I got my bike tuned up and they placed a new chain. Have had some slight shifting issues where the chain would get jammed every few days but (at my own expense) kind of ignored it and would just adjust it and keep going.
Today I was shifting gears and the chain jammed again but this time it bent a component as well. I have not dropped it or had any impacts, so I’m unsure what is going on. It is a Shimano RX100 piece (rd-a551 rear derailleur)
I don’t want to go blame the shop if it was my fault, but in the 10 years I’ve had the bike I never had chain jams/issues until after the tune up. Attaching a photo.
Truly new at this so any guidance is helpful as to what to say to the shop when I take it in

Is the chain not routed around the bottom derailleur sprocket?
Looks like you got the beans above the franks!
My theory on this: The shifting issues and chain jamming could be due to the new chain not going well with the used (and possibly worn) cogs and chainring. You didn’t have issues with the old chain since it wore itself into the old cogs and chainring.
The eventual chain jam eventually got so bad that it caught your rear derailleur (RD) causing it to flip into the cogs.
Bad news is now you have a damaged RD, and a bent RD hanger. Depending on the bend, the hanger can be repaired (since it looks like old steel frame), but I’m sure that you’ll need a new RD.
I’m not sure I see a hanger on there. That means your frame itself is bent. That’s not good.
Have them confirm it was routed through the jockeys properly as someone else mentions
Update:
I was biking, shifted gears, pedaled, and the jam happened. In the moment I just pushed a bit harder. Been biking find for the past 3 weeks other than the occasional chain jam. I haven’t messed with it since the whole thing bent this afternoon. I ended up just walking back with the bike instead of trying to force anything back myself.
need a new RD, this happened to me before.
5 spd.? i love this old school setup! it’s probably all age appripriate. i hope you can get it fixed, but that derailleur mount dropout seems cracked. it’ll prolly take some torch work or grinder and hot glue gun to get it fixed. that all looks good enough that i’d want to fix it.
