dont know about failing but put protection wrap on the whole bike or at least where you fasten your bags

i recommend finding a kit and someone experienced to put it on. got mine at [easy-frame.com](http://easy-frame.com) and the guy put it on for me too for 200€ overall, and after a year i say it was worth it

The Ortlieb quick rack is designed specifically for this purpose, so I guess you’re fine. Most weight is on the thru axle.

  3. That is some seriously awkward boss position on those seatstays. Makes it impossible to mount a Rack.

The fender adapter looks atrocious. I’d rather have external cable routing rather than that abomination. What were the Cannondale engineers smoking when they placed those screw holes?
This is so they can only sell their own canyon mudguards?

On a normal frame i would mount that to the seatpost clamp directly. There are extended seatpost clamps that have a set of Threads for rack mounts. But ofc canyon had to use some proprietary clamping mechanism here too.

For the seatpost mount of the rack: I guess you are okay since it is well dampened through the rubber strips. I would hate the dangling around though. The bigger risk is the rubber strips breaking, not the seatpost imo.

    God i am glad i don’t have a modern ~~Canyon~~ Cannondale.

  4. Carbon is ridiculously strong, and this is in compression, which the seatpost is designed for. As long as it isn’t rubbing it’s going to last longer than you own the bike

  5. I love that ure running deep dishs with panniers 😀

    Youll be fine, have fun!!

Arguably, just having a rack on a Synapse means you’ve already failed.

More worried about your front wheel in that sort of stand, especially if laden.

  8. If it does fail you could get yourself a set of [Hebie Alumee](https://www.hebie.de/en/protection/mudguards/fixed-mudguards/alumee/).

They are box section solid aluminium combined mudguard / pannier rack. They are really strong and rock solid. My partner regularly overloads her Ortleibs well beyond the 8kg rating and I have never had to readjust them in the four years she’s had them. I also run them on my gravel bike, but only occasionally stick a pannier on them.

Is what going to fail? The seat post clamp? That’s what it’s designed for. The fender bridge adapter thingy? No load on that – don’t worry.

My only question is how did you attach the fenders to the chainstay/dropouts? I don’t see anything there.
