This week was a bit lighter than planned!
After taking nearly two weeks off from running to let my Achilles recover, I finally laced up again for a short 5K in the heat. Not the fastest or longest run, but a satisfying one nonetheless.
I also want to say a massive THANK YOU to all my new subscribers. We’ve hit more than 100 subs!
Super grateful for the support and motivation — it keeps me going!
Some weeks you push, others you pull back. This was one of those reset weeks. Less camera time, more recovery, and getting ready for what’s ahead.
Let’s keep building — 11 weeks to go until race day!

Hey everyone. Welcome back to another video. If you are new here, my name is Jeroen and I’m training for my very first Ironman 70.3. We are now 11 weeks out from race day and I document my training each week. The highs, the lows, and everything in between. This week was a bit quieter than usual in terms of training volume. I’ve been dealing with some minor Achilles tendon issues so I took a break from running to let it recover and honestly I just didn’t pick up the camera as much as I would have liked.
Some weeks are like that. Less footage, but still I had some key training sessions in that you will see throughout this video. Also, I just want to say a huge thank you to all my new subscribers. I’ve officially hit my first milestone. More than 100 subscribers. Really amazing. Thank you for all the support. It means a lot to me. Let’s take a look at how the week went. Enjoy the video and see you on the next one. I just got back from my swim session. A pretty decent swim. I did a total of 1500 meters where I did 200 meters of a warm up, 200 meters with a pool buoy, 100 meters, pedals and the main set was two times 500 meters with some rest in between. So yeah, not a bad start of the day. I just want to take a quick pause from the video to ask you to like and subscribe if you are enjoying this content. I have a very small channel and you liking this really helps the algorithm find me. Okay, back to the video. Back from my Thursday evening swim was a very good session. 1500 meters. I feel like I’m getting more comfortable with the longer swims in the open water so I’m gonna increase that over the next few weeks. Yeah, going home now. Have some food and then enjoy a nice evening. All right, Good morning. It is Saturday morning and I’m about to go on my long ride. It’s going to be a very hot day today here in the Netherlands with 30 degrees plus and the plan is to do the same ride as I did last week. 80km and maybe a little bit longer. Let’s see how it goes. And yeah, I have plenty of gels with me, water. So let’s go on this ride together. First lap done. Time to get some water in so some food and then on to the second lap. Around 40 kilometers in now and riding around 32 kilometers an hour. It’s not too bad. Temperature is good and time to pick up the pace a little bit at second lap. Ciao. All right, I just got back from my long ride, had a nice shower, had some food, drinking a little coffee now and then. Yeah, let’s dive into stats together. I started at around 7:45 this morning, because it’s gonna be extremely hot today and I wanted to beat the heat and managed to do 80 kilometers, so two times my standard loop in two hours and 28 minutes with an average speed of 32.5 kilometers an hour, which is a little faster than last week. Happy with that, power when power went up a little bit as well. For the Ironman, my goal is to hit a pace, on average speed between 33 and 34 kilometers an hour. So definitely some work to do here still. But yeah, we’ll keep it going. No more training for me today. Tomorrow I want to start running again very slowly. Sunday. My first run in almost two weeks. After taking time off to let my Achilles, recover, I’d rather take a step back now than risk a more serious injury down the line. It was very hot today, but I still managed to get a solid 5k done. No speed records, nothing fancy, just getting the legs moving again and feeling things out. Afterwards, I jumped into my little cold plunge at home. It’s not a real ice bath, not yet at least. But since I filled it up yesterday, the water was still nice and cold. Definitely refreshing after a run like that. One day there will be a proper ice bath set up on our terrace. Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it and see you all next week.
