the solution can spread evenly across the plant then gently mist thoroughly over all the leaves and stems this misting method has an effect similar to applying foliar fertilizers the fine mist droplets containing nutrients will penetrate directly through the leaf epidermis promptly supplying essential vitamins minerals and natural essential oils from the orange peel this not only makes the leaves greener and glossier but also significantly strengthens the plant’s resilience from within a natural shield is formed helping the plant better resist pests mold and harmful environmental factors try to perform this misting one to two times a month to maintain its effectiveness the ideal time for misting is early morning when the temperature is cool and the leaves can easily absorb nutrients mist in the morning also allows the leaves enough time to dry before the harsh midday sun preventing water pooling that could harm the plant this is a simple habit but will make a significant difference to the health and beauty of your garden plants results plants cared for with this method will thrive remarkably with a vibrant vitality you can truly feel in particular to enhanced immunity and regular cleaning the vibrant appearance of the leaves is the clearest proof that the plant is being nurtured correctly and for flowering plants like orchids or anthuriums you’ll see more blooms larger flowers vibrant colors and flowers that last longer buds will also appear densely signaling a bountiful blooming season all these positive changes come from our smart and on caring for orchids with organic fertilizers today I’ll guide you in detail from the steps of repotting a plant to the phase when it’s settled in its new pot each step will be performed clearly and understandably so that anyone even those new to orchid Care can confidently follow along everything will be shared based on the practical experience I’ve applied in my own orchid garden caring for an orchid pot isn’t just about technique it’s also about patience and love for the plant I have created subtitles in multiple languages please select your preferred language comment below and let me know which country you are watching from it’s amazing that we can connect from all around the world let’s get started this is cinnamon powder cinnamon powder has natural antibacterial properties helping to prevent mold and bacteria I’ll use 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder add it to 500 milliliters of boiling water stir well and let it cool I bought this orchid three months ago for $10 after its flowers bloomed and faded now is the perfect time to repot and revive its vitality repotting after flowering not only gives the plant a rest but also creates conditions for root recovery nutrient accumulation and preparation for a new blooming cycle if you have orchids like this join me in watching the full video to learn how to care for them first I’ll cut off all the bloomed flower stalks as they no longer nourish the plan after flowering however the dormant nodes that haven’t bloomed on the stem still have the potential to develop into new buds or shoots so I’ll keep the stem sections with healthy green nodes retaining these nodes gives the plant a chance to sprout new growth after its rest period next I’ll gently remove the plastic pot to avoid damaging the orchid’s base when bought from nurseries most orchids are planted in moss to retain moisture during transport and initial care however once home we should completely remove this old moss over time used moss accumulates bacteria fungi and can harbour pests affecting root development removing old moss allows us to thoroughly check the root condition and provides aeration when repotting after fully removing the old moss the root system becomes more visible making it easier to assess each root’s condition at this point immediately cut away any damaged mushy blackened or hollow roots these can no longer absorb water or nutrients and keeping them risks spreading disease to healthy roots clean trimming helps the orchid recover faster and grow new healthy roots then I’ll rinse the entire plant under running water this removes all dirt bacteria and root fragments left after trimming it also cools the stem and creates a clean environment for the next steps be gentle to avoid damaging the remaining healthy roots once the cinnamon water has cooled I’ll filter out the sediment this cinnamon water will be used to treat the entire plant before repotting with its strong antibacterial and antifungal properties cinnamon water gently disinfects protecting the plant from lingering pathogens post trimming add 1 liter of water to dilute the solution soak the trimmed orchid entirely in this cinnamon solution for 30 minutes after 30 minutes I’ll take the plant out and tie a string around its base like this I’ll hang the orchid upside down for two days do you know why when hung upside down excess water in the roots and stem drains faster especially after treating fungi jarred diseases with the soaking solution this reduces the risk of root or base rot when replanting in a new pot after two days of