Hey everyone! This summer I'm heading on a 5–6 day bikepacking trip with 4 friends from Aarlen (BE) to Zurich (CH). We’re going pretty lightweight and would love your tips on must-see nature spots, fun things to do along the way, and any foodie gems we shouldn’t miss. Any local insights or hidden gems would be amazing—thanks a lot in advance!
(This is the current route I've made)

just skip the luxembourg to strasbourg part really boring
Strasbourg to Mulhouse via the Route de vins d’Alsace or whatever it’s called is lovely. Nice campgrounds, nice views, lots of ice cream and cafes in the wine towns.
If you do that, Mulhouse to Basel after is ok but not exciting. From Basel to Zurich I’d follow the Rhein then divert to Zurich at the last minute, there are a couple (2-3) sensible valleys w/ lowish traffic roads to ride up, any of them have mostly farm roads / private bike lanes / little traffic and are pleasant ways to arrive.
But you do miss Freiburg which is a nice town. I’ve not ridden from the Rhein to Freiburg so don’t know how the roads are in terms of safety/traffic/etc but I guess not too busy if you time it well.
I get that those are pretty hilly terrains so I get why the route aims right in between, but you miss on either the Vosges or the Vosges du Nord; both being great regions to cross.
Also, it’s called “Arlon” 😉
I really loved Basel and the part between it and Schaffhausen (nice camping near the river) and Stein am Rhein! Freiburg was also really nice. The Strassburg part was quite boring
I’ve cycled along the length of the Rhine, and also through Switzerland. Personally I think Lucerne is a lot prettier than Zurich, maybe something to consider. Could be worth to change the final destination
I literally just did this route two days ago.
Biking through the Black Forest was my biggest highlight.