hanging upside down to fully dry and naturally disinfect the cuts I’ll proceed to repot the orchid in a new pot I’ll use foam to line the pots base increasing aeration for the medium I’ll use thoroughly treated pine bark as the growing medium pine bark not only drains well but also provides ideal aeration for root development when planting I’ll secure the base firmly to prevent wobbling helping the plant stabilize and recover quickly cover with a thin layer of moss to retain moisture in the medium I’ll peel off the protective sheath on these dormant nodes to encourage faster new shoot growth and that’s it we’ve completed the step of repotting the orchid to help the plant recover quickly I’ll use these sprouted potatoes sprouted potatoes contain many nutrients like potassium phosphorus and a small amount of natural compounds that stimulate root growth I’ll peel and use the skin of one sprouted potato this is coffee I’ll use 1 teaspoon of coffee or coffee grounds either works I’ll mix everything with 500 milliliters of boiling water let the mixture steep to extract nutrients and soak for a few hours to draw out all the beneficial compounds this mixture contains vital nutrients potato peels provide potassium and vitamins for quick recovery while coffee is rich in nitrogen promoting leaf and root growth once the water cools I’ll filter out the solids add 1.5 liters of water to dilute the solution method one I’ll use the resulting solution to water the orchids base watering with this solution naturally supplies essential nutrients stimulates strong root growth and supports rapid recovery after repotting using the prepared fertilizer I’ll care for the other orchids in my garden too sprouted potato peels contain abundant starch vitamin C potassium and a small amount of solanine a compound with antibacterial properties that helps prevent some fungal and bacterial root diseases the natural starch in potatoes also provides energy for the plant aiding new root development coffee grounds or instant coffee contain potassium magnesium and a small amount of nitrogen excellent nutrients for the plant’s overall growth potassium especially helps orchids bloom evenly while nitrogen and magnesium support lush leaves and a sturdy root system watering this mixture at the base not only delivers essential nutrients naturally but also improves disease resistance helping the plant recover quickly post repotting method two while waiting for the roots to absorb nutrients from the base watering I’ll use the same solution to mist the entire stem and leaves evenly misting with sprouted potato and coffee solution helps the orchid absorb nutrients quickly through the leaf surface particularly potassium and vitamins from potatoes boosting resilience and photosynthesis coffee provides additional trace minerals for greener glossier healthier leaves this is a crucial care step for quick recovery especially in the early days after repotting when the roots are still weak supplementing nutrients through the leaves helps the plant overcome shock and enhances comprehensive recovery I’ll wet a cotton pad with the solution from the spray bottle and wrap it around these dormant nodes the compounds in potatoes and coffee will stimulate the nodes to sprout faster method 3 here’s something important for beginners after misting use a soft cloth or clean cotton to wipe off any water pooling at the top or in leaf crevices if left these spots can easily harbor bacteria and mold causing stem or leaf rot gently wiping keeps the plant cleaner and protects it from common diseases especially in humid climates or when the plant is still weak post repotting always be gentle and patient as this meticulous care will help your orchid grow healthier and stronger every day after completing all the care steps gently remove the orchid from the soaking pot and place it in a cool airy spot away from direct sunlight the location should have good air circulation but no strong drafts as after treatment and fertilizing the plant needs time to rest recover and absorb nutrients this phase is critical for stabilization and preparation for new growth results after two months after two months of patient care a few new roots have started to appear this is a sign the orchid is recovering very well the young roots off white with sometimes light green tips show the plant has adapted to the new environment and is absorbing nutrients again the leaves have also become sturdier greener and glossier the dormant nodes have sprouted into large new flower stems at this point you can be confident that the revival process was successful from here simply continue gentle care provide periodic nutrients and observe the plant’s response at each growth stage with consistent care habits the plant will not only grow stronger roots but also produce new blooms as beautiful as before if you found this video helpful don’t forget to like and subscribe to catch 1. Photo of one cup looks like chicken soup. I water with a concoction of coffee grounds, egg shell and rice. For the last 2 months in a medium of coconut shells. Replanted/planted 3 Kiki's and they are thriving.
